I quit smoking back in the late '80s. I gain a few pounds, but lost them later. Quitting smoking and dieting don't work too well together. On the other hand, smoking itself has long-term problems that make the weight gain from quitting the habit worth it.

Thinking about sparking up a doob. Hey, it's legal AND it gets me motivated. Jeez...I'm seeing now this is a 2-year-old thread. I hate when I resurrect some old thread that no one cares about anymore.

Kamelia, the cooking part I've found the be the best way to cut carbs/calories/fat/pick your poison. My only problem is I get tired of cooking everyday. lol I do make weekly menus which helps.

My poor eating leads to depression. *sigh* I was doing so good, logging food, eating healthy things, avoiding processed food. Mid-December had me falling off the wagon and I've eaten everything in sight for the past two weeks. I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off, and getting right back on that horse. Starting…

Is your family overweight? It almost sound like "sabotage by jealousy". I'm so sorry you had to experience that. Big (((hugs))) to you.

Gary Cole. I went to high school with him. He was pals with my big brother.

Good morning, ladies. I don't post much because I'm new here. I do enjoy reading the posts, however, and I hope to contribute more. We leave on vacation Sunday morning for two weeks. I have a plan for food choices so I don't gain too much. We'll be cruising so the temptations will be strong! The election was very stressful…

This seems like the best advice.

I work in a cubicle farm and there are candy jars all around me. *sigh* There have been days when I couldn't get in my afternoon snack. By the time I get home I'm gnawing off my arm and end up grazing all through dinner prep. Not good!

Tyler, I had a roommate with a tarantula named Spidey. She loved that spider and fed it anything she could catch in the yard. I could never bring myself to touch it, let alone hold it, but I did find it to be a fascinating creature. Fast forward 35 years and I now live in the Mojave desert, home to the tarantula. I see…

I retire in 18 months. I wanted to thank you for taking my place in the workforce and allowing me to live on the dole for the rest of my life. I predict many cruises to the Caribbean in my future.

Considering the amount of laundry that's piled in the bedroom closet. It won't wash itself.

Carol-I always liked the low carb way of life. My husband, on the other hand, love his pasta. I goofed and set the clocks forward this morning. Who does that?? I'll have another cup of coffee then start laundry and get my ironing done. Not much else to do today. We leave a week from today for NYC for a couple of days…

I agree that you should log it all. I tend to stop logging all together when the binges hit. Then I completely fall off the wagon for weeks before I shame myself into paying attention to what's going in my mouth.

Shells, I didn't know it was Disturbed that did the remake of Sound of Silence. They really made it work.

And it's been awhile Since I could hold my head up high And it's been awhile Since I first saw you And it's been awhile Since I could stand on my own two feet again And it's been awhile Since I could call you And everything I can't remember As *kitten* up as it all may seem The consequences that I've rendered I've…

Harsh. My disorder (other than not being able to hold my phone steady to take selfies so I take pictures of my cat instead) revolves around pain avoidance. If I know a work-out is going to make me uncomfortable, I take a nice, slow walk instead. I really need to get over that.

I have to do push-ups since I'm in the reserves. Fortunately, since I'm over 55, I only have to do a few of them. I injured my right wrist last spring and push-ups put my wrist in a painful position. I manage 10 and call it good. It seems fine that you can't do push-ups. You can do a whole lot of other things that are…

I'm that way with nuts of any kind. I really shouldn't even have them in the house. :*
