I quite enjoy Shiritaki Noodles and Rice, but they do tend to bloat me pretty badly! Ive been craving Spaghetti Carbonara with Chicken, Pancetta, Cream & Parmesan (probably not authentic Italian but boyyyyyy is it good!), so i'm going to give it a whirl with the Bare Noodles brand 'Spaghetti' style Shirataki noodles. I'll…

You can do it!!! You've got this, girl! I totally understand what it's like to just try adding a few carbs in here and there and then before you know it you're completely off the wagon. For me personally, i have a HUGE addiction to carbs. Once i start eating grains or starch all i can think about is more, more, more. And…

Helllooooo there, Baconslave. OMG, i remember you too and so glad youre still here too. Regards the colour of the Ketostix i really appreciate you mentioning that any level of Ketosis is fine as hydration affects the reading. I wasnt aware of this and i was quite shocked (happily so) by how dark pink it was earlier. Guess…

Well, not quite as fast as you Sunny, but i managed to get into Ketosis within 36 hrs (about lunchtime today). Woohoo! What a great feeling - i was all set for problems! I really struggled when i first went Keto a few years ago, but i think many of the symptoms i was experiencing were caused by my Fibromyalgia, which i was…

Bless you, Sunny! I'm glad to be back too. It feels like coming home! :) xxx

I'm the same. I adore eggs and it's a rare day that i eat less than 2. Most days i eat 3-4, but it can go up to 6 or 7 if i'm in an eggy mood (or seriously rushed for time - hard boiled eggs are so easy to grab-and-go).

Ive been struggling with night eating for several years now. It is SO frustrating to have done a great job all day only to wake up and realise that you've eaten enough calories overnight to destroy your deficit for DAYS. I wish there was something i could do to get it in check. I take a sleeping pill at night/.

Thanks, guys x

Sounds delish, and perfect for this time of year. Thank you xx

Thanks x

Mmm, this sounds nice. Thank you x

We dont get these in the UK, i dont think x

That's what i made last night - well, similar: 1 packet of sugar-free jello, made with 1/2 water, 75g full fat cream cheese and the rest of the liquid topped up with unsweetened almond milk. It was nice, a bit like blancmange, but it didnt exactly hit the spot as the fake strawberry flavour of the jello overpowered the…

Do you stay in Ketosis when eating them. I have been eating these 1-2x a day for the past week, but im not sure theyre doing me any favours, keto-wise.

Oh wow. How did I miss Fathead Pizza all this time? It looks lush! I've been low-carb for well over a year but somehow never checked out this recipe. Thanks. It's probably a bit more involved than I'd like for a weeknight dinner though, I'm embarrassed to say. (I suffer with chronic pain & fatigue so what with that and…

*waves* :) Feel free to add me too, if you'd like. I'm always open to new low-carb pals. X

The low-carb microwave mug cakes I've made go tough & dry the cooler they get. I find it's a race to eat them before they turn cardboardy, particularly the ones containing protein powder. Damn good cure for cake cravings though (which I don't get so often nowadays, thank goodness), particularly when you work out the…

They're super light & airy, sort of melt-in-the-mouthy. I don't care for the texture at all, but lots of low-carbers seem to like them. Thanks Teruma. X

If you can't do your body a favour & ditch the alcohol then the lower carb/calorie options are dry champagne for wines and, lower still, vodka/lime/soda. I'll have a Pepsi Zero instead, thanks! ;)
-
LOL, no wine is carb-free! If only! And like Sunny_Bunny said, the sweeter the wine, the more sugar it contains, hence even higher carbs. Regardless of the IIFYM philosophy, even if you can shoe-horn alcoholic beverages into your calorie/carb allowance (in place of nutritional food) remember that the body processes…

The spoon theory is a great illustration of how CFS/Fibro-fatigue etc affects our lives, agreed. X

Ah, Baconslave, thanks so much for appreciating the info. Took me forever to write, what with the Rheumatism & Reynaulds syndrome in my stupid hands & fingers and the brain-fog, but I want to offer any help I can to anyone suffering with my symptoms. I know how debilitating it all can be. At least with my current treatment…

Ooh! Could we have your recipe for peanut butter n egg microwave cake, and the whey protein n almond flour pancakes? Pleeeeeeeease!?

P.s. Check out Adrenal Fatigue advice/supplements too. I was under a lot of stress for years prior to contracting CFS/FMS/ME. I didn't realise how damaging it could be to the body. I took bovine Adrenal Gland supplements for a couple of months to help my adrenals repair to balance Cortisol levels. Many of the symptoms of…

Just thought, I may as well tell you my daytime meds/supps too! - 'Energy Revitalization System' powder by Enzymatic Therapy (key supplement in Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum's Fatigued To Fantastic protocol) - 1 scoop as soon as I wake. - D-Ribose (pure, good quality- another key player) - 5g 2-3x a day. - Co Q10, L-Carnitine, NAC,…

Baconslave, your sleep issues sound exactly the same as mine - I'm always tired so falling asleep isn't a problem but my body will not allow me to go into deep sleep (without heavy sleeping pills, which I had to fight my doctors for months to get - I was so ill with sleep deprivation before they would prescribe me anything…

Haha! Ok, ok, you can haz your posh choccies! I might be just hatin' on chocolates b/c I'm jealous that I can't have any! Still though, in my mind, a special present is something that shows you notice her 'likes' n quirks, like a few posters above said. I love those presents, however small or 'silly', that makes me think…
-
That's a great one! A massage, manicure, pedicure or facial gift voucher would be a gift you would never forget. So thoughtful. X
-
Absolutely not! If she was an alcoholic would you buy her a bottle of booze?! Personally I think chocolates as a gift are a cop-out - not much thought goes into grabbing a load of sugar-laden cr@p off the shelf. I'd go for flowers if you really can't think of anything 'special' but something a bit more thoughtful and…

Ive not heard of the Wild Diet before - Interesting. Sounds similar to how I roll on a not-very-hungry non-fasting day. My health issues can affect my appetite, and digesting solid food can be challenging at times, so I'll go for a liquid breakfast & lunch if I feel my body needs more energy/nutrients earlier in the day.…
