Success is trying one more time than you fail. If you failed in the past and your motivation is low, then you need help with motivation. 1. Throw out the crap - I don't have if you have 100 euros or 100 dollars worth of treats in your cupboard - give them to the homeless or a charity or a kids hospital or something. 2. Go…

You look much younger now than you did on your wedding day.

Good stuff. Keep going!

I don't want to sound like a cliché but I'm an Irish guy so you can imagine the culture of drinking here. I think this is a great idea.

Hey Vismal, I've been reading your advice. Very logical and very detailed, but most importantly it makes me feel like it is achievable. Just wanted to say thanks. Tom

Well done mate!

Wow. Awesome. How much did you lose?

Good thinking. As regards emotional eating, I like my job but my boss puts serious pressure on me. I do find the vending machine purchases are increased when the chips are down.

No magic solution but drinking water really helps.

"Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." - Shakespear, Measure by Measure Fear of failure is very common. I had it in my career and it really held me back. Try reading life affirming stuff. If your religious, read stuff that will encourage you. Personally I'm not…

I think I just needed to write down the above post so I could articulate it for myself. We all know that empirically it's not rocket science; eat less, evercise more. I agree that there are no bad foods, just bad portions. I had 5 beer pints last Friday as I felt like I was being let off the leash. (I live beside a pub -…

I find it great. I cycle 10ks (about 6 miles) into work and 10ks uphill home every day. We have showers at work and I live in a God-awful city for traffic (Dublin) so it's win win for me. I save time on my commute. It doesn't impact your knees like road running. It's cheap (though not as cheap as running) and depending on…

HIIT is very hard and isn't designed as a starting point. It can have great results and it might actually be possible that you are starting to see some definition. If you're enjoying HIIT, go for it. But most people stick with a gradual build up plan.

I was in a photo with my "fat friend" and I was almost as fat.

Good for you.

Rock on dude! Keep it going.

Great and very valid question. I assume by your name there's some Irish connection? Anyway I live in Ireland and here we often wish we were more like the Americans and their "Good for you" attitude. I hope this story helps. I was bullied tremendously in school. I was a high achiever in a very underachieving neigbourhood so…

Every mature person in a stable relationship will simply say "be the best version of yourself". Then hopefully when you have an off day (you get yelled at by your boss or get a parking ticket you didn't deserve) she'll know that you're a decent guy and will put up with you. Ask her questions and listen. (Also it wasn't…

Lol...honesty.

Asked and answered. Some girls (not all) put a lot of store into looks. Or perhaps he has a shy charm that some girls find attractive. What everybody of every gender and orientation is looking for is the magic combination of someone who is good looking without being vain.
-
This goes without saying....but won't get anybody a girlfriend on its own. Keep trim, don't drink too much, dress smartly, be witty, engage her in conversation all the time (and if she's worth it, she'll recognise this and be the kind of the girl you want and engage you about your interests too, but for starters, make it…

3 months ago, it would have taken 50 minutes....not that I would have tried. I did 6 k (about 3 miles) in 24 mins today. Instead of jogging 3 miles, just jog 2 and walk one.....work up. You'll get there buddy. Remember weightloss is like any other goal. S-M-A-R-T Specific Measureable Attainable Relevant Time Bound Break it…

My favourite motivational quote of all time was used by my old boss. "If it is to be, it is up to me!"

Well done. I'm as charming as **** but I got married before I got fat. After I put on weight, I genuinely felt invisible, not that I was looking. However now, I'm definitely getting more attention.
-
Definitely noticeable. Keep it up!

Be sure to reward youself with something other than food - new clothes, new XBox game, etc. Everybody is different but I find that buying good quality clothes makes you feel better after you lose weight. Combined with a sharp haircut, you'll look and feel like a different person, especially if you've lost 10kgs.

Great job. The fact that you were on a SegWay in the first shot says it all.
