  • Body fat is far more important than the number on the scale. If you are lean BMI becomes irrelevant. If you got back to 117 that would have a far more negative effect on your health than being a lean but adequate level of body fat at 148lbs. There is such a thing as being too lean, particularly for women.
  • Any skincare products with glycolic acid/AHAs will help control it. There's a bunch now so will be easy to get your hands on it but Proactiv is one of them. Have you changed your diet per advice received here recently? If so, your hormones could be re-regulating which can do funky things but it will be short term.
  • I take short breaks for vacations, celebrations etc but have been logging for nearly 3 years. No biggie to me and better than the alternative of regaining. I still eat out/take away often, my eyeballing is good enough alongside my otherwise accurate logging for it to be no issue. Different strokes but to me it's…
  • I just want to reiterate. There is no medical condition that would cause you to gain weight eating a net of sub 1200 calories for going on three years, adaptive thermogenesis is not that marked. The human body is efficient at self preservation but not that good. Anorexics continue to lose weight netting similar and lower…
  • As for the attractive thing, it is a royal pain in the *kitten*. I don't get out much and a large part of it is unwanted attention. I also have a weird armour thing where I deliberately make myself look at......able as then I am prepared for it, almost inviting it. Seems to to help but that's a coping strategy I have had…
  • The thing that got me to finally get a grip of my weight was actually partly due to being diagnosed with bipolar (type 2). I can't, for the most part, control what my wonky brain does but I sure as hell can control my physical health. So it gives me something within my control to focus on and it actually helps with the…
  • There's an error here somewhere because if you had been eating 1200 calories for close to two years and running without ever really eating any of those calories back, even with thyroid troubles, to be blunt, you'd be dead. Can you open your diary and see if we can help troubleshoot?
  • Are these the correct screenshots? I see very little fat and only 400 calories? That's not your average day is it?
  • Name the chemicals and their effects. Aspartame doesn't count, it's been studied to death and shows no adverse effects, long or short term. As for me. I don't drink water, or at least rarely do. I use what we call in the UK squash, basically a sugar free water flavourer. And coffee. And then the water in my food. Pee is a…
  • You'd be surprised, never been to Paris because a bit more saving gets me to Florida! You should be okay in most things, they build off their US model really so are very inclusive and it being a newer park even the "classics" like Space Mountain will be better than the originals in terms of fitting more sizes.
  • Disney World is made to accommodate almost everyone, you should be able to fit on most rides. I believe Seven Dwarves Mine Train can be difficult due to the way the lap bar sits against the knees and you might have trouble with Astro Orbiter. Potentially Space Mountain too but I would say that's more about being able to…
  • This isn't the place for UD2.0 or PSMF/RFL. Lyle has a forum where you can diarise your progress and that's probably a better location for this. For those reading, it's a very specific cutting/training protocol and not something generally appropriate for MFP.
  • 14 weeks? I've been at this for 3 years. I just get on with it as best as I can whilst living life and learning how to fit it all in so that I can make it work forever. Which is why in that 3 years I've had no major regains and will, eventually, get to a sort of goal (because it's an ongoing thing with body composition for…
  • Yeah. Don't be creepy and you should be good. If people don't like it they just won't respond.
  • I'm on the same med as Lyle, I'm so special.
  • Not to mention she actively advocates for low protein diets saying (wrongly) that protein needs are overstated. It would seem OP has bought into that and it's hugely damaging, especially to an athlete.
  • You can use them for pilates but yeah, not for walking. Weighted vest or backpack is the way to go.
  • I have nothing to add other than white text on a black screen really messes with my eyeballs.
  • It just occurred to me, there is one antidepressant that is an absolute horror for appetite increase, to the point they prescribe it to cats and dogs to stimulate appetite. Mirtazapine. Made me a ravenous sugary treat eating machine. BUT, I also didn't care about it, until I gained 14lbs in a month. Was immediately taken…
  • Ecological impact of animal farming isn't about the space the animals take as much as the amount of land needed to grow the grain to feed them.
  • I'm glad this thread has turned out the way it has. Myself, I got about 10 minutes in and then in the interests of not having to buy a new TV I can't afford, I turned it off.
  • There are some psychoactive medications that can have an effect on metabolism insomuch as they can make a few people IR but that number is small and an antidepressant is not one of those medications. I have been on said medication and it did not make me IR nor did it prevent me losing weight. I lost the same on it as off…
  • At 30% body fat it is really too high for recomp to be a practical place to move to, especially as you are at the top end of a healthy BMI so have room to lose down more. I definitely concur that reducing your deficit and of course strength training at a more challenging level are what you should be doing and especially…
  • To further add, what you eat won't dictate where the weight goes either.
  • I can has invitation yes?
  • Especially true at the moment given the strains that are causing an epidemic and a lot of deaths. That is of course if it's the flu and not just a cold, flu regardless of strain, takes a good week to get over at best.
  • You know, I've thought further on this. From the perspective of what I would define as a foodie (someone who enjoys great quality produce cooked/served/combined to perfection or as near as dammit) it's nearly always not horrifically calorific. There are exceptions of course, Indian food being one, curries are generally oil…
  • Um. Nothing wrong with bread? No need to feel guilty about it. I love granary and for 134 calories it's a reasonably sturdy slice so toast it, couple slices bacon, poached egg, delicious.
  • Lost me at lean bulk. Got me back at 'ghetti. On the menu here this week too! Beef/pork mix. I do enjoy the assumption that fat people gorge on McDs all the livelong day. Spoiler, I know a lot of fat people who don't/didn't, me being one. Second spoiler, McDs has plenty of nutrition, it just happens to be pretty calorie…
