I've been doing recomp for a few months now and it's going great! I eat approx around my TDEE but I'm not as strict as when I was losing weight. My weight has varied between 124-128lbs but I've lost 1% body fat. Just do something you enjoy and don't stress too much about the scales! You'll be fine! Best of luck

Thank you guys for all your advice! I haven't had a smoke in about 15 hours now and I''m doing ok, but in fairness I was asleep for a while  Congratulations to everyone who's quit, I hope I have the same success!
-
I'm hoping to do this cold turkey, which I managed for 3 days a few months ago haha. I didn't overeat then, and hopefully it'll be the same this time! When I turned 24, I said that I wanted to quit smoking by the time I was 25. So I have 2 weeks.. (yellow) fingers crossed!

I usually put frozen berries and some flaxseed in mine, but have heard it's yummy with almond butter, hemp and chia seeds!

I don't know about you guys, but I have lost quite a bit of weight without ever giving up alcohol! I guess it's because I don't really eat when I'm drinking - I seem to be lucky in that I rarely get the drinking munchies! Maybe you should switch to vodka if you really want a drink sometimes? I drink about 8-10 in a night…

What's with all the bitching? I asked for a bit of advice about weightlifting, not to be told I'm somehow lesser for not following a program. Simple. Congratulations to you guys for doing so well and enjoying what you're doing. I'm taking a different approach. Leave it at that.

But I don't WANT to follow a structured program. What I'm doing right now works for me and I'm seeing progress. If my legs hurt, I work on my upper body. If my arms hurt, I work on my lower body. If nothing hurts, I work on everything. I get easily bored of strict routines so I make mine up as I go along.

My goal is 125 and 34-24-36 measurements  I think a lot of it has to do with how your body handles weight and where it sits. I tend to have most of my weight on my stomach, so the lower side of a "good" weight for our height works for me.
-
Fantastic! Thank you so much
-
But that's what I AM doing.. I'm not following a program because I find them restrictive and a lot of them are based on what you would find in a gym as opposed to what I would have at home. I'm increasing the weight I'm lifting regularly, I'm doing a variety of movements. I was just looking for suggestions for OTHER moves.…

I do those moves I mentioned above (squats, deadlifts, bent-over rows), and I don't follow a specific program as I find I get bored of them. I prefer doing as much of whatever it is I want any time I pick up a weight and so far that's working for me. I'll have a look at the programs listed above and maybe pick out a couple…

Yep, I get this all the time! When I was younger I went from 165 down to 135 and thought I was skinny as hell, but then over the years being 135 was too heavy, I'm currently 125 at 5'6" and I STILL have days where I look in the mirror and hate what I'm seeing. I've recently started weight lifting and it's helping a little…

You ladies are absolutely incredible! I'm just a beginner, started lifting at home recently and love it! I hope things go as well for me as it has for all you superheroes!

Immortal or Satyricon usually do the trick! Scattered with maybe Raging Speedhorn and My Ruin.. old Otep and Slipknot.. Punk is the best for a workout tho!
-
UPDATE! For the relatively small price of €134 (about a third of the price of joining the local gym), I got myself this! No excuses now
-
I've been doing bodyweight exercises on and off for years now, I'm basically just looking to take things to the next level! I have 2 11lb dumbbells at home that I've had for years now, and sometimes borrow my mum's kettlebells (she's obsessed with them tho so I can't take em home haha) Thanks for the advice guys!
-
I'm thinking of something like the Strong Curves or possibly Deadlifts 5x5, just basic strength training to build up muscle! Excuse my ignorance, what exactly do squat racks do?

Drink spirits! I drink maybe 10-12 vodkas a week and I haven't had a problem losing weight. I just don't drink as much as I used to and try to control what I eat on the hangover day.

Saag aloo is a personal favourite of mine! Basically just potatoes and spinach so it's not too heavy but really filling! Also I'm hooked on vegetable biryanis.. if you can handle it, get one! Chana masala is also good and I think not too heavy on cream.. Just avoid/don't eat too much rice and naan if possible and you…

I know exactly how you feel, I've always felt like that too! My advice is to try to eat healthier, do yoga or something and don't sweat the little things like eating too much chocolate or whatever  Judging by your profile photo you have a perfectly healthy body and you have nothing to be ashamed of! Try working on…

Woohoo!! I only have 5/6 pounds to go before I reach my goal so this is perfect  good luck everybody! SW:140lbs CW:125.4lbs GW:120lbs Weigh in dates: Start of the month(06/01 Monday): 125.4lbs 06/06 Sat: 06/13 Sat: 06/20 Sat: 06/27 Sat: End of the month(06/30 Tuesday): Total weight lost: Hope I can get down to 120…

Wow, Stronglifts 5x5 sounds amazing! When I get my finances in good enough shape to join the gym again, I'll definitely look into that  Any other easier, at-home ways to build muscle? Or should I maybe just invest in a bench and weights?

Like body dysmorphia you mean? I don't think so. I have quite slim muscular legs and wear baggy tops because I dislike my stomach so usually that's why people think I'm thin! By "Perfect by 25" I was referring to a bunch of different things - I want to quit smoking and achieve a healthier lifestyle - eating better,…

It really sucks being a woman sometimes hahaha! I wanted to get the coil but the doctor won't let me. She said first of all that it would be harder since I'd never had kids - fair enough. Then she said that the coil may affect my fertility long-term so she couldn't give it to me. The problem is, I don't want to have kids.…

You could try alternating your calories consumed every day so one day you eat lots, and the next very little in terms of calories. That and maybe mix up your exercise routine, stick in something you've never done before! I'm in the same boat as you and that's what I'm trying, hope this is of some help!
-
I feel your pain! I've spent most of my life eating mostly chocolate and cake! Now I try to eat fruit or yoghurt or even just a bit of Nutella to try and fight my cravings.. Not having anything tempting at home helps tho. I know when you're out and about it's hard to resist, just to try to ask yourself - which you want…

Day 2! Looking at the last day, it seems impossible to me but hopefully working up to it slowly (like the challenge layout suggests) will make things more manageable  Doing this in conjunction with the 30DS, hopefully my stomach will be a lot more toned after!
-
Can I get in on this? Been stuck around the 133-136 mark for far too long! 5'6" and I'd like to be 125 by June  Add me if you want, I need some encouragement too
-
According to that I'm 17.374%, which would be closer but I'd go with maybe 3% higher than that.. would yoga help bring my body fat down? I'm apple shape which drives me crazy!
