This…resonates. I feel the exact same way sometimes!! Ok, often!! o:) The last few months have been that way for sure…I know what to do and how to do it, but my brain says “no” like a rebellious toddler sometimes. I have no good advice, but I’m sending supportive thoughts your way! Be kind to yourself, value progress over…

I use the Happy Scale app because it provides trend lines and while I do still see and record my actual weight, I can focus on my current and goal rate of loss per week instead. Also, you should invent a scale that shows only your progress! I would buy one 😁

Yup, I’m gonna echo everyone else - losing about 1% of your weight per week should be your max goal. 20kg would be really rough on you in that amount of time. As someone who has made the mistake of trying to crash diet multiple times, I can also tell you that it’s pretty likely to backfire when you get super hungry and…

Digital food scale is a great investment if you don’t have one yet! It keeps me honest and aware of my exact calories in. Out of curiosity, why are you planning to limit your protein and fat intake? I’m far from an expert on macros, but that seems low on the protein.

I would suggest a checkup with your doctor to rule out any medical reason that you’re suddenly getting full so fast. Hopefully all is well, but it’s always a good idea to double check when you notice a major change in your body’s patterns. Assuming that’s a green light, maybe feeling full is a good thing that means you’re…

I’m glad I’m not the only one at least! I went in and changed it back, and realized it had reset my macros as well, so I had to change those percentages as well. Hopefully it was just a one time glitch!

Lol! I wonder why blue? At least painting burns some calories? :D

Just get back on your normal eating plan tomorrow - and CONGRATULATE YOURSELF for getting back on track so quickly! That’s a big win. I used to binge fairly often in the past, and I did find that drinking hot tea the next day could help settle my tummy and decrease bloat.
-
Yup, I second that!

1. My friend who expects me to get out of bed in the morning and go walk with her. 2. My dog who is really happy to go too. 3. Digital food scale for that reality check. 4. Traeger smoker grill - the most tender delicious chicken ever, with no oil! 5. Goat cheese - I am completely addicted to the soft crumbly kind. It’s an…

I’m not great at a 1200 calorie diet. It’s just too restrictive. But what has worked well for me in the past is a 1200 calorie NET diet - if I count exercise calories, then I can often eat 1500+ calories a day and still net 1200. Much easier (at least for me personally) to eat full meals and not feel too deprived.

Yeah, it’s a thing! For me it’s more my period that makes me bloated, but ovulation can be a cause too. I like the app Happy Scale because it does the math on your weigh ins and helps “smooth out” those fluctuations and show your actual weight trend more clearly. It keeps me sane when I’m trying to lose weight because it…

Do you two have your baseline activity levels set differently? I find that the activity level I select affects when it starts adjusting my Cals for steps - I don’t know what the algorithm is, but I can sometimes end up with a negative calorie adjustment if I forget to carry my phone to record steps. If I set to activity to…

I was in the 190s for so long that no matter what the scale says my brain says “19...”, even when that means anxiety induced dyslexia. This morning I read “196”. Then I laughed at myself and realized I hadn’t magically regained all the weight, it actually said “169” :# B)

“Counting calories doesn’t work” is most common (though not the most entertaining) bad weight loss wisdom I encounter. I think the bad advice I enjoy the most is the extremely specific, looong lists of requirements, as if losing weight is some sort of arcane ritual. :o Guess those fruit popsicles I love so much will make…

Don’t be afraid of lifting heavy. There’s a great thread in success stories with ladies who lift. Swimming is also awesome for arms, at least for me! My arms have gone from “ready for takeoff” to “is that a muscle? Yes, yes it is!” :p lots of swimming this summer, lost only 1 inch off upper arms but what a difference in…

The Asian food advice I give myself: Stay away from fried anything (I’m looking at you, delicious crab Rangoon). Pick something with your favorite protein and lots of veggies. And enjoy the rice, but not all of it.
-
Pick the way that works best for you and stick with it. There’s no wrong answer!

Any chance you can get a mini fridge (assuming you’re in a dorm?) Tons of salad and wrap options with access to some precooked chicken and a variety of veggies. If you can have an electric kettle, you can totally cook eggs in there. Eggs are super cheap healthy protein.
-
100% agree. Eat all the eggs! Just...not raw Rocky style lol :D

I’m sure it’s different for everyone, but it took about three weeks eating well for my skin to clear up, and there was a brief time when it seemed to get worse before it got better. One tip is when I work out (sweat) and/or wear sunscreen, rinsing my face asap really helps my skin stay clear.

Wow wow wow! So inspiring! Great job :)

Don’t give up! I started swimming again last summer 1 lap and rest, 1 lap, rest. Now I can do 50+ without stopping, and I taught myself to swim freestyle! I enjoy youtube videos for learning how to swim better (I was competent at not drowning, but an ungraceful swimmer with poor technique) - I watch Skills NT Swimming…

Wow! Your arms are awesome. Hope I can achieve similar!

:p I put ketchup on my Mac and cheese...but only leftover reheated Mac and cheese I eat frozen peas as a snack.
-
Great job! What a difference, and you look so happy in your after photo B)

I don’t hide it and I don’t advertise it either. I think people assume I’m sending a quick text, most of the time. If you really want to log and don’t feel comfortable doing it at the table, excusing yourself to the restroom for a couple minutes might be the easiest way to log without eliciting comments and “free advice”…

If you have access to a stove, I’d recommend a freezer meals program - you only have to actually cook 1-2x per month, then you can use the microwave to thaw and reheat or at most chop some fresh veggies to add to your main dish most of the time. I agree with the earlier slow cooker recommendation too - if you can cut up…

To get into the 160s before my man gets home from deployment...22 lbs down, just 5 lbs left to go!

1300, plus eat back ~1/2 of exercise cals.
