  • Here's a post to quote so you can quickly edit and add your update more easily: Relaxation - Exercise - Alcohol usage - Creativity - Home - Work - Eating in moderation - Learning - Life! -
  • Pretty much the same as last week! All good. This week's lunches: 500g Pulse pasta from Aldi (made of chick peas, borlotti beans, red lentil flour) 40g Edamame Small tin of salmon 250g Diced pumpkin 250 g spinach Tomato & garlic pasta sauce Green peppercorns Parmesan on top added after photo taken. Proud of some sewing…
  • Thanks, @smoofinator  How are you going? Today my moving average weight AND my scale weight today (65 kg) are exactly in the middle of my goal weight range (64-66 kg). Haha, not often they all align, though they've all been within range for 3+ years. Did some embroidery of my own design on a little black singlet…
  • Thanks, katharmonic! My goal is a HM distance (or more) run. That will mean I'll have done at least one HM distance (or more) run every month for 2 years. I'm in it for the long haul. That means running as the runner I am, not the runner I want to be. I want to run regularly for years and years. I don't want to get…
  • A reminder. Thinking, "Woo Hoo" means "Woo" is like thinking, "Yeah Yeah" means "Yes".
  • Relaxation - Good, finally! Exercise - Did a 22 km run yesterday, and felt great today. Alcohol usage - None. Creativity - Daily. Home - Very organised! Ticking off lots of jobs. Work - Incredibly busy. End of financial year is always crazy, but I realised as well that I'm doing the job of 2 people and need to offload some…
  • Hugs. That person is the person that also lost the weight and made amends for their "mistakes" the majority makes, and that person is sorry they were "wrong". I'm sure you would forgive a friend who is sorry and has made amends.
  • @kimny72 is absolutely spot on. You've lost 11 kg, that's awesome! And you're aiming for a lovely weight for a female of your age/height. Are you being shamed for your eating? :disappointed: Despite losing that weight in your own way? Not liking beetroot makes you perfectly normal in my book. Nobody has the right to force…
  • @jaroby Excellent questions. The general rules is that breastfeeding usually uses 500 calories a day, which might help you work out your past deficit or maintenance calories during nursing. I've always used a smart watch with heartrate monitor to calculate my exercise burns, and they have been very accurate. Some smart…
  • Started the June thread while I had time today. Sorry it's a bit early! https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10745795/less-alcohol-june-2019-one-day-at-a-time
  • I started a thread for June while I had the time today. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10745791/june-2019-self-care-challenge
  • Aww, thanks so much!! Thanks! Yes, it really is a huge lesson to learn. People can't seem to work out that they're burning the weight loss candle at both ends. Plus a lot of the old advice (before fitness trackers were so accurate) was that you should only eat back half your exercise burns. Old threads get bumped, and the…
  • NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) helped/helps you lose more weight, keep it off, and make your house look so much tidier, yet you feel conflicted about being annoyed at your overweight partner when they don't pick up after themselves, even though you used to be like that and found it hard to drag your weight…
  • Thanks for posting that warning for others. I'll add that Happy Scale doesn't give you an estimated date to reach goal (or if it does somewhere I've never looked for it). I also always ignore the MFP notification about 1 month loss at the end of the day. I fear it encourages extreme deficits.
  • Thanks for the great article in the OP! "A review of 38 studies concluded protein is more satiating than carbs and fats in the 10-20% of energy intake range but not above that, indicating the average satiety sweet spot is a protein intake of 20% of energy intake, corresponding to about 1.2 g/kg/d for non-strength training…
  • @Tolstolobik You're so kind. How are you getting along? Anything in particular making a difference lately? And/or do you have any questions? Also, @diannethegeek you're kind of like my science yardstick. xo I wanted you to check out this thread.
  • Had a molar tooth extracted on Tuesday, which was rather traumatic even though I'm not scared of dentists at all. Haven't had any painkillers for 24 hours, but what I'd needed the first 24 is still making me feel foggy and vague. Relaxation - sleeping better. Not using my phone in the middle of the night when I wake up.…
  • @jenilla1 I love your post so much! It's so great to think things through oneself, and be inspired and comforted by others and how they deal with life.
  • I gave up caffeine (4-5 coffees a day) in October. (Didn't have any withdrawal symptoms or those headaches everyone seems to be afraid of.) Now I have less ups and downs. When I want a warm drink I'm enjoying decaf with almond, soy, or macadamia milk, or various caffeine-free teas. Now I even notice a much smaller effect…
  • Thanks for the appreciation, @ashleygroizard My weight has never gone down daily. That's perfectly normal, please don't worry. It depends on food, salt, exercise, hormones, fibre, water, stress levels and probably more things I've forgotten. I'm glad you realise you shouldn't get stuck on a number every day.
  • Thanks, Ruby! @SaraKim17 That sounds like a perfect day! You're so right about doing things like walks/runs with workmates! Highly recommend it! Yesterday I soaked my feet while reading online and scrubbed my heels then touched up the silver toenail polish. Today: I went for a 12.5 km run and ran on a couple of roads I…
  • Before parkrun, I started tidying up an old (Helmut Lang - inspired) jacket I designed that I love dearly, and will be repairing. Also finished a digital drawing. I was in charge of parkrun which is always stressful, but I was surprisingly relaxed (for me). Had a really good chat with a friend about his first 50 km run…
  • This is so insightful. I think we start out drinking for a quick "fix". Drinking (and eating) sensibly actually requires more thought. For me, the word, "prudence" sums it up. prudence noun pru·dence | \ ˈprü-dᵊn(t)s \ Definition of prudence 1 : the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason 2 :…
  • Here's Ruby's link to the new thread: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10741801/may-2019-self-care-challenge#latest Thanks so much, @RubyRed427 xo
  • I've received some lovely friend requests with beautiful messages from people who have been reading. This community is so special to me.
  • I sometimes check my Nomo app when I go to occasionally post in here. I only remember it was day 400 a while back. I'm not an "alcohol is poison" advocate. I just don't want the struggle of trying to have days off, and I feel fantastic, so I don't drink.
  • I'm still here, @NovusDies Day 454 Alcohol-free.
  • Day 454 Alcohol-free. Read the Helpful Posts in the general section. Most "serial starters" tend to starve/binge in cycles. A more moderate and gentle approach is best. Fast weight loss is bad, and makes people increasingly overweight over time. Read the OP in our Less Alcohol threads. So many tips from what everyone has…
  • Dawn, that's so great. @MissMay I sent you a PM.
