  • Planning on adding some low carb fruits and veggies this time around. Hoping by not keeping it so strict that I'll stay on it better. A lot of times after being back on plan awhile I naturally end up moving to OMAD and mostly meats anyway, but just the thought of knowing I can have the other if I want will be a big thing…
  • Also not sure how much potassium you are supplementing with, but I had the same sort of heart fluttering(racing) issues when I was taking potassium. It scared me a bit and so I decided to focus on getting my magnesium and other electrolytes in line and hoped the potassium would sort itself out.
  • I never thought about heating the mixture to blend the cocoa powder in better......I bet that would help a lot.
  • I did very well maintaining without counting calories, but in order to lose weight I seem to have to stay in a specific range. However, I almost wonder if the counting actually causes me to be more honest tracking and that is actually helping more than the actual amount of the calories.
  • I know this is a really old thread, but I just got through listening to the Big Fat Surprise on Audio Book. Even though I've been low carb for several years and have read and listened to so much stuff on the subject including some of her presentations this book blew me away. The way all of the dietary guidelines have come…
  • Very interesting. I notice that I am much less likely to overindulge if I'm exercising regularly, but always thought that it was from the guilt of not wanting to undo the benefit I was getting from the exercise! :)
  • Went off the rails a bit over the weekend due to my daughter's graduation (I know...no excuse....LOL) and I definitely could tell the pain in my joints was back and I hadn't noticed until then that it had been gone.
  • @tcunbeliever thanks for the link. For $9.99 I think I will give it a try!
  • Some scales are probably better than others too.....
  • I feel like I read somewhere (never a good way to start a sentence...lol) that level of hydration could affect the readings on those electrical impedance scales. Maybe you are just really hydrated!
  • I need to try these for my daughter.....She has a higher carb limit than me so that she doesn't feel deprived. She's still in high school and doesn't always have the option of eating super strict. I would much rather she eat a little higher on carbs than return to the SAD which would not benefit her at all. They look a lot…
  • LOL....I thought the same exact thing!
  • From last night. Keto chicken parmesan with tomato cream sauce and zoodles.
  • That's hilarious! And unfortunately so true.....
  • @laurainottawa that is interesting. My daughter has been having trouble with eggs recently (pan-fried). Will have to see if this works for her as well. Same as you she is not bothered by eggs when used with other preparations.
  • I found some recently frozen at my grocery store, but haven't had the chance to try them yet. Need to do that soon!

  • Wish I had know this when we were caring for my husband's mother. I feel it could have done so much for her. Even when she was in the mild to moderate stages.
  • Shoot! I knew I was forgetting one!

  • My doctor has been very open minded about the keto diet. She always asks me every time I go in if I'm still doing it and how it's going. On the other end of the spectrum...when I first started the diet I was looking to see if it would help my epilepsy (which it didn't really seem to unfortunately) I was referred to a…
  • Growing up my mother always had margarine in the house for us to use. I only had butter once at my grandparents house and I think it had gone bad because it was horrific. Sometime after I got married I decided to start using real butter instead of margarine and I have never gone back. Tried margarine one day at my…
  • As far as appetizers go bacon wrapped anything....LOL....Although there might not be any left by the time you get there, but you could do bacon wrapped sausages, bacon wrapped jalapenos filled with cream cheese, bacon wrapped mushrooms?

  • I know I could use more walking/exercise/activity across the board. My desk job is doing me no good in that respect.
  • I actually even like to weigh things more than measuring because if you are going off of grams you can totally get every last gram of peanut butter (or whatever) that you are owed....LOL. I especially like weighing my salad dressing since that's another thing that's easy to over or underestimate.
  • Thanks @KetoZandra.....I never thought about adding heavy cream to the chicken cube. That would probably make it great. Thanks @baconslave . I think I'm definitely going to get some mag oil or cream and give it a try!
  • Love it! Entertaining but also informative and spot on!
  • Thanks @ironmaidenchick . I really need to try a topical cream. Don't know why I'm so resistant to trying new stuff....LOL
  • Thanks @KarlaYP !
  • Bump!

  • Thanks @tcunbeliever . I agree with your thoughts. My only thought was maybe my body has gotten so used to this dose of magnesium that I might need more. But definitely needing to up my salt. Just went a bit ago and chugged some in a small bit of water and feeling better again already. Just need to be consistent with it…
  • Love this thread! Bumping for the masses!
