Wonky brain messing with me currently. Scuppering all good intentions of working out. Lower level than when I'm at my worst nightmares are making an appearance thus ruining my sleep and compounding SAD lethargy. So that's delightful. Still managing a deficit though. Next weekend I start diet break. Yay festive food.

What she said. There are many legitimate reasons that present barriers for people. And often those reasons are justified by what we may consider excuses but in reality the person saying them knows or will come to know that they can overcome them. I've had reasons that I've presented as excuses. I needed time to process and…

Our cats have the same scratcher. Which mine ignore. Aside from that, are you lifting on a tiled floor!? Isn't that asking to cost yourself money when you crack one or 20?

Hey, the UK is massively into sports and we too are failing with the obesity thing. I actually think, like with income inequality, there's little middle ground. Either you're like us who really enjoy health and fitness or you're at the other end merrily eating your way through life (and I say that without judgement). Food…

I'm having flashbacks to my flat in summer. Mind you, our summer was largely crap this year so I didn't have to put up with it too much. Other years it has been hellish. I love the heat but cannot cope well if it's indoors with me! NZ does have an alarmingly large per head gifted athlete ratio so it sort of makes sense.

If you defend the OPs right to curiosity, which she displayed by posting here asking for advice and thoughts on the "school" she was/is attending, then why is it wrong for people to respond to that curiosity? We can't always be told what we want to hear or believe.

Sooooo.......leaky gut believer comes in telling us we're all sheeple to big pharma, posts some links and a Mercola video with a follow up defending those sources as easy to understand for us simpletons. Is asked for proper references. Attempts to provide them but the actually surprisingly (to him if he'd admit such a…

Yeah, that's why you have vodka handy........

Never happens to me but something interesting has been going on since change in mental meds a year ago. I used to catch every single bug going and suffer royally. When I was my most mentally unwell colds turned to chest infections because I'm (low level) asthmatic. But this last year I've barely caught a thing. So I guess…

Haven't read any of the thread have you?

Oh good. Aspartame. Can I call bingo now?

So my cold has really amounted to nothing in the end, most peculiar because I felt like total crud yesterday. Today, no sneezing, no runny nose, no headache, no sore inside face. Just really tired. And some of the tired might be from sleeping awkwardly because I have exchanged the cold for some sort of shoulder thing. Go…

And as someone who lives in a country with nationalised healthcare which, for now at least, is part of the wider EU which also has nationalised healthcare, this notion that all healthcare and big pharma care about is the bottom line is absolute bullpoop. Do you know how much innovation and technological advancement comes…

You could just post the actual studies instead of articles. Many people here are well versed in the interpretation of studies and we have a lot of scientists and research scientists too. No need to make it "easy to read", we're not stupid.

Belief in CICO (which isn't really a belief, it's just a mathematical equation) is not the same as not accepting there are things that influence CO, such as medical conditions. That is absolutely, 100% accepted by the mean people you're lambasting. You know what's not helpful? Believing maintaining a healthy weight is a…

I'm confused too. Why is increased fat burning of benefit though? It has been demonstrated it has no benefit to elite endurance athletes and can in fact be detrimental to other athletes. So I am completely lost as to what point you are making. Of course keto utilises fat for fuel in a larger proportion because there is…

Haha, no it's fine. I realised that if you weren't caught up/without context it could very easily be misinterpreted.

Oh I meant viral cold. But it is cold cold as well. Outside. My flat is toasty. 30 is about good for me outdoors, you can keep 38.

The frequency with which this is done in the US is both hilarious and alarming. Like literally anyone who has a not-American or stereotypically "British" (which isn't a thing, our accents change every 5 miles, every 2 miles in scotland) accent is subtitled. Wait, aren't you in Aussie?! Well now I'm even more baffled. Cold…

I'm sick. Likely explains why I've been dragging my *kitten* for a few days, or a few more than a few........That said, my Ikea trip yesterday along with building said Ikea purchases etc burned quite a few calories! But yeah, today, getting sicker by the minute. My face hurts (I have a cold) and now my body is starting to…

I'm in the UK, so it's a bit different. Elective surgery is hard enough, to have it done when you're still baby making age? I'd be waiting a while. My GP would probably be really open to referring me for assessment etc as she's bloody brilliant but it's not something I'm going to bother with for now. Maybe in the future.

I don't even know how we came to be having a discussion about elite endurance athletes in relation to an OP asking if calories behave the same way in any way of eating. And the answer to that is yes. Everything else noise and preference.

It can just be a novelty thing but we get the brand of bras you buy here as well so......
-
If you thought it was fine you probably wouldn't be asking the question. And so there's your answer.

I'm 35 (for a few more weeks!) and after 65lbs with some to go they are still looking pretty alright. In fact I think they go through phases where I lose, they look a bit crapper, couple weeks later they look pretty alright again. But this applies to my body generally while losing, fits and starts, worse then better. So…

And here in the UK, we have great bras in all sizes, including the very petite who also get shafted by bra manufacturers.

I shall partake of a couple of hot buttered rums on my free days because delicious. I might get a wee small bottle or two of something fizzy but yeah, I won't be doing a lot of drinking. I'm driving to and from Christmas day so no drinking for me! Until I get home but it will likely be too late by then.
-
Also, when the volume of food suddenly increases for one day the damage won't be nearly so bad as if it was over several days because you just can't process all of the excess. Or at least I think that's how it works. My having two free days is because I'm actually not at home alone stuffing myself into a coma this year. I…

I'm going with 22nd to new year's eve. Maintenance mostly with two or three "free" days. But I am hanging for it. Probably because I do it every year I get all restless waiting for it. Same when I go on holiday (I don't log at all on holiday).

It would be a page not a profile. If FB catches those profiles they get nuked (against T&Cs, people used to do it for businesses, a friend lost about 2000 contacts getting it nuked a couple years ago).
