I did a real job on my back back in '82. It was six months, and a lot of chiropractor visits, before I could walk without a limp. Two years later, I'd gone as far as I could, and the pain had become a little more than a dull ache. So, I decided to just live with it. It hurts every day, but I've ignored it for so long, I…

Every Friday after my morning "Routine", but before breakfast.

I do a cheat day once a week, only if I've lost weight. I lost 61 pounds with that being part of my routine. I did all right with it on maintenance... until I stopped logging. The secret to a cheat day, is to not eat above what your maintenance calorie limit would be.

Well said!

The best way to tell, would be to log it all and then see what it all adds up to. I would say, and I am by all means no expert, if you didn't go over what maintenance would be for you, I'd call it a cheat day and move on. Even if you busted that, it's just one day. However, if you find yourself doing this on a regular…

Congrats on both of your really significant accomplishments. Well done my man.

Hope you get used to the new you, because she really looks good! Nice job.

I do a cheat day only if I lose weight that week. If you're gonna do a cheat day, you shouldn't go over what your maintenance calorie limits would be for that day. I lost 61 pounds that way a couple of years ago. Though I've only been back a couple of weeks or so, I've lost 5 pounds already, even with a cheat day.

Awesome job my man! I love these success stories!

With that accomplishment, there's no way you can't get to the next goal. Fantastic job.

Several years ago, I hated most vegetables too. My ex-wife told me I was making it hard on her to fix dinner. So, I started eating them, and now I love most veggies. I still think cabbage and beets are a communist plot to take over the world though, so I still don't eat them.

Best story I've seen so far. Congrats! Good job! Hope your next MRI shows ALL of the bad stuff gone!

I would have to drive a bit to get to the Y around here, and they do not have anything like a gym. One of the few negatives of small town living. The health clubs within driving distance are too expensive. They know they're the only two shows in this part of the county.

I knew it somehow could be done without buying an expensive special cooker thing. Thanx for posting this!

Holy Toledo! I couldn't have guessed those were pictures of the same person. Great job!

Before MFP, I was using caloriecount.com It has a pretty good newsletter that has lots of good info. I switched to MFP, because it had a bigger food database. I just felt comfortable here and wound up staying.

Good work sir. I love before and after stuff like this, because it inspires so many people. So, you can be proud of that too.
-
Kinda hard to see what you're doing and make suggestions, as you have your diary hidden.
-
Plan on it. Just put it in as a snack, then spread the rest of your calories around your meals.
-
See, you're winning already. Congrats!

I love broccoli, but will only eat asparagus if I'm at someone's house and they are serving it. When I'm looking for nutrition info, especially comparisons, I use nutritiondata.com Check it out to see if you like it.

Um... no. Me and the rest of us boomers are gonna use it all up. So, none for you. :) :)

I got all of this when I lost my weight too. It was mostly because the people in my circle never saw me when I was thin. If they persisted, my comeback was to rattle off my doctor's phone number, and ask them to give him a call and tell him he doesn't know what he's talking about." That ended it right there.

I hope you are meaning they are only part of your daily intake. Your profile states you want to lose 80 pounds. Do you really think you can sustain that with just shakes?
-
Maybe you'd be interested in a device like Fitbit for example? Hook it up with MFP, and it'll do your exercise calculations for you automagically. After a couple of weeks or so, you'll be better able to choose your activity level.
-
Good that it's working for you. As for me, I lost 45 pounds (My first trip a couple of years ago) having a snack around 8:30 - 9:30 PM. I concur with those that say it doesn't matter when you eat, as long as your stay within your macros. And, just for the record, I always feel great in the morning... as long as it's after…

^^This. At least, that's what I was taught.

You did the right thing; you chocked it up to experience. However, if you have behaved the rest of the week, it won't hurt you. Realize that there is a weekly total as well. If you average it out over the week, it was probably insignificant.
