As another poster noted, by feeding them like crazy and not allowing them to move around much. For example, a broiler chicken can be raised to maturity in 6-7 weeks, often times being unable to walk more than a few steps because their breasts are so enlarged but their legs are not developed enough to handle that extra…

They can still call a chicken 'organic' by simply feeding it organic feed - an organic chicken does not mean the chicken lived a care free, all natural chicken lifestyle. This chicken may never see the light of day and still be grown at a crazy pace to get it to market quickly, and yet it can still labelled organic. Maybe…

Thanks for your post - I too was wondering why I go crazy with certain foods (chips, mostly, those CANNOT be anywhere near me!), and why others (chocolate) can be in my house and I can just have a tiny bit every day and not think about it. Even though we have no answers as to WHY, I feel so much better that it's not just…

Off topic but I found this interesting Michael Phelps diet article. http://globalnews.ca/news/2873231/rio-2016-how-michael-phelps-diet-changed-in-the-past-8-years/

How old are you? Some people's bodies are a lot more forgiving when they're younger but bad habits catch up eventually.

It is so nice to read such a positive thread! Go Scott go!

What about bags of pre-cut mixed veggies that you can add to a stir fry? It doesn't take a lot of effort to buy a package of chicken, cube it, and then make a nice stir fry.

Lol - we have only been on holidays for about 2 weeks! We don't go back until September

If you eat out on occasion it won't really be a huge deal for logging purposes. I just eat out less (3x a month maybe) and then not worry too much. I love supporting small restaurants and wouldn't eat at chains unless I have to even if it is easier to count calories when frequenting them.

Yes - watching this sure gave me motivation to push myself at my 'normal' gym workouts - too tired? No way! I think of these guys, lol.

I understand how you feel, too. Last year I had to take a month off of working out (illness and then a vacation), but I just watched what I ate and didn't lose any ground. I tried to limit my indulgences to dinner time to help stop overeating. Right now I have to take 10 days off of intense exercising due to dental…

I would watch your form on the treadmill as it's easier to have poor form on the machine. For example, you're not meant to land on your heel when running, but oftentimes I see people on treadmills doing that. You are also not using it efficiently if you hang on to the rails while walking or running.

Good for you for having a positive outlook! When in doubt, talk to your doctor. Then you'll know all is well.

The best way to lose weight is in the kitchen - but I really believe that the classes/exercise/sport that will keep you fit is the one you most enjoy. If it's a chore to attend it then you probably won't keep going. I personally like weight training, running and playing squash (when I can find a partner!).

I just found this site a couple months ago - it's awesome. You can make your own bars/smoothie mix/cereal and you can see the nutritional info change with each added ingredient. Gluten free/vegan, etc. www.uraaw.ca Americans have a different site: www.raawmacaw.com

The bar I looked up sure has a lot of artificial ingredients in it....probably some better choices out there. https://ohyeahnutrition.com/collections/complete-line/products/ohyeah-one-bar-variety-pack?variant=17299523591

Both the whole grain and white bread available at our local grocery store are often made with a lot of processed ingredients which don't sound that appealing. I also noticed some breads have colouring, corn syrup, and other unhealthy ingredients. Personally, I'd be more concerned with the ingredients list than the…

Use TripAdvisor - the reviews are really helpful and you can filter restaurants by $$$.

Hey Chelsea - do you work for them? If not you should ask for a commission, lol. Sounds like a great product!

I mix it in after or else the whole pot gets gluey and gross.

I checked and it doesn't include cheese or dressing. Must be a lot of veg! http://w.subway.com/en/menunutrition/menu/product?MenuCategoryId=8&ProductId=252

I feel like people gave their honest opinions on why they would (generally speaking) never have surgery in Mexico in the first place. I think that's answering your question. Besides, even if someone posts on here that they had WL surgery in Mexico, that is only one person's experience with who knows how many variables. I…

I'm not sure about 'bad' for you - but I agree that some palm oils are made in an unsustainable way, polluting the environment, killing animal habitats, and taking land away from indigenous farmers. Check out this link: http://www.saynotopalmoil.com/Whats_the_issue.php

Good on you for recognizing that you were eating a dangerously low amount of food - track your meals and eat within your MFP range, and you'll be okay. You won't lose weight as rapidly, but it will be healthy and sustainable. And keep doing the P90X! I heard it's really tough.

Just for fun I looked up Jillian Michael's qualifications. From her website: Since 1993, Jillian has held two personal training certificates from the leading certification programs in the country: the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). In…

A homemade apple muffin with chunks of brown sugar on top and a small bit of melty cream cheese in the middle. HEAVEN!
