Well, I do IIFYM so I eat whatever I want, so the impulse to cheat isn't there because nothing is off-limits on IIFYM. But I do have a cheat meal every two weeks. Planned and scheduled. Keeps me from going off the rails during the week and on the actual day, as I've meticulously planned what I'm having and how much.

Been lifting since December. It's working out well!

You guys are the best. Definitely motivating and encouraging to know my effort is actually yielding results, because sometimes I simply don't see it.

It's probably easy to maintain when you're normal height, can walk, and are a reasonable weight. Me? I'm 4'11", in a wheelchair, and I am 119 lbs. So, my maintenance calories are 1540 at my goal weight. I cannot play that amount by ear. I have to weigh and log everything that goes past my lips. And I've been doing it for…

Thank you! =)

Lil update... I'm down 88 lbs and looking better and better!

I'm not a proponent of low-carb diets, but I'm also not you. So, I can't say what is best for you, because you are not me. For me? I'm 10% body fat and I consume 250 grams of carbs per day. Works for me, so I stick to it. My body fat was much higher with low or moderate carbs eating the same amount of calories. Whether it…

Yup, used to be around 140/90, now it's 115/65.

I eat candy every single day. Ice cream once or twice a week.

I'm glad to hear they take credit cards *now* because before they did not.

1. It's cheap. It's cheap because you bring your own bags, bag your own food, and you pay a quarter to use the carts. Also, no credit cards.

<--- that's me doing the 10K right here.
-
Let me tell ya something... I'm in a wheelchair. I decided "I am going to do a 10K!" about ~6 weeks before the 10K. I smashed that 10K so hard I finished in 51 minutes. In a wheelchair. Among able-bodied runners. You can do it.

If it fits into my macros, I eat it, perceived healthiness or not.

Halo Top is great when put in the microwave for 20 seconds. It definitely needs to be softened. It tastes like real ice cream though, which is amazing. Fits right into my macros.

Thank you guys. :) Lost another pound! :)

My normal every day crutches are forearm. Underarm crutches don't allow a lot of maneuverability. I wouldn't recommend them at all. I only bought them because they collapse for easier storage in overhead compartments in airplanes, because I travel a lot.

The most irritating thing about that surgery was waiting for the clearance to workout again after it. The day he said I could I jumped back into it. As it is I had to force myself to take a rest day today and it's kinda killing me.
-
Thank you!! :)

I've inadvertently made a lot of able bodied people feel bad because of the excuses they make, when I workout 6 days a week and eat right. I guess it puts things in perspective when you see somebody who has hardships just getting it done day in day out, not allowing it to hold you back from being the best you could be.

Birth defect here too, Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele.

I do this, plus seated upper body Tabata, and a minimum of 5 miles wheeling at 8 minutes per mile 4x a week.

Thanks everyone!!

Thank you.

I seriously didn't see it until I made this side by side. Funny how we're unable to see ourselves until we see how we used to be, huh?
-
Thank you. Can't wait to see what the next 9 months bring.

Thanks everyone!! :)
