I think my loose skin has tightened a "bit" during maintenance. This is an 8 week comparison (only one pound actually lost) during weight training and eating maintenance calories. Sorry for the awful picture quality.

One thing that helped me when I was losing these last 20 pounds (I've lost 105 total) was eating "maintenance" calories for a week, then deficit calories for a week, and then back to maintenance. The funny thing is, I lost more weight during the maintenance phases. I think it's because I had more energy...

The only thing that makes it harder after kids is they take up all your time and energy and they suck the living life out of you....so yeah, it's harder...lol my kid is 20 now so now it's starting to get a "little" easier..

I dont know any way to gain muscle without exercise, specifically lifting weights...other exercises will tone your muscles. I think what you're looking for is called body "recomp" but it definitely involves exercise.

If you have access to a pool, lay on your back (a pool noodle or something to hold your shoulders above water works great) and raise your knees to your chest. I have a hernia, so I do my ab exercises in water.

How do you know that Dunkin Donuts is using real cream? Half and half will have carbs, and milk has carbs, as do powdered creamers. The only cream without carbs is REAL cream, like heavy cream.

Only if you are tracking what your personal weight lifting records are...I do it, but not here. I don't see the benefit. Logging it is too much trouble and I keep it in my gym book anyway.

I'm in my 40's and found that weight training was key, along with diet. Good news though...I hear when we are 80, our appetites diminish. I personally didn't want to wait that long. ;-)

You can absolutely do this. Set your calories at maintenance and don't calculate exercise. I lost 105 pounds and my last 30 pounds were lost this exact way... you'll preserve muscle and you'll feel better. Exercising on a calorie deficit is extremely difficult...
