The exercises look good, but one set is probably not going to do it unless you know exactly what your max is. It's not a dumb question and I'm really still figuring this out myself... I've been on maintenance for a year, up and down over the same 3 pounds. So I guess I'm maintaining..but my calories are crazy. I'm well over 2000 most days and never lower than 1600. I'm only 5'5 and maintaining at 144 I should add I do at least 30…

I lost 105 pounds while on the depo shot... so I'm not sure why it has the reputation for causing weight gain. I can't go off of it, because otherwise I get horribly anemic from blood loss.

Diet. Diet. Diet. You can't out exercise enough to offset a bad diet. Just make sure you're at a slight caloric deficit every day and you'll lose weight. Time takes care of the rest. I lost 105 pounds. It took a year.

Just saying. If you want to get bulky, you can do that, but it takes a lot of work. You're not going to get there by accident

Just be sure to smile. Same day, different faces... can make all the difference. I don't walk around like this though... lol!! I was cooking and someone in my family said "Flex" and I forgot to smile...so there it is ;-)

If you want skinny flabby spaghetti arms, stop lifting. Simple. If not, keep lifting and keep your eyes on your own goals.

So how much of a calorie surplus are we talking about? Can I just go over maintenance by 100 calories a day and gain muscle, or does it have to be more?

I quit smoking 5 years ago, weight was not affected. But you MUST replace that habit with something else... exercise (even walking), meditating, writing (journaling), ANYTHING. Well, preferably not food related...

This may be overly simple but you might be gaining girth due to CrossFit...Crossfit builds an extremely strong core. Building abdominal muscles will actually make your abdominals bigger until the fat is lost. I would eat at maintenance calories for a while and see what happens.

This. "Eating healthy and exercising" means nothing when it comes to weight loss. It's good for general health, but for weight loss, it's just a calorie deficit that matters

Careful... This works if you only drink a cup or two...and only use a tsp. A tsp isn't very big... I tend to use 2 TBSP of powder which is 6 tsp..and 60 calories does count, especially if you drink 5 cups a day like I do.

I have an addiction to Sugar free vanilla coffee mate... it's total garbage. I lost 105 pounds - it took a year. Give yourself time, don't try to cut calories too drastically and don't rely on exercise to offset a poor diet. You can do it. Lose 10 pounds...do it 9 more times. :smiley:

You'd be surprised how many people don't know about the conflict between Iron and Calcium. Still, vitamin companies continue to combine the two in almost equal amounts

If you're like me, pills do very little good (and they tend to um...constipate) and I generally don't like iron rich foods...so I take Floradix. It's a liquid Iron supplement. Tastes like apple juice. You can get it at any health food store.

I make 6 cups of rice on Monday morning. We buy bags of frozen pre-cooked grilled chicken and frozen veggies. My husband makes his own "chicken bowls" (1 cup rice, 6 oz chicken, 1 cup veggies) and adds whatever sauce he wants. Fortunately he likes chicken bowls and never gets tired of this. I can't tolerate veggies either, but I do put a greens powder in my protein shake each day so I get the nutrients.
