Yes. It’s normal. The first week you lose a lot of water. Now you’re losing fat. It will never be as fast as the first week again and that’s ok. Losing too fast isn’t healthy. I would focus on more protein and a little less fat.

The headaches and brain fog are symptoms of low sodium. Are you supplementing sodium?

Fish are fine assuming they aren’t coated in sugar. Starbucks has a sugar free cinnamon dolce and a vanilla syrup. Other than that, everything has sugar. Cake really isn’t going to work on keto. Your carbs aren’t there to be an indulgence. They are for nutrition. This is like trying to have one shot a day as an alcoholic…

You don’t really have to do it super low calorie but contrary to the opinion expressed above, it’s perfectly ok if you do it the way it’s meant to be done. Very short term. Like a couple days a week. It’s not a way of eating or a lifestyle. It’s a tool to create more fat loss in a short time. When I do it periodically,…

Try a protein sparing modified fast maybe

It will most likely settle down. I noticed a change but in my case I noticed I basically don’t smell at all unless I really sweat. It’s more than likely PH changes and microbes and possibly candida die off if it’s stinky. Which will eventually stop on it’s own. Try some magnesium spray

Is what you’re doing working? Do you feel good? Then I oils keep doing it. It may need some tweeking later but keep it up if you’re working toward your goals with it.

That ketone level is not dangerous. You’re not at risk of DKA unless your body doesn’t make insulin. Metabolic acidosis is quite often misdiagnosed as DKA in people on keto diet. It’s even happened to my own daughter who is also Type 1 diabetic. She was not in DKA. She had metabolic acidosis from dehydration. Which would…

It really sounds like you’re working too hard and eating too little. You don’t really need to eat super fatty foods especially if you have fat to lose. Focus on your protein to make sure you get enough. All that exercise and undereating is going cost you muscle and that’s not a path to health. Just eat the meats and non…

Just be careful not to cut back on meat so much that you aren’t getting enough protein. I know people that eat a veggie heavy keto diet without issues though. The upper carb limit to maintain Ketosis seems to vary quite a bit from person to person and in reality you don’t have to maintain Ketosis to be fat adapted and…

I haven’t ever heard anyone’s personal story regarding concussions but we do know that saturated fat is very good for the brain. Maybe look around Georgia Ede’s website for info on brain health. She would promote a diet as close to carnivore as he would be willing to go I believe. She has many great interviews in various…

I honestly think it’s a bunch of hype.

You don’t really have to eat a ton of fat. Just eat what you like and keep the carbs low. I ate fish and shrimp tonight. Was basically low fat. It’s just what I wanted. No need to force feed yourself food you don’t want.

I know first thing in the morning is common advice to likely get a positive test but in my experience I always got the darkest result late afternoon. Like before dinner or even before bed.

Also check out FAT: A Documentary. It’s not a free one but it can be rented on many services.

Yep. You’re describing low sodium which is so common for keto that people call it Keto Flu. It’s just low sodium. You need more than you think. Read that link given above and you’ll understand why.

Another good one that just came out recently is FAT: A Documentary

Butter. Coconut oil. Olive oil. Avocado oil. Without adding carbs, you’re looking at straight fats added to your food. Why do you need to increase fat?
-
The problem is... once you fat adapt. Your hunger returns. The you have to work at it again. Keto or low carb isn’t a free for all.

My Redmond Real salt sticks together so much that I have to smack the shaker before every use. A trace amount of dextrose has a purpose.

Eat. More. Protein. Or even more all together. Too little protein or even total intake will cause hair loss.

I agree. This is so small it’s completely insignificant.

I personally wouldn’t. I think they tend to add ingredients that aren’t actually low carb and as well as using stuff I just wouldn’t want to eat. It all really depends on if clean eating is important to you or not. For me, it would be a hard no.
-
Possibly low sodium. Also, could be too little protein but I don’t know how much you’re getting. Low sodium is super common though.

Very good advice! I used one of those too. Really helped me when weight fluctuated. Which it did a lot and still does every day. I used Happy Scale.
-
Well done! You need some new inspiration shorts!

You can eat all the protein you want. If you aren’t keto to treat a medical condition you don’t need to worry about Ketosis at all. Eating higher protein may or may not affect Ketosis for you but it doesn’t matter unless you require a certain level of ketones for a medical reason anyway. Even if higher protein interferes…

The fat that you burn from your body counts. You eat 88g but the rest comes from your butt. However, even 88g fat a day is high fat. Most people don’t leave any room for fat to come from storage. Only once you lose your excess fat do you then EAT the very high fat to maintain the weight. And that’s definitely NOT high…

I make cinnamon chaffles for my daughter. 2 eggs, 1 cup mozzarella, 2 Oz cream cheese (though I add this to add calories because she needs to gain weight) 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 Tbs swerve. She also eats them with cinnamon/swerve butter. But this is a weight gain protocol for her. Gotta go easy on the cream cheese and butter…
