You can link it up via the Health App on your phone - add MFP as a "source". So far (I just got my watch this week so I haven't tested it extensively) it's been accurate in terms of pulling nutrition data from MFP into Health and in pushing workouts from Health to MFP. It doesn't push steps the way a link to the FitBit app…

I just got my series 2 this week. I don't have time to be the sole mod of a community so if there's enough interest in a couple of days and somebody to share the load, I'll look into it. ;)

well drat. so much for trying out FitBit food logging to see if it's improved enough... thanks!

check the chicken recipes topic - lots of ideas there!

That's a bummer that it's not for all fit bits. Makes sense, though, I guess, from a tech standpoint.

I do the same with my Flex. Probably have to put it on the charger for a longer stretch once every 7 or 10 days.
-
I make trail mix with 1T each of semi-sweet chocolate chips, slivered almonds, and pumpkin seeds. IIRC (I haven't made it in a while) it's about 150 calories per serving.

Is your activity level set to sedentary? It sounds like "lightly active" might be a more accurate reflection of your lifestyle - as long as you also enable negative adjustments for days when you burn less than anticipated.

I was in this situation a couple of weeks ago... And I honestly just didn't sweat it. I wore my flex when I wasn't in the water, tucked it away in the bottom of our bag when I was, and just tried to make reasonable food choices. I'd bet you'll have enough fun that you won't notice the withdrawal symptoms. ;) (Says the…

No firm goal weight here. I'm 5'4" and last time on this carousel I got as low as 135. That was too low - turned out to be impossible for me to maintain. Now I'm focusing on healthy intake and a good level of activity and not sweating the numbers on the scale. I suspect I'll be happy with how I look and feel around 145,…

Seconding the multiport USB charger (plus appropriate plug converter for int'l travel). Best twenty bucks I ever spent - both for at home (ipad, phone, fitbit can all charge on the bedside table) AND for travel (when we add the camera, my husband's headphones & garmin watch, The Kid's devices...).

Um, no. Just. No. OP, you are aiming for a calorie deficit... IIRC it's 250 calories per half-pound per week loss (but don't quote me on that, I might be misremembering). I would encourage you to link up your fitbit so you have a better idea of what you're actually burning per day and can eat accordingly. Do you have the…

another vote for iSmile... and I'm impressed that your band lasted a year. My second one (I can wear either a small or a large) broke at about the 11-month point. Got a 3-pack of the textured iSmile ones and have been happy with them.

Late with my update… Weekly update (2/15 - 2/21) per Fitbit and Runkeeper: Steps: 67,868, or 26.54 miles Calories out: 16,245 Calories in: 13,235 Weight Delta: +1 (is it my logging? Was it all the salt in hotel restaurant food? Was it the fact that I got fewer workouts in because our family schedule was all hosed up?…

Variation of this: Chicken breasts, several cups of spinach leaves, then salsa. Cook until the chicken's done, shred chicken, add about a cup of light sour cream and warm. We had these earlier this week - they were a hit with kids and adults alike: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/barley-bean-corn-burritos Also really like…

I find the fitbit to be motivating and I've had better success with the combination of the two than either one by itself.

I'd say bike computer so that you can log it as a regular cycling activity... the fitbit estimates for spinning are wayyyyy off (it gives me less of a burn from 45 minutes spinning than it does from 45 minutes walking, for example).

It was the breakthrough for me, too. After creeping up to my highest weight ever, I linked the two about 10 months ago and lost slowly but steadily (15 lbs) between March and September 2015. Am now getting refocused after this fall kind of kicked my *kitten* on a personal level.

When I was buying it regularly, I used it on cereal and in oatmeal, and in my coffee. Never tried to use it in place of dairy for cooking, though.

Thanks, all!
