Actually moving faster raises your heart rate and burns more calories. I have had my heart rate into the 120's buring 7 calories a minute on a hike where I might only burn 2.5-3 per minute with my heart rate in the mid to upper 80's at a more leisurely pace. That said it is better to walk slower for a longer period of time…

I do a rub with a little olive oil, rosemary, minced garlic and salt and pepper. Roast at 350 until done.

Dice up some cooked chicken breast, toss it, the rice, some diced celery and carrots into a pot with some chicken stock. Add Marjoram, minced garlic, and black pepper. Simmer until veggies are tender. Delicious chicken and rice soup.

To compete in martial arts what you need to do is train. Train train... keep training. Work on the things your sensei tells you you need to focus on. That's pretty much it. If your body feels good and you have enough energy for what you are doing then you are not doing too much. 2000 calories does seem low though. I am in…

Get a physically active hobby. Like walking? Go hiking at local parks. Take a camera and get into nature photography. Take up yoga, martial arts, dancing, swimming, kayaking, cycling, volunteer to walk dogs at the shelter. I don't go to a gym or use exercise equipment. Having a physical job helps but also I workout at a…

I share my bed with a chihuahua and a cat. The hound sleeps in her own bed.

I was walking on a sidewalk in Cleveland once and a guy driving down the road said, "Hey do you have a man? No? Want one?" Oh heck no. Another guy leaning out of the second story window of a Motel I was staying in, "Psst... are you with anybody? Room 223, come on up." I have also twice had men knock on my door and ask me…

Allowing a planned portion of sweets every day keeps off the urge to binge. I found that when I cut out foods I really enjoy I tended to crave them more and would end up overindulging more. I really love the 85% dark chocolate Mosser Roth bars from Aldi. Each package comes with 5 bars and 1 bar is only 142 calories and I…

I have a physical job. The best thing to keep me going is a combination of both. Carbs for quick energy and protein to feed working muscles. Cereal with whole milk and some yogurt works well to get me through to lunch.

More rewarding than what? Define cheat meal please. It seems everyone has a different idea of what it means. For instance the definition of the word cheat is: cheat [CHēt] VERB act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination: "she always cheats at cards" avoid (something…

Popcorn has 1.2 grams of insoluble fibre per cup it also has a small amount of iron and magnesium. I would not at all say that it has no nutritional value. It is a great way to get added fiber without a lot of calories. Personally I think grass fed beef tastes awful and prefer corn finished beef. Nutritionally there isn't…

Where in my post did you see the word stupid or "doesn't know what they are doing"? Seems to me there is a whole lot of assumption in your response to my post. My comments was my personal point of view on the subject of "cheat days". The analogy I made wasn't false, it was my point of view. Just because it is different…

How do you feel about the 5 second rule? I don't have cheat days. If I want a brownie I eat a brownie. I pretty much eat whatever I feel like eating. Sometimes it takes a little more planning, say if I feel like eating a pizza I need to eat lighter the rest of the day to fit it in and I try to satisfy that particular…

Pickles are wonderful for when you need a salty, crunchy snack that is super low in calories. Just bear in mind they do up your sodium count.

I prefer to manually enter my recipe ingredients and use specific entries, either USDA entries or those that cross check correctly against the package label I have in hand.

If I want dessert I have it. Actually want it twice a day. I include a little something sweet both with my lunch and with my dinner. Within my calorie goal of course. ;)

It is only impossible if you are unwilling to make changes in your eating habits. It doesn't matter what your ethnicity is. I eat chinese food fairly often. I also eat pizza and Greek, and pasta and burgers. I only have trouble losing weight when my calories in exceed my calories out on more than an occasional basis.

I work every Sunday. I rather enjoy it. But then I have a lot to do, taking care of the monkeys, so it isn't at all boring.

I no longer allow Fitbit to Sync steps with MFP to adjust the calorie goal. I do use my Fitbit to determine the BMR for the day(to decide if I can or should eat more or less than my MFP daily goal) and to set my activity level. When I was letting the steps count toward exercise and adjust my daily goal I was having a…

Mine is open. I eat a wide variety of foods. Calorie goal is 2200.

My current go to snacks if need to keep calories down are pickles, baby carrots, cucumbers and hummus. I plan for a 200 or so calorie snack in the afternoon and around 3-400 in the evening. But there are days when my other meals are more calorie dense than usual and I need to have my snacks be lighter. It helps that my…

http://chemistry.about.com/od/nomenclature/a/Chemical-Names.htm Scientific names are not meant to be used in every day conversation. They are meant to give an exact indication of what molecules it is made of and in exactly what order they are assembled. Nobody is supposed to be able to pronounce them they are not…

How can someone who is "not hungry" need to lose weight?

You are right. They do hate it. So stop making them do it. Anyway OP. For my birthday I go and get myself a really good mini cake or a single slice at a local bakery. And I enjoy it. It is one day. Enjoy it.

Presentation is everything. Food should be pretty. Some people are very visual and get ideas from what they see.... 2600 pounds of chocolate.

I am very introverted. I spend most of my time alone. I am a natural leader. I am NOT antisocial or shy, don't have social anxiety or low self esteem(anymore). I don't hate positive people or any people. (actually I enjoy observing people), I don't chose to hang around negative people, because those people are not healthy…

Don't get me wrong I have pizza fairly often. Just not a whole pie to myself. There isn't anything I don't eat including chocolate cake.

If you have negative adjustments enabled and have not walked enough steps to meet your TDEE based on the activity level you have selected then yes. That is the way it works. As the day progresses and you move more you will see it add them back.

I've never been drunk so I can't use it as an excuse for overindulging. I do however sometimes enjoy a high calorie treat that takes me well over my daily goal. Yesterday's dinner was an fine example. I downed an entire large thin crust pizza. Granted mostly veggies on top. (Spinach artichoke mushroom and sausage) It was…

Recognize that you are not perfect. No one expects you to be perfect. It is not possible to be perfect. However you are doing the best that you can do, TODAY, and tomorrow perhaps you will do better. Or not. And that's okay.
