  • I did week 5/day 1 this morning (after repeating week 4 with the goal of getting a bit stronger). I'm proud to say that (so far) I've been able to keep running the whole time on the running intervals. Today worried me a bit though as my breathing got a bit ragged toward the end of the last 5 minute running interval. I'm…
  • I log 160 for it as well. Better to err on the side of caution and overestimate the calorie count.
  • I'm new to this group! I'm on week 4/day 3 (I repeated the week since I found it difficult). I'm not a very good runner, but I've surprisingly become very addicted to it. Not sure what that's all about. I've signed up for several 5Ks this summer and a few 10Ks for the fall....nervous!

  • Bod Pod is only $50 where I live....huh. Maybe I'll get one done (when my body fat % is less embarrassingly high).
  • People using the word "loose" when they should be writing "lose". It happens on here constantly and, for reasons that aren't entirely clear, it is maddening to me.
  • My cousin smokes a pack a day but doesn't keep diet soda in her house because aspartame will kill you.

  • My cousin is buying these same stupid wraps. She is convinced that they somehow helped her fit into a pair of pants that had been too tight "for years". She isn't even overweight.

  • I just bought the book....but haven't read it yet....so, ummmm, following the thread I guess? LOL
  • Yes, it happens to me around ovulation as well. So twice a month! Yay for being a girl!!! That being said, the days following when the water weight drops and the fat losses are "unmasked" are pretty awesome :)
  • I hear you, OP. I'm dreading a relative's graduation this week because I know they will want to take pics. Ugh. I've lost 26 lbs but still can't stand how huge I look in pics. And don't even get me started on my most recent trip to the mall....talk about a case of the sads :(
  • I wish you all the success you deserve, @campjackson , but you've already learned that Nutrisystem isn't a good long term fix. You say in your profile that this is your 4th time on Nutrisystem because you keep gaining back the weight when you go off of it.
  • I've done both Nutrisystem and Medifast. Just thinking about that food makes me feel sick to my stomach. More power to you, OP....but I thought that food was just miserably gross!!!
  • I did Nutrisystem in the past and did lose a good bit of weight; however, I've now lost the same amount with CICO and MFP (in less time, actually). With CICO/MFP, I'm also learning to make better food choices for a sustainable lifestyle change. I was initially attracted to Nutrisystem because it felt easier to have someone…
  • When I started using this site 2 months ago, I thought some people in the forums sounded pretty harsh. I'd like to announce that, with threads like this, I now officially "get it". Holy frustration!!

  • Here are some other ideas I found searching the internet: *** For Munching*** - Frozen grapes - Air popped popcorn with various flavoring options (grated Parmesan cheese, chili powder, nutritional yeast, etc). - "Bare" brand Apple chips (dried apple slices that are the shape/size of potato chips) - Fresh blueberries ***…
  • Very helpful! Thanks everyone!
  • Well *kitten*, that's concerning. I'm not going hungry...I thought I could rely on hunger signals to indicate if my body needs more fuel.
  • With exercise (again burn numbers coming from Fitbit Charge HR), I've been consistently below the MFP recommended net 1200 cal/day. The days that the columns appear blank are the days when I've ended up with a negative net caloric intake. I feel fine and have lost 22 lbs in 56 days; I'm 5'3" and currently 169 lbs. Should I…
  • I'm 5'3" and 169 lbs. My HRM tells me I'm burning anywhere from 1000-1250 cals on the elliptical for 130 minutes. I enter this value in MFP because MFP itself usually overestimates the burn (ends up adding several hundred more cals). The HRM is the most accurate measure I have...not sure what else I'd use (machine and MFP…

  • So buying some of my meals when my schedule is overwhelming somehow translates into me having no ability to cook or knowledge of food prep? I've already lost 20 lbs preparing my own foods, so thanks for your concern, but not really a problem. I'd just like some healthy options for when my career is too busy to allow for…
