@guisa it is my understanding that hip thrusts, glute bridges, and bascially all of the other exercises from the gorgeous glute workout are great for lower body development. I just do those, each workout 1 day a week, on the 3 days I do my regular SL routine

Sign me up! I love challenges, and holiday food :D

I plan on doing the gorgeous glute program along with myv standard Stronglifts training. Day1 starts today!

Yes, I started at the beginners workout, and its nice and easy (maybe too easy!) but I'm taking the opportunity to just focus on my form. I was starting to feel my newbie gains failing, been doing stronglifts 5x5 since march. I don't mind the change, but I will have to do a bit of cardio to make up for lack of heartrate :)

You are in a position of learning lifelong habits without surgery, and this is good news! Many people do lose weight with surgery, but many aren't able to sustain this due to not making actual lifestyle changes. Stapled stomachs can, over time, hold a lot of food again. The same is true for both of you, however, that…

Hey guys! Glad this thread was started, as I was about to post the same thing. I have been doing SL 5x5 since March, and I enjoy it, but having read about how important training our glutes is I have decided to add accessory work. I just bought Strong Curves and really am enjoying reading it. I didnt know if I should launch…

garmin vivoactive, mine finds a satellite super fast even around downtown buildings, and is very accurate. and waterproof!

I just got this book today! I've been doing stronglifts 5 x 5 for 5 months now, and needed to change up the routine. I am so excited for strong curves, it really does seem like a great program.

I love being a woman who lifts, but I also find cardio very boring. My body shape has improved so much more from heavy lifting compared to the days I would grind out cardio. I've spotted men and women, and anyone I ask is happy to spot me. Also, when I deadlift, I get a compliment almost every time. My form is very spot…

I mean, it's taking me nearly a year to lose 40 pounds. I started at 165 and my goal is 125. It takes a lot of time, and week to week trends are not as helpful as month to month trends. Track your stats for the next few months then compare.

I am ninagray000 , feel free to add me

Sure add me! I am 28, 5'5", 134 down from 165, wanting to get to about 120 or 20% body fat (whichever comes first). I like lifting weights and cooking low calorie, fiber and protein rich food
-
I would like to be around 125, as long as my body fat is around 21%.
-
I plan on bulking in a few months after this long cut ive been on. I like the idea of reverse dieting after a cut for awhile! I'll follow too. Good luck, I like your plan!

It's hard to say unless we know exactly how you're eating. Do you log your calories? Are you in a deficit, or eating at maintenance? It's so important to weigh all solid foods, and measure all liquids. It's the only way to know for sure what the issue is. Fyi, it takes many weeks, potentially months, of lifting to gain…

@SezxyStef yeah, I guess I'd never been in this situation, and wasn't prepared for such a slow down at this weight and rate! To be honest I'm not even sure what a goal weight would be, but I think I will continue cutting and add cardio or eat at a slightly higher deficit. Thanks again

Hmm my goals are mostly a combination of vanity and just wanting to be stronger. Having a great shape is a huge motivator to me, and I can fit into clothes at 137 that, about 8 years ago, would only fit at 120ish. I probably have a better body comp now, but I still have some areas with fat that is like to see gone. I think…

Thanks for the replies!

@LisaTcan I feel you! It's hard, especially since I re-enter my calorie/macro requirements every couple pounds or so in order to NOT plateau this hard! I understand a slow down, but at this rate it would take me 2 years to lose enough fat to get to the body fat % I want :( Any experienced lifters out there for some advice?

great work so far!!!

You should seek professional help to take control of your binging problem.
-
add me, i log every morsel of food, and use my garmin to track my walks. I also do stronglifts 5x5, and am looking at adding more strength training.
-
Yeah, squats need to be here.
-
Please invite me! My goal in about 12 weeks is to solidly be in the 120s, but that requires losing at least 9 pounds. Let's inspire each other, so much can be accomplished in 12 weeks!
-
It's the first time I've used a hr monitor, do you really have to wet it before wearing? It seemed accurate without wetting
-
Add me, ninabeana is my Garmin connect id. I love my vivoactive, just got it!
-
Eat at maintenance if you still want to log calories. Or be like me, and just eat what you want and enjoy. Just be sure to get back on track post vacation. Vacations aren't a frequent thing for me, so I just want to enjoy it was much as possible! Chances are you won't gain much, if at all, since you're used to smaller…
