I downloaded the Libra app and I can’t figure out how it is any better than just looking at your trend on MFP under “progress.” I don’t understand what is so great about Libra. I connected it to MFP, but Ikm not getting the types of trend data I see other people post on here. Libra just seems to duplicate the data that’s…

Spin class, lifting and long hikes with a healthy amount of elevation gain. In winter, snowshoeing and backcountry skiing.

Best thread I think I’ve ever read on these forums.

Torrid is a plus size clothing store.

I live in a rural area and work out at a small minimally-staffed 24/7 gym. My biggest peeve is people who leave their weightlifting plates strewn everywhere so you have to go search for a plate, leave benches pulled out into the middle of the floor and don’t even bother to take the 45 pound plates off the squat rack…

Re: weekend plans, hubby and I are going hiking Sat and then to a free concert in the park where there will be dancing. I love summer!

I usually lift every other day, whether or not I’m sore, unless I’ve REALLY overdone something. A bit sore is fine, a lot sore probably needs one more rest day. But it’s different for everyone. Listen to your body.

I usually log 1 Tbsp of marinade per piece of meat.

I work from home and am almost completely sedentary when I’m not actually doing a workout, except for weekends when I’m more active overall. Watching calories is key for me. Also working out regularly; I usually do some type of workout 5-6 days a week. I am losing steadily in a deficit and am almost at goal. I weigh less…

I’ve found that another workout actually eases DOMS. I get DOMS the day after some workouts. I will sometimes take a rest day, but sometimes do a moderate (not strenuous) workout and that often makes my muscles feel better.

Fourth thing to weigh...nuts.

I weighed my peanut butter several times and 1 Tbsp weighs exactly what the label says. So I use Tbsps for peanut better (scraped across the top with a knife so it is not a rounded Tbsp). I find it quicker and easier.

When I began losing at the end of Feb., I had a list of 5 clothing items that it was my goal to fit back into. Slowly I began fitting into each one of them, until there was only one left; a wetsuit I used to wear when ocean kayaking. Today I tried it on, and it fit perfectly again! Now my goal is to maintain this victory…

Someone actually said “oh, you were a fatty” or “oh, you were a piggy”? How completely rude and mean. If this was a work situation they should be disciplined. I can’t tell you what I would say to someone who ever said something ao nasty to me. As for the salads, perhaps you should say something like “yes, it’s delicious,…

The flab on my arms has definitely improved since I began eating in a deficit and lifting weights. I’ve only lost about 13 pounds but that plus the lifting has helped. I don’t even lift heavy (dumbbell press 20 pounds, bench press about 58 pounds). I still do have flab, though.

I’ve been slacking a bit. But I’m still losing. Contemplating losing 3 more “insurance” pounds when I’m finally at goal. The way I’m eating isn’t difficult and is very healthy, so I don’t mind it. Plus I’m looking pretty good now, so I’m not in a huge rush to lose the last few.

I also chose a deficit that I could do long term (.5 pounds a week) and I am good about logging everything I eat. I do estimate if I’m eating at a potluck or somewhere similar. I am good about weighing calorie dense foods (avocado, nuts, peanut butter). If I go off the rails I log it and then go back to eating better the…

Don’t understand why this answer got 3 woos. Of all the answers, I think it is the first thing that should be considered.

“Begging” others to give it a try sounds like proselytizing. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10744105/why-you-should-never-pick-a-weight-loss-method-because-it-helped-someone-else-lose-weight#latest

I don’t see any attacking or insulting taking place. I believe the OP said what she did respectfully. She also did not address it towards any one person, but put it out there in general.

Please don’t tell me what is right for me. I’m glad it is working for you and your wife, but there are many other ways of losing that also work.

When I have a large salad it can equal almost 90 calories with JUST the veggies (baby spinach, mushrooms, carrots, bell pepper, broccoli, grape tomatoes). So yes, I usually count my veggies unless I’m just having 1 stalk of celery or something.

If you weigh weekly and are “up” or stagnant on weigh-in day because of water retention or other fluctuations, it can be super discouraging. You think you haven’t lost anything when maybe you have, it is just being masked that day by water weight. So I like to weigh daily.

This is the first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread...

I just bought some at Costco (capris) which are awesome and completely non see-through. $15 online.

I like PEScience frosted chocolate cupcake flavor. Tastes exactly like a chocolate milkshake even just mixed with water. Some people find it too sweet. I sometimes mix it half and half with Gold Standard to reduce the sweetness (but I dislike Gold Standard on its own, it tastes very bleh with no chocolate flavor to me).

I tried it for several months a few years ago. I almost puked every time I had to choke it down and it did absolutely nothing in terms of weight loss.

I’ve only been in a deficit for 3 months and I’m 4 pounds from goal (only needed to drop 15 pounds). So I’m guessing I don’t need to worry about refeeds. I’ve seen the link PAV888 posted and it’s way too much info to slog through, including a very long video. I just wanted a short answer.
