  • I split my gym workouts between an elliptical trainer & a stationary recumbent bike. The variety keeps the workout from becoming too dull.
  • Keep working out & watching your diet. You'll avoid a lot of health problems when you're older.
  • I do assisted squats for my arthritic knees, on the advice of a physical therapist. I put a chair next to a solid object that offers support for lowering my body (I use an elliptical trainer). I hold onto the elliptical & squat my butt towards the chair. When the butt touches, I stand back up, using the elliptical for…
  • I got a Schwinn 240 Recumbent back in 2012 & it still works well after lots of use. I've been using it about 5 days per weeks, for 30 - 40 minutes per day. I listen to music while riding, daydream & focus on my breathing. That helps relieve the boredom. I also close my eyes while riding.
  • Highest- 307 Lowest- 180 Current- 208 Goal- 190
  • I have the same issue. I lost a lot of weight at first, but I've plateaued now. I've stopped weighing myself & am focusing on the process of following my plan every day. The weight will eventually come off- it has to, if you eat fewer calories than you burn! I'm afraid that if I weigh myself I'll get discouraged & quit my…
  • Candy is a "trigger food" for you- I'd stop eating it altogether. You can live without it, and abstaining will make your life so much simpler! Alcoholics do that with booze. I go to Overeaters Anonymous meetings, and you might want to try it yourself. They specialize in helping people in our kind of situation.
  • I lost about 10 pounds when I stopped drinking alcohol. Alcohol adds calories, and it made me want to eat more too. Beer & pizza go great together!
  • Smoking really curbs hunger. Once time I took up smoking to help me lose weight, and it worked. I suggest that you keep smoking until you lose the weight... smoke when you're hungry! That was my strategy & it worked. Quitting smoking & losing weight are both hard to do... do you really think you can do both at the same…
  • I once weighed 307 & lost 100 pounds. I joined Nutri- Systems. It helped me because I didn't trust myself to make good food choices at that point in my life. I put myself into their hands & ate what they gave me. I also started smoking cigarettes to curb my hunger. I was desperate, and desperate times call for desperate…
  • Try to remember why you decided to lose weight in the first place... something must have really spoken to you! Try imaging how great you'll look when you hit your goal, and how great it will be to wear a smaller size than what you wear now. Imagine the compliments that you'll receive when you finally hit your goal…
  • I sprinkle Old Bay seasoning on tuna, and add a stalk of chopped celery.
  • High protein smoothie- 353 calories 1 cup frozen blueberries 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk 1 scoop (31gr) whey protein powder, chocolate 2 tbs ground flax seeds
  • I've lost 13 pounds & have 37 to go!
  • I eat dried edamame beans as a go-to snack. 1/3 cup is 172 calories, it's filling & has 18 gr of protein. Keeps the hunger away!
