  • how much more do you still need to lose and ow many calories are you eating daily -- does it meet your weight loss goals goals? or is it closer to maintenance? I'm sure you've looked at this -esp. since you had a nutritionist. What is your macro ratio? I know this sounds scary-but have you ever tried to just give it a…
  • Please do add me! I reached my weight goal and am trying to just maintain forget the scale number and get stronger and leaner. Very hard ..feel like I'm aimless ;-)
  • What are your macros? You may need to shake things up - adjust your macros to more efficiently suit your metabolism and needs and /or change your work outs a bit. The body gets acclamated and more efficient at doing the same thing. But also to your question-- overtraining can stall weight loss especially if you're not…
  • I always remember where I came from and focus on being grateful for how good I feel and look from the work I did to get here. I do not want to go back to being overweight. I also think about how blessed I am that I have legs to run, and a healthy body I can move. We take it for granted that we can. Imagine if you couldn't…
  • Start with focusing on creating the habit - make it easy to work into your life. work out 10 minutes 3 days a week for instance. Even if u hate it (which u will) do it anyway - even if you do it half assed. You did it. Also start with just worrying about how many calories - not so much fat, carbs , etc. you eat daily. just…
  • Intervals!!! Speed play! Make a goal to get stronger and faster ! If running a longer period of time is boring to you then why make it a goal? You might enjoy shorter and more intense. And intervals can help you reach to 3 miles in 30 minutes. (10 minute mile) Makes it much more fun and interesting. Check out the app…
  • I hear ya! Is this the last 5 for you? I lost 40 pounds and now need to get that last cling-on fat off - I'd say it's about 5 pounds. I'm really happy with where I'm at but that stubborn fat just irks me! Have you tried carb cycling? I've found just a short bout of it - change in my macros helped to break a plateau in the…
  • I'm a writer and sit all day- commute for an hour each way too! I'm active. - run, HIIT workouts and circuit training. Sounds like you're active but it certainly wouldn't hurt to kick it up a notch. Take it from a gal- your buttocks are in danger ! Lolol. Seriously - all that sitting doesn't help with aging buttock muscles…
  • Progress, not perfection!
  • Yes it is possible - with focus. I'm at my last 5 lbs now and struggled with my last 10 not too long ago. Its not just about calorie deficit but macros become much mot important the leaner u try to become and the Better in shape you become. ! I also throw in carb cycling days if I got plateau (not too long because I hate…
  • Whatever it is -- I suggest selecting something high fiber paired with a protein/moderate fat. For example- I love weight control oatmeal -- it has protein in it and It's fiber. I find if things don't have enough fat or fiber, I'm left feeling hungry. Even a slice of cheddar or string cheese with a few low-fat triscuits..…
  • Gee I think you're getting confused because people aren't articulating things correctly or clearly. Muscle does weigh more than fat..its denser. That is all. And you will gain some muscle if you start doing some form of training that is pushing your muscles to repair themselves and grow. However at the stage you're in I…
  • I know how that feels. But You are not alone. Everyone struggles and battles their personal remind. You can do it!
  • Great hearing from you all. Stretching definitely cannot be skipped. My core is out of shape. Just walking for a half hour leaves my lower back stiff! Thinking I may incorporate yoga into my weekly workout to help. I've done hot yoga in the last and it's awesome...I experienced the best results when I came to flexibility…
  • Ice cream!!!! And I am lactose intolerant and I still eat it its so good! And cheese, wine and margaritas! Already thinking about how I will have to cut carbs to plan my margarita nights this summer ( worried about that one! )
  • I'd love it! I just started with MFP and my workout. Looking to connect with peeps who wanna share the ups, downs, vent, laugh, celebrate wins and share ideas and advice. :)
  • Me too! 43, g and officially heaviest I have ever been. Busy with home, work, life and kid for the past 15 years of my life. Used to be a fitness and nutrition devotee, active and energetic. Time for a renaissance! ;)
  • Yes. I am short on patience too and get anxious and bored. It's so easy to lose focus. I've done the same on and off. I am my heaviest now too. Time to accept it for what it is. My new coping mechanism for cravings: chewing sugarless GUM! It totally works for me. Stick with it. And focus on creating the good habits. Not…
  • Hi Stacey! I feel like we have some things in common. I just started 2 days ago and me too, want to get back to the ME I once once..the more energetic, happier, active, and thinner woman I was. After only 2 days I feel like my "old self". I am a bit older than you (my son's 12 now) and I totally can identify with not…
  • Feel free to add me! I just started with MFP 2 days ago when I started my workout. Need to lose 30 pounds. I'm gung ho now.. need to keep it up, though. I know how that goes so let's help each other out when the excitement wanes and keep the motivation and focus going.
  • I've been in lexapro foryears now. If I work hard at it and watch my diet I've been successful losing weight. I am not sure what your age or activity/work is but I can say getting older has more impact than the less. I am 43 now and I find I can't get away with "cheating" like I used to. Check your diet vs your calories…
  • K. That was tough but good. But damn! The seat pain was worse than the workout!! Lol. At one point I had to stop because of that. Thanks for the advice. Is like to stick with once a week and get Better
  • Thanks for the tips @lmjohnson110 !
  • If you're not tackling alot of other food challenges right now, I'd recommend weaning off of it. I don't believe you won't lose weight by drinking it, but overall, you'll do better without it. It's loaded with sweetners and I do believe it will keep your sweet-drink cravings going. I only drink flavored seltzer waters. I…
  • Thanks guys! I'm going for it! Signed up and going after work. I agree-- ccat1987. I can always pace myself
  • Yeah.. I took it a about 20 years ago when I was just getting into the gym for the first time.. I remember how tough it was! Never pursued it and did other things. But I know tons of people who swear by it and have gotten great results. My feet tend to get tired easily so I can't do too much treadmilling and aerobic…
  • Hi, I just got started so a little late to this thread. But, I thought I'd share my experience. I had a trainer who advised work through it, it actually helps with the stiffness and pain. And she was right. You can take the rest day--need to-- but no more than typically, unless of course,, you've injured yourself.
  • Would love to be friends and motivate each other. I am mother of a 12 year old and work full time and commute. Am now 30 pounds overweight. Heaviest I have ever been. Used to be a fitness and nutrition nut so know how just need to do! Just started back today!
  • Hi there! I have similar goals. I never do these community things as I never follow through. However, I'm dead serious about losing weight. I'm heaviest I've ever been. 160 and I want to get down to 130! I am aiming to work out 5 days /week because I'm anxious. Worried it won't happen due to life getting in the way, of…
