I lost over 110 pounds just by walking. I have started running lately, but walking at a brisk pace will certainly work.

Read your nutrition labels. Anything over 5 grams is considered to be "high fiber". After a discussion with my trainer last night, I'm going to adjust my training goal, thereby lowering my expected mileage for August to 75. Started with an easy 5k today.

Beautiful weather for a good 10k this morning. Will do another mile on the treadmill after supper so tomorrow I'll just need a 5k to reach my goal!!!

Hot and sticky 5k today. Doesn't look like I'll quite make my goal this month. It was a lofty goal, considering my previous high month was 83 miles. But I will get 100 next month!!!

Great advice already from @Azdak, @bkthandler, and @Cherimoose. I can only second what they say. Blood thinners and auto-immune conditions make your sisters case very specialized and should involve her doctor and a trained, licensed rehab specialist.

Try looking at cookinglight.com/food/recipe-finder for ideas. Just type in a food you will eat (like chicken), and it will pop up lots of great healthy recipes to try.

Not going to suggest a brand (but I do love my Brooks Adrenaline GTS15), but I will strongly recommend going to a specialty running store and getting properly fitted. Most of the people working in these stores are serious, if not professional, runners. They know the shoes and what will work best for your foot type, body…

Awesome success story! I've followed a similar path, losing 110 pounds over 4 years by eating smarter, tracking calories, and exercise. I still have another 25 pounds to lose, and will keep pushing until I get there! Thanks for sharing your story!
