  • My favorite vegetable ~ it is a bean, right?
  • I fit a couple of beers over the weekend in my diary.

  • As long as you're satisfied with what you're eating and not feeling deprived, you might have to just add something to the diary (even if you're not eating it) to put you over the calories. Or, if you're so under your calorie goal, treat yourself to a little something ~ if you can't have a little "guiltless sin" now and…
  • I'm in! Progress to date: Starting weight: 231 Goal weight: 150 Weigh-ins: 1/3/17: 230.6 1/6/17: 226.4 1/13/17: 226.5
  • My goal too (although I've got more than 52 pounds to lose, so it'll be a year-plus challenge). How are you doing so far?
  • For me, the hardest part of working out is getting my butt off of the couch. My exercise of choice was (and will be again) water aerobics. I hated going there, enjoyed being there, and felt great after leaving there.

  • I started (or shall I say "restarted") on January 3 with 77 pounds to lose. Friday morning weigh-in's, we'll see what tomorrow brings.
  • Celebration Day - Led Zeppelin
  • While in the weight-loss mode, I plan on weekly weigh-ins, so I don't have to deal with the daily ups (and downs). When I get to weight-maintenance mode, I'll switch to daily, so I can nip those daily ups in the bud.
  • Happy New Year, Ladies! I'm new to this group (returning to MFP after a nine-month ~ and 12 pound weight gain ~ hiatus). With New Years falling on Sunday and the official holiday on Monday, January 3 was my start day. My resolutions are much like most of you (track food, stay within limits, log in daily, drink 8 glasses of…
  • Neither. Studies have shown that diet sodas do NOT aid in weight loss. Too many artificial sweeteners and other icky chemicals. Water is your best friend if you're trying to drop a few pounds. Great for your kidneys and digestive system.
  • False. Owns a domesticated rodent (pet)
  • While the consecutive log-in days is nice, if I had my druthers I druther watch the number of pounds lost increase.
  • The same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I went out of town for business, consumed more food and beer calories than I should have, didn't track, and gained nearly 3 pounds. Last week I got back on track and lost the weight I gained and then some. Don't let your setbacks cause you to fail. So you fell off the…
  • Led Zeppelin's got eight great albums from which to choose workout songs. "Rock and Roll" (IV) and "The Immigrant Song" (III) are two of their most popular songs that will get you moving. They've got a lot of blues songs as well ("Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Since I've Been Loving You") for your cool downs. "When the…
  • 'These are good things to know. Do you recommend any food verity that would be healthy to eat?' I try to stay away from processed food as much as possible. Processed food is generally loaded with sodium, high fructose corn syrup, and chemicals with really long names I can't pronounce. When it's not avoidable, I buy the…
  • Looking for friends to do this. 1200 -1300 calories per day journey with. Eating 3 meals a day. No junk. No snacking between meals. No Fast Food. Exercise! Lots water. Lots of No's, but that will save us! Join me!!!! How about: Stay within calorie goals; well balanced meals and healthy snacks between meals, occasional fast…
  • I get by with a little help from my friends
  • The TV's on in the background. If I were to have music going, it would be Led Zeppelin.
  • Fresh fruits and veggies are good low-sodium foods. Air-popped popcorn is a great low sodium snack (it does have a nice sweet taste to it without butter or salt). Water is good (don't know if it helps flush out sodium, but it doesn't contain any). Coffee and tea (home brewed) are low sodium beverages. Diet soda is a little…
  • I love bread! However, I've learned to cut back (not give up) and eat healthier bread. No more white. Whole grain, in moderation, and I've found a recipe for a wild rice/multi-grain bread that I'll be trying soon. If you have to give up foods you love for a diet, it's not worth it. We should be able to partake in every…

  • I think your SOB husband kicking you out might be the best thing that happened to you (you may not realize it now, but you may in the future). Work on helping yourself for you, taking advantage of you! Your coworker may just be heaven sent, someone sent to you to help you out of your hell hole. If you stick with AA, she…
  • Oh, I already have a scale...I dusted it off today! :)
  • I make a blueberry breakfast parfait. 1/2 cup plain greek nonfat yogurt 1/4 grape nut cereal 1/4-1/2 cup frozen blueberries I layer the ingredients (Yogurt on bottom, then cereal, then berries) in a plastic serving bowl with lid. By the time I get to work, the berries are thawed. I mix together and enjoy. About 200…
