No microwave? Incorporate PB (keep it under 2tb) and carrots or apples. Hummus/carrots. Cucumbers dipped in salsa or avocado dip. Pretzels and hummus. Popcorn.

Cheddar & apples flavored amonds cottage cheese and tuna is not as bad as it sounds!!!!! you've GOT to GOT to measure your snacks.

Exactly. This is setting yourself up for failure. Dieting is HARD WORK, so why add extra challenges? DO IT RIGHT. We all have experience on this site, and want to give you good advice. It's not because we're trying to be MOMMYS OR DADDYS....we've just made so many mistakes already - that we know the advice that works.…

If you have post dinner problems, then intermittent fasting is for you, I have dinner around 9:30/10pm then don't eat again until noon next day. Helps me stay in a deficit and prevents post dinner binging because there are sufficient calories for dinner. Takes a week to get used to

THIS. I've learned I prefer bigger meals, and one snack a day..MAYBE. Always leave most calories for dinner to prevent post-dinner binging.
-
Intermittent fasting has fixed this struggle for me. I eat my last meal by 10 pm and don't eat until 12:30 or 1 next day. Coffee or tea fine in morning

Chicken breasts with the bone... Lemon, Rosemary, salt & pepper on high for 4 hours. Why so good!?!??!? So simple

I don't remember people's bodies at pool parties. I remember how much fun they helped me have. Everyone is scared they won't be talked to, and concerned about their own bodies anyway etc. Come up with 1-3 pool games to play that get people involved and they'll remember you for how fun you are. And don't forget to smile and…

I think by drinking problem, TimothyFish meant - the poor planning around wanting to have a drink and not fitting in calories around it and letting that be the culprit for going over.

Thanks everyone for the reply. Going to plan the weekend out this Thurs. so I'm prepped. I think it will be important to plan ahead for the foods I want to indulge in like a homemade pizza, pancakes, etc. Also, think now that it's warmer - I just need to get out of the house with my prepped meals/snacks and sit in the park…

[/quote] You’d see the same results without running if you maintained the same deficit. You’re not asking me, but I have the exact same weight loss results (i.e. around 1lb/week avg) with running maybe once a week compared to when I was running 3-4 times, and I even upped my calories since then (and I don’t eat back…

Yes I use barbells for squat/deadlift. Going to start chest with barbell too, was just being easy with dumbells because it makes me so sore already. Do you eat at a deficit with the goal to lose? Do you eat back your calories? Have you experimented with just weight training and no running and seen same results weekly?…

thank you people. I was thinking about it wrong because I thinking it will speed up fat loss directly. But of course it's indirectly speeding up fast loss because it aids in helping you stay with your deficit. I do have trouble staying at my goal with a fluctuation of 150-250 calories, so I think I'll add in at least two…

Oops I'll post this in exercise. SORRy ...I'm new.

Thanks gia. Been slowing changing habits in the kitchen and seeing progress. Doing weight training 4 days a week. Let's say my diet is perfect and I'm doing weight training 4 days a week. Is a run even adding any help on 3 off days or is it smarter to have an off day?

Congrats, thanks for the motivation!

Ok fine SergeantSausage. You're right. We can't avoid the scale or any reality in life. mama peach said it best above:

Yes I'm scared to weigh myself!!!!!!! I know whether I've really stuck to my plan or not. It's an incentive to not weigh myself and keep going for me. I feel better, more energy, look leaner and I know that scale prob didn't budge so I'll b discouraged. U can't shake society's affirmation expectations from the scale. U…

Good advice here. Also, I would try eating at 1400 daily for 5 days. Try not eating back your exercise calories. You may be overeating. At least, that's from my experience. I do not eat back exercise calories and energy has picked up. Give this calorie counting thing a few weeks before panic. You have to get into a groove.…

Yes my bf had low iron...added more spinach and red meat periodically and worked perfectly.

Hello, some questions so we can help you. How many calories are you consuming? How much protein? And lastly, at what time of day do you have the most energy?

Mwallace04 - my doctor recently upped my dose and had me come back 3 months later to ensure it was alright. It was. R u having symptoms? Crossing my fingers this is the right dose for you so you can move on with it, take ur daily pill and count calories. (Once you are on the correct dose, you lose weight like any average…

5'3 currently 146 and need to get at max 139!!! But I weight train so 139 May look better on me than someone who doesn't.

Lol that sounds awesome

My second week of a deficit was easier. First week I was emotional and hungry with pangs. Keep at it. Chugging water is a great idea. Challenge yourself. If its interrupting your sleep, try having a carby snack before bed (leave calories for it of course)

Add a new cheese like feta, a new seed/nut like sunflower seeds, and a new dressing to your salads. Try adding strawberries or apples with walnuts to sweeten it up and make for a crunchier salad.
