  • Potato salad. Actually, cold new potatoes if they're a lovely variety like Charlotte or Jersey Royals can be tres delicious. Of course varieties you can get will be different but just a good potato with flavour, usually a heritage type. I really enjoy marinated artichoke hearts from the deli section too. I'm basically just…
  • I will. Oat cookies. If you're not making cookies with butter you're doing it wrong.
  • I do like an oat cookie, I'll give you that. Raisin and oat especially. I like oats in my crumble, uh, crumb. And porridge. I'm Scottishing hard over here. I even like haggis and that has oats in it too!
  • So enlighten us, how does one implement all those factors if not by, as is advised here, to start with a number and adjust via results? This is a classic case of majoring in the minors. Results are what matter. CICO works for everyone, whether you understand the minutiae or not.
  • You take that back! Traditional shortbread is perfect and unbeatable! And Scottish butter is obviously the best there is. Obviously. Also, as the resident Scot, my shortbread is the best.* *I could be lying, I don't remember when I last made shortbread, it was good though.
  • Former gymnast and dancer here, checking in. Not "bulky", can get lean because being muscular is what makes women look awesome and lean and really frigging happy that I can be heavier than other women at the same size because I get to eat more and have so many lower risk factors low muscle and bone mass can bring the older…
  • I eat rare meat all the time. No worms! 99.9% of the time in countries with high farming and butchery standards raw beef is totally fine. And raw fish. Animal transfer I would think the more likely cause. *kitten* happens sometimes (pardon the pun), I think the alarming thing here is how long diagnosis took and treatment…
  • If I recall you had scale fluctuations explained to you but you refused to accept this would happen. Yes, you did. This is one of those threads. If you lose on 1900 you aren't going to then gain on 2100, it's not logical.…
  • Oh, on the meringues, I should add that they aren't very calorific at all. They're one of my go tos for something lower calorie but still delicious. I've done Eton mess with Greek yoghurt instead of cream, delicious and macro friendly!
  • My lot are grain free exclusively wet (though we did get a treat box from our online supplies place and that has some dry as a treat) but they do enjoy raw. I just don't have the freezer space with me also buying my meat in bulk and freezing. Nowhere for a second freezer to go so for now they get the best wet I can afford.…
  • Half an egg white? But a pav is a giant meringue. I make meringues and half an egg white won't even get you a "p".
  • Just to bring cats back into the equation. They're keto AF and my Chilli in particular sports some extra padding. Betty less so. And Horatio is obvs still growing and lanky as hell.
  • I am ALL about the high waist. Not in a 90s mom jeans way though. Hence my not being in the least bit sad to have nothing of my youthful fashion endeavors in my possession.
  • We call them flipflops too but can interchange with jandal 'cos I lived there innit. It's the stuff all up in my toes I can't do. I have tried. Because cheap. But no. I love a sandal, I just don't love, or should I say my cripplingly sore between toes don't love a flipflop.
  • I strongly suspect they're fibbing. Those are also not patterns you'd see, they're very much modern shapes, at a push maybe 90s. And even then, sizing was still smaller than in the 90s. I have no doubt if I still had my size 10 jeans from back then (thank the heavens I don't) I wouldn't be getting a calf let alone a whole…
  • Vintage sizing would be a lot smaller than modern. I collect (and use) vintage patterns. UK to vintage is two sizes difference (and so alarmingly 4 sizes with US). If you're anything above a 28" waist you're probably going to be grading patterns that are vintage. Also, I concur on the jandals, anything with a toe post,…
  • What are putting as your goal loss per week and what are your current stats? Also worth noting the MFP goal is BEFORE any purposeful activity/exercise. You eat at least some of any additional calories burned.
  • Do you know, I didn't have pavlova. Actually, it would be more accurate to say I don't remember having pavlova because my memory is fooked so I might have done and not know.
  • Ah you're right, there's a dark version too. Though I'm not terribly convinced it's going to be health food quality dark.........
  • Garmin has always, or at least for the nearly 3 years I've been using their products, had heart rate as one of the entries. I am pleased to note I guesstimated mine in a sensible fashion!
  • Except Terry's is milk and your dark. Both good in their own ways.
  • Never fear, I am eating enough sugar to cover us both currently. Had chocolate orange for breakfast. Because Christmas. And anti-oxidants........
  • Oh god the vegan article. Talk about irresponsible journalism but then the Fail are hardly known for their ethical or journalistic standards.
  • There's yet another BS article in the Fail about OHEMGEEEZ keto is fat burning that's why the Karcrapians do it!!
  • I know one is Nightmare Before Christmas but haven't the faintest on Dr Who, never watched it!
  • So in light of recent mental health tanking and associated extreme fatigue (12 hour sleeps anyone?) I am starting diet break a week early. As with every year 1st January I get back to it but for now, FOOD, ALL OF IT (carefully logged all but one or two days). Maybe the black dog and fatigue will let me get my workout mojo…
  • Seroquel was the first "proper" bipolar med I took and those initial cravings are very real but they do reduce. I didn't care at the time but if I was starting it now I'd have a totally different strategy (one involving a lot of lean protein). But you're a guy right? So 2600 should at a minimum be maintenance. So if you'd…
  • This monster complains about a kitten. Because mine is devil incarnate. Good job he's cute and affectionate.
  • Oh and I am officially on diet break. With the nightmares indicating my mental health is on a downward trajectory I don't need to be stressing my body further by fighting with my brain to maintain a deficit too and of course the stress inherent with a deficit. So I am diet breaking. Shall recommence deficit January 1st.…
  • I too thought I was a volume eater. Turns out I'm a grazer. Or at least would be a grazer if I didn't eat proper meals. But an average meal keeps me going perfectly sufficiently negating the need to graze. Plus. I just like how food tastes.
