Right now my calorie intake is 1398 calories. When I was 250 pounds, I have no idea what it was..but when I started losing, it was 1850 for a long time. That seems high, but I was trying not to destroy my metabolism. I used my fitness pal and found out how many calories to lose 1 pound a week. Due to exercise, I lost more…

Age 42 5'5" CW 145 and 26% body fat (22% according to "official" results - but I can't afford those very often so I'm going with my scale, which says 26%) GW 126 and/or 20% body fat Calories: 1360 Workout: Lifting 5-6 days a week. Cardio about 20 minutes daily, usually of the HIIT variety

I'd love to be a friend. We have a lot in common. I'm 42 years old. I went from 250 to my current weight of 147. I'm a size 6 (I'm 5'5) at 147 so I'm guessing you'll be smaller than a 12 at 160. It sort of depends on body structure. I'm pretty muscular I guess. Anyway, I'd love to have more fitness pal friends with common…

That's sweet. You're either a student or a writer I think :-)

Hair dresser, or sells make up (someone beat me to it, but this one was for the blonde). For the pic above me (now) I guess teacher or lawyer.

I'm pretty overwhelmed with all your encouragement and support. I know many have lost way more, and made much more progress. I'm still working on it, every single day.

At first it was 100% diet. I didn't exercise at all while in a caloric deficit. The last 20 pounds was done eating maintenance calories and exercise, primarily weight training. It was SLOW... The first 80 took a year. The last 20 took about 8 months. I'd like to lose about 20 more (or get down to 20% body fat) but I know…

Sometimes athletes lose their periods completely. It's perfectly normal (and actually I appreciate the break...)

I confess I just ate a giant spoonful of peanut butter (not the natural kind) and justified it because it's protein..? lol

I lost 100 in a little over a year...and it's the best thing you'll ever do for yourself. Since you asked for support I will make one suggestion. Do it 100% with diet for at least the first 50 pounds. If you feel like taking a walk, do it. But keep weight loss a diet thing... it's very difficult to exercise effectively on…

Exercising on a calorie deficit is extremely difficult - and may back fire in the long run. I'd say weight loss is 100% diet. I lost 95 pounds, 100% diet. Exercise built me back up when I was able to eat to maintain and gain muscle.

Am I in trouble again??

Thanks! OMG...yes... the seats felt totally different and the heat didn't bother me as much either!! Thanks! I didn't eat it. lol It was my birthday and it was there for the picture. My family ate it for me. Ha!

I do feel like a different person. I look back when I was 250 pounds and I'm not even sure who that person is. It's sad I spent 15 years like that. Thanks so much to everyone!! I wish I had the time to respond to everyone individually - I'm just so appreciative of your encouragement. (NextPage I also like having short hair…

Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement :-)

That's so awesome! I've been at 24 for about a year now - started over 40... so yeah, I know how it is to be considered "normal".... it's so weird isn't it!! Congratulations!!

I'm 42. Try excellent nutrition in a slight calorie deficit, and lifting weights.... a little cardio (HIIT is best), but concentrate on building muscle. I would like to add that when I was 39 years old, I weighed 250. I'm now 145 and in better shape than i was in my 20's...

It's about a 6 month span. Top picture is 144

I guess it sort of depends on how tall you are. But I'm 5'5. This is from 170 to 144

I'd like to slow down this thread...I can't keep up! lol

You can do it. A year ago I was 250 and now I'm 142. Really just cut out sugar and started snacking on things like sunflower seeds. Focus on nutrition and don't cut calories too drastically. You can do it!
