  • You can look at my diary from Friday as I had a day where I just didn't stop eating. My grand total hit I think 3,700 calories. Why? I really don't know. I was at work and I just pigged out. I logged it, I'm not thrilled about it, obviously, but it happened and my goal for the rest of the week is to step it up and try not…
  • I'm a vet tech and I wouldn't do it, to be honest. I get that your boy is a border collie used to a lot of exercise, but I wouldn't do it, personally. The reason that your guy likes his 5 mile walk is because it's so mentally stimulating. A treadmill won't give him the same effect. It might make you feel better about the…
  • Me too!! I'm really hoping I'm finished losing from the chest and butt!
  • I use the jaybirds and they're awesome but I use it with my phone. I suppose it depends on how you work out, but if I were to use and iPod and adapter, it wouldn't fit well into my armband. I use the armband when I'm running on the road because the jaybirds constantly cut out if the phone isn't on the right hand side (they…
  • My SO has been really sweet. When I weighed myself for the first time in a long time, I realized I had gained about 25 pounds since last weighing myself. I was really upset, but he just supported me in losing weight. Since then, he has told me when he notices new changes. He eats all of my cooking and says he likes it. He…
  • I LOVE Indian food! I haven't cut it out. I'm making healthier versions of it myself! Skinnytaste has a chicken curry recipe that was delicious. Are large bowl of it was only ~250 calories. I made the chicken tikka masala from Skinnytaste, though, and it really wasn't good without a creamy sauce (loaded with heavy cream).…
  • I known it's close to cereal, but I love having oats. 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup (40g) oats, 1 Tbsp honey is my favorite. Most people add fresh fruit in lieu of honey. My other go-to is an egg over easy with a 7g (~1/2 slice) American cheese on an open faced sandwich. I eat it with a yogurt.
  • Seconding this link. I was impressed with the amount of information. Tbh I don't care about the bloating or lifting benefits. I was just interested in research on creatine and kidneys (I'm a nurse) If you have kidney issues, I would err on the side of caution and avoid it. It's notable to add that it probably would be…
  • Sounds like an excellent change. Firmly supporting the lifestyle overhaul you've done as it really sounds fun (minus gross toilets and questionable meat)
  • Just in to say the idea of no pizza ever again makes me very very sad! lol! I live close to NYC so pizza is a staple of my diet. Every Friday after weigh in is pizza day
  • This is exactly what I do. I have a job where I'm most always spending 12-18 hours on my feet walking, squatting, running, etc but I set myself at lightly active as well. After those shifts I might go home and sleep for a solid 10 hours and laze around the next day. As long as it balances out, I see no issues. If you start…
  • Mine was a whopping $12 Weight Watchers scale on sale in Walgreens. It consistently goes down, which is all I really want from a scale. You can go to Bed, Bath and Beyond and spend $200 on a wifi scale that makes guesses at body composition, but the numbers are, again, guesses. I would just spend the money on a digital one…
  • I work long shifts in ER. Either evening through the overnight or just an overnight. I can't have food in our treatment room (head criticalist will have my head) so I have things that I can eat in <2mins. Cheese sticks, cut up fruit and veggies, small salad, small portion of my dinner, etc. I can have drinks, so I'll bring…
  • Good read. At the very least, it encourages me to use the steel cut oats in my cabinet that I've been avoiding.
  • While there are a ton of options to make them lower calorie, I just wanted to give you a way to make the ranch itself lower calorie since it seems to be your favorite. I mix 0% Greek yogurt with some of a dry ranch seasoning packet and just thin it out to preferred consistency with buttermilk (without the buttermilk it's…
  • I'm feeling it too, believe me! I took a major calories hit Saturday with several servings of skittles, starburst, Oreos, a bagel, etc. It totally wasn't worth it (Actually, the Oreos probably were.) I'm happy to see this post, though, because it helps me know it's not only me toughing through the last 15!
  • Sounds like a recipe for pancreatitis to me, but to each his own, I suppose.
  • Looks almost identical to my diet a few months ago.
  • I really loved my old gym. It had the cardio cinema, so it was cool and dark and I watched a movie while I ran. It kept me from getting bored. It was 3 levels, with basketball courts, racquetball courts, a circuit, two weight rooms one which had trainers to give tips on form, a big pool and a ton of classes. It was…
  • I tried it once. It didn't work well for me. I was ravenous after the gym and would come home to chow down on a chocolate pudding cup. When I worked out regularly and didn't count calories but was mindful of what I was eating, I was more successful.
  • I think it's odd that they need to know where you are at all times. I'm 21 and live on my own. I call my parents about once a week to chat. I would feel completely suffocated if they needed me to constantly be in touch. Even when I was in high school, I didn't have to contact them all the time. There is a line between…
  • 21 here and would love to give/take support
  • Keep going. You'll see a change. Reading the NSV thread in the success stories section always helped me to realize I was making small gains and changes were occurring, even if I didn't feel I looked different. One thing is for sure: if you stop now, you'll never see the change you want
  • I take melatonin, but I haven't experienced weight gain. I'm still losing regularly on it.
  • Seconding this! I make the recipes regularly. Growing up with Italian cooking, chicken parm was a standard dish in my mom's rotation. I tried hers without much hope that it would be good. My brother was staying with me, so I fed it to him as well. It was delicious! There is also a healthier Mac and cheese, breaded chicken,…
  • I can sympathize with being a perfectionist! I am one as well! As far as the workout routine goes, I was CONSTANTLY stressing over this! I started C25K but I was so disappointed with myself after attempting and failing miserably at the first day that I quit. Instead, I joined a gym and kind of attempted to run before…
  • I don't do food rewards or things go south for me. My birthday was a few days ago, and I wanted to wear a dress to dinner. I tried on about 7 dresses and, honestly, they all looked good. I thought I was going to cry from happiness. I only needed one, so I took what looked best. I needed a size smaller than normal. That…
  • The only thing I really liked about skinny pop was that it comes pre-portioned. When I watched a movie yesterday, I was good and weighed out exactly however many grams the boom chicka pop serving is and exactly how many grams of dark chocolate and put it away before the movie.
  • I bought it and it was ok for me to munch on through a movie at home. It's pretty bland, though (compared to other buttered popcorn). If it's a more buttery taste you're looking for, try the Quaker buttered popcorn rice cakes. I never would've considered them, but picked them up on a whim one day and they're SO good. Plus,…
