  • I've lost an average American's pizza yearly intake and I'm aiming to have their cheese off them next
  • About 25,000 I got that a couple of times on holiday and at a music festival at the weekend!
  • I've just come back too and suffer from fluid retention on long haul flights and I had two of them back to back. I took the water tablets and drank lots of water and it was gone within a day (spent a lot of time in the loo on the plane though). Gained 3lbs holiday weight though which I can't blame on water retention.
  • 37-27-36.5 (go me with my hourglass) I was looking at sizing charts today and particularly which shops are the worst for vanity sizing. My measurements put me at a UK 10/12 Most of my newer size 12 clothes are too big on me now but my older stuff fits ok (before vanity sizing) I've been buying 10's lately.
  • I did 10k steps yesterday and no other deliberate exercise and got around 370 calories but I suppose it depends on gender, weight, height etc how much you would burn for the same. I took the dog for a 45 minute brisk walk (apart from all the times she stopped and sniffed!) and got 237 for that.
  • Is it ok to just use the machines? I do half cardio and half machines when at the gym and sometimes some dumbell or kettlebell stuff. I am intimidated by the weights room as I haven't got a clue what I'm doing in there. Going to get a PT for a couple of sessions soon with a friend to get us a program though.
  • Congratulations!! We on the south coast will look forward to welcoming you!
  • I'm going to Thailand this week where the food is pretty healthy but there will be lots of booze consumed. My plan is not to weigh myself for at least a week when I get back so any holiday bloat has a chance to settle down. I'm going to log as best I can while I'm away and try and get lots of steps in each day.
  • Coccyx pain after sitting....my daughter who is a skinny minny says this is a normal thing for her.
  • My charge HR has been my biggest motivator, I've had since mid Jan and even on rest days from the gym it makes me want to get out and go for a long walk or a bike ride to get extra calories burned (mostly so I can eat more!)
  • I had a check at the gym the other day that put my BF% at 40% (with one of those handheld gadgets)!! My BMI is 24.8 so I'm in healthy range and calipers method and tape measure method put me around 26% BF I won't be touching their gadget again!
  • And from me :)
  • I'm 47 and I've had a slim body lots of times but never a fit body....that's what I'm going to go into my 50's with. 40 is the new 20 don't you know!
  • I'm 5'5" and my goal is 140 or just below...I started at 170 and I've just hit 150 so I'm in a healthy BMI at last. I'll have to do this in stones but I think the general healthy weight range for my height is 7st 13 to 10st 10 (but that's only going by BMI calculators), I would feel far too skinny at 7st 13 though (I was…
  • If you've got a charge HR, your exercise calories are included in your total daily burn on your fitbit app. The adjustment on MFP is based on what fitbit tells MFP your daily total burn is likely to be so it's all included already. It says steps but if you click on the adjustment it gives you more details of how the…
  • From someone preaching about Paul McKenna diet. Don't drink caffeine and you will lose weight. Only eat fruit on an empty stomach. Only eat between 7.30am and 8pm Don't mix "heavy carbs" with protein Good on her she did lose weight but I bet she had a calorie deficit.
  • My mini goal is my holiday to thailand in just under 3 weeks. I wanted to be 147lb for it and I'm 151 at the moment. I don't think I'll make that goal but I won't be far off. I want to look good in my bikini
  • Amazing achievement. I'm doing c25k and at the moment can't imagine being able to run 4 miles straight. Can just about manage a mile at the moment but I couldn't run at all before I started.
  • I'm 47...I've lost 1st 5lb since mid Jan. I don't think for me it's been any harder to lose it but I think it's easier to put on in your 40's. I was always a healthy weight when I was younger. Middle age spread has been a thing in my case, probably due to less activity in this decade. No school runs, no chasing after young…
  • I have ibs-c and dieting has been a nightmare with making it worse....but I have recently starting taking a probiotic with fibre and also magnesium tablets each day and it has changed my life. No more constipation since i started taking them. Also have cut right back on eggs as I think they make me worse (a shame because…
  • My only advice would be to look for an aluminium frame as opposed to steel as they tend to be lighter and if you can get front fork suspension rather than fixed, it's a more comfortable ride. I got my current mountain bike from ebay for a steal, I do also have a road bike but I prefer to ride the mountain bike as it's…

  • Yes, I save up calories for weekends by eating less in the week. I use a spreadsheet too to keep on track. Losing a steady 1lb a week.
  • When my 20 year old daughter went to uni she left a big bag full of clothes at my house all uk size 8's and 10's. I went through it last night and now have some lovely new clothes for my holiday without spending a penny (the 10's not the 8's, that's still a way off!)
  • Hi I'm 47 too...add me if you like. I'm trying to get to a weight I last saw in my early 30's!!
  • You can make your own easily enough if you have a food processor, then it's best dry fried (there's lots of recipes on the Web....I found one for paleo dirty rice that I want to try today) but supermarkets in the UK have started to sell it ready riced which is really handy.
  • Today I had chicken steaks, sweet potato chips, mushrooms and salad. A great big dinner that was just under 500 cals (I had 2 chicken steaks that were 122 each so one less would have made it 400) Tomorrow I'm having cajun tuna steaks with savory cauliflower rice and peppers with salad on the side which comes in at 440. I…
  • Nope strap those puppies down in a good sports bra and they'll be fine. You actually need to wear sports bras 24/7 for a few weeks after the op so they will be dual purpose.
  • Just joined the group. I did the nightmare w5r3 today and I'm beyond pleased I managed the 20 min run that sent chills through me thinking about it. Looking forward to week 6 now
  • Hey I did the 20 minute run too today! Feels great to have completed it
  • I definitely second the C25K, it builds you up gradually. I couldn't run for a minute a few weeks ago now I can go 8 minutes (I'm on week 5)
