49-50 is what Fitbit tells me.

I agree with your last statement. You can make most foods macro friendly. But until you can provide research that can prove that nutrition is negligible in comparison to training routines when transforming one's body, I respectfully disagree with you.

If that were true, the guys who go to the gym all the time but don't change their crap diet wouldn't look the same that they did 2 years ago. Glycogen (stored energy form of carbs) is used by your muscles for energy. A 1940's study showed them to be "protein sparing." Compared to a fasting group, those with carbs (still no…

Calories in must be less than calories out for weight loss to occur... Scientifically just fact. What your body looks like at the end of the journey depends on the nutrition. Protein allows you to sustain some of your muscle mass (pro tip: the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns...) Eating mostly carbs…

Dude, just wanted to let you know that you just provided me the biggest support right now. Currently down about 94 lbs (172ish) and have been struggling for a while, wondering if I'll ever be able to visibly see my abs or have a well defined chest, or if my skin may just sag and never reveal much. Been on the journey for…

709.4 + 94 = 803.4

I bet that felt great. Time to buy a new belt soon, what a shame right? :sunglasses:

Slow and steady wins the race! I think you are right about that. Thank you all for the nice words!

Thanks all

I second the Gemma Arterton comment! Great job.
-
Great job! I'm curious, what's your height?
-
Awesome! Very encouraging to see. 23 here, topped out at 266, currently at 214 and hoping to hit 180. If I get fortunate, my skin will do as well as yours. Any regrets on the weight loss side?
-
Amazing, congrats to you for sure.
-
Good job man. Impressive.

"Habits are easy to form and hard to break." It's tough because of the love of food. Take a picture of yourself with your shirt off (or similar) and put it by the places (pantry, fridge, etc) to remind you why you need to use your willpower and say no.

It's hard. People always say "almonds are great for you," etc. etc. Nutritionally, yes, but nuts (as well as trail mix, things of that nature) are loaded in calories and can be more detrimental to a diet than helpful if not portioned correctly. Good job on your discovery for him! I've given up a few foods that I really…

Nah. Unless you like for your pee to smell awful.

Congratulations. I'm happy you were able the strength to win.

I get it, but ask yourself if in a few years it would matter? Just began dating a girl and we were talking about fitness; I voluntarily told her how much I had lost and she was very supportive and happy for me, and we moved on to the next subject haha. Be proud of what you've done! If he's a keeper, he'll find it…

I asked for "better recommendations", not for dick replies. I'm down nearly 56 pounds, and for the first time since high school have been able to run a mile without stopping. I understand some people need their ego stroked, but I was under the impression these forums were for support. I was asking for advice on a routine…

And by no means was I trying to insinuate that others should think this way. If she wants to get rid of it, have at it. I just provided input as requested.

6th through 8th grade. I'll get a bunch of cardio in by running around with them, but I wanted to keep it fair to my gym partners (they don't help coach).

About what weight did your love handles really recede and flatten? What's your height and weight, and beginning weight? Milestones? You look great man, good job.

Look up "obese to beast" on YouTube. He has a video where he shows his loose skin (he dropped a LOT of weight) and then explained why he wanted to keep it. It offers a really fresh and unique perspective.
-
Yep, great job. Incorporated squats too I see.

You should print off a BMI chart to show where you are in medical standards. If she argues, then let her know she's arguing science with opinion and good luck.

Saying you're not weighing yourself because you're lifting weights doesn't really make sense (not being rude) If you're eating at a deficit, you're not gonna build very much muscle at all. The point of lifting while dieting is to retain muscle mass. I lift 3 times a week and have done so since I started in March. I weigh…

23 here. Been at it 4 months as of tomorrow. Down 52 lbs. Feel free to add me, anyone.

Just giving props for still answering this thread, 14 months later. Very cool.

I remember reading, a while ago, that the cardio is better after lifting weights. Not a medical professional, but my advice would be to stretch the muscles unused during your workout before the run.
