Dinner. Not to close to workout time.

It is more accurate than guessing. I have found it to be useful for tracking BMR and calorie burns in exercise. My aikido workouts can vary quite a lot in intensity and manually logging Martial arts using the MFP calculator was giving my much bigger numbers than what I actually burn. For me allowing Fitbit to adjust my…

At your weight that number is probably correct. It takes a lot more calories to maintain 420 pounds than you probably realise. I know I was pretty surprised when I started to see how many calories I need in maintenance and to realise just how much I must have been consuming. Try it for a few weeks and see how it goes. :)

My TDEE according to my Fitbit Charge is around 3500. My activity level is set to High and I walk around 15-20k steps on most days and have to lose about 90 pounds. I Do not allow Fitbit to adjust my calorie goal as I did find that it was giving me too much and I was stuck in maintenance. Now that may be because I was…

Personally increasing activity was not feasible. I was already walking 8 miles a day doing a physical job. My "days off" usually include trimming hooves on 3-10 horses. I also train at a dojo 3 nights a week for two hours. I couldn't really get much more active. And I was still not losing weight. Calorie…

Sorry yes it does depend on the activity level you have chosen. If you have negative adjustments enabled it doesn't much matter at the end of the day.
-
How many steps are you getting? It won't credit you with exercise calories until you get to 5 miles walked.
-
Coffee usually does the trick for me.

I walk about 8 miles a day with my physically active job. I set my activity level to highly active and no longer allow the Fitbit to adjust my calorie goal. Spent too many months stuck in maintenance trusting the Fitbit.

Weigh the bag before you lock the chips. Then weigh the bag after you lick the chips and subtract. Log the difference. And remember that that weight gain tomorrow is probably just water retention fro all of the salt. :#
-
Okay... But did you log it?
-
I always watch tv while I eat. It hasn't stopped me from losing weight. Weight and log what you eat. Don't go over your goal. No matter where you intend to eat it.
-
If you think 1200 calories is a lot of food, you probably need to look at how you are logging. Opening your diary so people can see that would be a helpful idea.

I weighed hundreds if portions a day for 10 years working in a restaurant. I don't see why I can't do the same for myself at home. It really isn't all that time consuming once you get used to it. Of course there are times when it isn't practical to use a food scale and I have to estimate things but thanks to the time I…

I found that letting my Charge HR adjust my MFP calorie goal was causing me to get stuck in maintenance and even gain a few pounds back. So I disabled the Fitbit steps on MFP and only use my Charge to get a good idea of activity level and daily TDEE. Before the Charge I had a flex and I was not losing as smoothly as I had…

Okay... did you really think you could "cheat" and not have any consequences? Take the experience and learn from it. Use what you learned to do better in the future.

I love it diced up and cooked in a chicken broth with some chicken or white beans and other veggies.

This sound great. I just need to remember to pick up some cocconut milk. It isn't something I keep on hand. :)

Ive been single for 17 years. To be honest I kinda like it that way. There are a lot of perks to not having to plan your life around another person. makes meal prep and logging a lot simpler too. ;)

Black tea has plenty of caffeine and is not as harsh as coffee can be.

Nice idea. That goes into the plain boiled category since eating raw lima beans is never a good idea. Turns out they contain cyanide which is released as gas when they are cooked. The ones you find in a restaurant are most likely canned and so have been cooked.
-
I just start with my lettuce base and add in whatever fresh veggies I have on hand. Radishes, tomatoes, celery, cucumber, peppers, carrots, zucchini, summer squash, maybe a few sunflower seeds, or slivered almonds, and some kind of cheese. Also nice can be craisins, raisins, diced apple, red beans. I also like to do pasta…

I usually cook dinner with at least one extra meal in mind which is used for my work lunches. If I am doing soup or stew I do a large batch and freeze in single serving containers for grab n go lunches.

I like my Charge HR but had to disable the connection with MFP because it was giving me too many calories. Iv'e been stuck in maintenance since I started using it. I know people say they trust thei Fitbit adjusted goal and are losing with it, but it isn't the case for me. I have a pretty high activity level.
-
Weigh it dry. The cooked weight can vary depending on how long it cooked and how much water it absorbed. The package should tell you what the calories for dry weight is. Go with that and use a MFP entry that agrees with the label.

Its okay to have pizza and cookies as long as you log it accuratly and stay under your goals. But other calorie dense foods that you might consider are nuts and nut butters. Peanut butter is good for you, lots of protein. Just be sure to weigh those portions. With nits a little goes a long way. Also cheese, whole grain…

.5-1 pound a week is good steady progress. 15 pounds in 6 weeks is2.5 pounds a week. Which is spectacular and depending on how much you have to lose, a little too fast. You are doing great. Keep it going! :)

Your mother is a toxic human being. The best and most healthy thing for you do to is to avoid contact with her. Yes it is hard. Yes you will feel bad/guilty/etc. Yes it is worth doing. And yes it is okay for you to do so. I know personally I have been a much happier person since removing my own toxic family from my life.

I don't log exercise. My Fitbit handles that. I do eat my exercise calories. Yes weight loss is slow. Last I checked it wasn't a race. I tried at first to do a much lower calorie goal and, while I dropped a lot of weight fast, I could barely function. Fuzzy brain and no energy. I need my body working well every day since I…
