I had the same problem. This morning I drank two cups of really hot water (plain) and in 30 minutes I had a good size poop that I was very happy about.

I've noticed when we have oranges thngs work better. they are filled with fiber.0

like everyone else said, drink tons of water! Also, coffee always does the trick for me. Black if you can stand it0

Same issue here! I would go sometimes 2-3x/day when I was 287#, but now that I'm at 199, it's more like every 3-4 days. I *just spoke* to my doctor about this Friday, and he suggested more water and a stool softener, saving the laxative for desperate situations. I eat plenty of fruits/veggies, and use Fiber One bread for my daily sandwiches, too.0

You have only asked a question I have been thinking for a while now. It's not gross...just something we don't often talk about in 'polite company'! I, too, have been having the same problem and have been worried about it. There is some wonderful advice on here and I plan to be following it.
Thanks for having the courage to post this 'gross' question!

Not to say no, but its a bit of a leap, constipation is a pretty unusual symptom if parasites, weightloss is more normal....
Fun fact
At any one time 10% of the population has threadworm0 -

Back again. Highly unlikely, unless she lives at your house.0 -
I have ibs-c and dieting has been a nightmare with making it worse....but
I have recently starting taking a probiotic with fibre and also magnesium tablets each day and it has changed my life. No more constipation since i started taking them.
Also have cut right back on eggs as I think they make me worse (a shame because eggs are great)0 -
I try to get plenty of coffee and fiber, but physical activity really makes the difference for me. Running is particularly effective. (Household chores like scrubbing out the tub also work quickly for me.)0

Carbonation or coffee usually helps me...but I only go about once every 3 to 4 days anyway.0

I don't know how you guys handle going every few days, I'd be doubled over in pain if i had to wait that long. Plus I cant stand the thought of all that digested food sitting in my gut for that long.
A probiotic and magnesium every night before bed guarantees a daily event for me.0 -
Drink lots of water, consume enough fiber, and drink some coffee. Also, soaking in a warm bath sometimes helps.0

+1
Yes, water, fiber, and yes very much more fat. If you are eating low fat, even the water and fiber will not help as much.

Are you eating any fibre and have you been drinking enough water?0

I concur with Dr DancingDarl. Classic case.
He is a doctor, after all. Ever read Dune?
The spice flows....but not his bowels.0 -
I'm usually under my fiber goal but I've found that usually in the morning if I sit on the toilet for 5-10 minutes just on my phone even if I don't have to "go" I'd always end up going. Just try giving yourself some regular "toilet time". Works for me!0

Try eating a raw carrot a day! ... or a celery stick. Magnesium supplements help taken at evening meal as they can aid sleep. I take supplement with magnesium and calcium for the bones. Acidophilus tablets can also help taken after a meal. Spirulina tablet first thing before food. I wouldn't try all at once though!0

I was struggling with this too. One serving of Fiber 1 cereal on top of Greek yogurt is my new afternoon snack. It does the trick to keep things moving regularly for me.0
-
If you up your fibre intake significantly all in one go, it can take your body some time to adjust.
If I start eating porridge everyday it can take a week or so for things to go back to normal.
Don't worry too much, but if you're uncomfortable, it might be worth trying coffee or anything with a laxative effect.0 -
Try fiber, fat, water and coffee.0

intestinal parasites are usually accompanied by diahrea and weight loss, weakness. more fiber can make constipation worse for some people plus it adds gas which on top of constipation can be a grueling adventure. Best of luck on this. There is the glass of warm salt water on arising technique accompanied by higher fat in the diet for a day or two. It works for some of us.0

Hey OP, are you still here? How are you feeling? Did you get things moving again?
BTW I hear if you take a tablespoon of ACV every morning, not only will it rev up your metabolism but it will also kill that pesky intestinal parasite. sarcasm0
