I'm also a student and need the caffeine for finals. I am living proof that coffee with sugar won't affect your weight loss. So far I've lost 20+ pounds and aiming for more. The thing with coffee is that it can be dehydrating so that's why a lot of people suggest aiming a higher water goal.

I always count my calories on a "cheat day". That way I know how much I've set back my weekly deficit. Also on cheat days I never go past my TDEE so I actually never set back my weekly deficit. Count your calories even on cheat days and don't go past your TDEE, that way you won't regret anything.

I also wear glasses when I run but today decided to leave them home. To everyone that has replied thank you! I decided to wear a jacket and a hat for the run. It was actually more refreshing that the regular ones.

Yes it's good to have 1 cheat day, as long as you don't go too crazy. It keeps you sane and you can stick to your healthy eating. No one can go forever with out a treat from time to time. Some days I'll eat a piece of chocolate on a regular day. If the whole week I've been doing well I'll have a cheat meal.

Soda is very addictive because of the caffeine. It also dehydrates you which can make you drink more! Find another drink you like and integrate that into your habits. Usually I drink green tea in the afternoon. Also eating a smaller lunch helps. Idk why but when I would eat a large portion of food during my lunch hour I would feel extremely sleepy.
