  • In addition to pillow, chapstick, and ear plugs, I was so glad I had a sleep mask. The IV pumps are lighted and I cannot sleep with ANY light on...also you don't get startled from a sound sleep when the night nurse flips on the overhead lights.
  • Being that my surgery was 4/1/15, I badly craved an Easter egg. When I finally smashed one up, it promptly made me sick and I quickly lost that craving. I did eat Gerber ' s Stage 2 meats, but not straight out of the jar! I added salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Oh, and I heated it in the microwave in a small…
  • Thanks ya'll!

  • My shoes are too big! Also, was recently in the hospital and I fit into a normal sized hospital gown - didn't need two worn front and backwards to cover me up. That was a big deal to me!
  • I must increase protein, water, and start exercising!
  • I warmed skim milk in the microwave and added Chicken Soup flavor Unjury to it. Not just like a cream soup, bit I liked it.
  • I had RNY 4/1/15. I have lost 48 lbs. I had some complications with ulcer and stricture, but this is a dramatic change for the better and my problems seem to be behind me. I will be healthier again. This is not an easy or quick fix, but I am so glad that I have chosen this new life. HT 5'5" Heaviest wt 264 Preop wt 254…
  • I also used McCormick liquid flavorings and got very creative. I use skim milk. Think banana, pineapple, coconut and rum flavorings (just a small splash when using this many). I loved my Proteincolada. Another I liked was skim milk, Vanilla Unjury, and a teaspoon of Zatarain's Root Beer Extract with a few ice cubes...not a…
  • You have the right idea to correct your mistake. We work too hard to slack up in our resolve. Everyone that I have heard that is successful, says they had to go back to the basics. I hope not to lose my resolve. I wish the same for you.
  • Wow! You are doing a great job. I also love your little photo bomber...too precious.
  • You look great! I had RNY 4/1/15 and haven't lost nearly what you have, but I am thrilled with my 44 lb loss so far. Have been dealing with some complications so maybe I'll catch up soon...lol
  • I used to constantly fixate on food. Since my RNY April 1st, I would never eat again if I ate when I was hungry. I don't get hungry! I no longer have cravings at all! I don't know if this is part of the "honeymoon" period or not, but I am down 41 lbs and I hope this never ends!
  • Bariatric Advantage, online, has an almost all-in-one chewable multivitamin. All I had to add was Calcium Citrate and they have creamy flavored chews for them....comparable prices to others I have tried.
  • Rolls are gone! Even your back is smooth. Lookin' great! I had RNY April 1st, but feel free to add me if you'd like.
  • Cmchandler74, what do you do to Isopure so you can drink it? I am 8 wks out and have been dealing with ulcer and stricture, so I'm not even coming close to minimums required. Tolerating liquids, so I'm drinking and not even trying solids yet. My Goals: 1. Be grateful for weekly endoscopy with dilation and patiently wait…
  • Hi Val, friend me if you'd like. I am just ahead of you. My RNY was April 1st. I've lost 41 pounds. Dealing with a couple of complications, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat and wish I'd have had surgery years ago.
  • I am also wanting to start walking. I used to walk listening to contemporary Christian music and it was great. I just clicked to join.
  • Fantastic! You have accomplished a wonderful thing. I hope to have done what you have in a year.
  • I'm glad you said that was you. I would have thought that was maybe a relative or son, but not you. You look wonderful. Congrats on your determination to succeed.
  • You have done an amazing job-wow! Thanks for sharing. Your smile says it all.
  • It was very strongly stressed and double checked by my NUT: 1. chewable multivitamin 2/day, 2. Iron at least 18 mg, 3. B Complex with at least 15 mg Vitamin B12 Thiamin, 4. Calcium Citrate with Vit D 500 mg 3/day, 5. B12 (under your tongue) 500 mcg daily. Take Calcium and Iron at least 2 hrs apart.

  • I'm at 6 wks. Thanks for the inspiration. ..can't wait to post my pics further down the road. You are doing fantastic! Keep up the good work.
  • Info from my NUT when I progressed to liquid/pureed meal was: For fluids: 1/4 cup=2 oz=4 Tablespoons
  • I am informing and teaching others about what weight loss surgery is and what it isn't. Many still think it is the "easy" way out and it is anything but that. I explain that it is a totally new way to live and consider food. I had RNY on April 1st and have lost 34 lbs from my heaviest weight, so my loss is just starting to…
  • 1st time was Saturday after grandaughter s graduation. Will be post op 6 wks on Wednesday. I ordered grilled catfish and requested it to not be prepared with butter. I ate about 2 oz and it was great. Then I messed up. I took 1 small bite of crab meat au gratin (hubby's order) and let's just say I made it to the bathroom,…
  • I had to do 6 monthly dietitian visits before I got insurance approval. It is why I didn't have surgery years ago and now I wish I would have stuck with it then.....all that wasted time.
  • My RNY was 4/1/15 and I have also lost 34 lbs from my heaviest in Nov,2014...24 lbs since surgery date. I've had a little problem in that I have an ulcer, causing PAIN and some vomiting. I've gone back to more protein drinks until I heal. Am I glad I had surgery? YES!!
  • Had RNY April 1, 2015 Heaviest wt: 264 in Nov Surgery wt: 251 Current wt: 230!!! I haven't changed sizes yet, but clothes are definitely getting looser. Watch out Goodwill, I will be shopping soon...lol :p
