I am 42, mother of one and considering unschooling/homeschooling my 3yo. I want to lose while she still has a nap time! I am also having symptoms of perimenopause. Add me if you'd like.

I tried DIM briefly last year and I'm about to try again. I will post my thoughts on it once it has been a month or so.

I'm missing a period, which is not uncommon at 42 years old, but the weight fluctuations are throwing off my feedback loop. I was 176 on Monday and now I'm 180. This has bounce has been happening for over a week.

I only have one almost three year old and I'm finding it challenging. I'm also at that time of life when the metabolism slows and the muscles melt so I have no choice but to exercise and watch what I eat. It can be overwhelming.

First goal is to make it to 170. Originally I wanted to make it there by my late June birthday/anniversary, but it looks like I'll be at a wee bit over. My next goal is to reach the weight I was when I found out I was pregnant (164), ideally by my daughter's third birthday in early fall. Third goal is a few pounds less and…

Thanks for posting. I surprised myself by slipping up this week and realized how important it is to understand my patterns of overeating. Is it when I'm stressed? Bored? Too little protein? I'm trying to see it as an opportunity to learn rather than a setback.

I am going through something similar. It all started when cheerios and chips were brought into the house. Eating cheerios for breakfast gives me cravings for the rest of the day. The chips were there to binge on, sending my sodium and weight through the roof, making me feel like f-it. Then yesterday I bought chocolate…

A family history of diabetes and becoming a Mom at an older age. I want to be around as long as possible for my daughter. I kept rationalizing the weight gain as pregnancy related, but then it went up more in her second year. My goal is to be back down to my pre-pregnancy weight by her third birthday and then lose another…

I'll be 42 in June. I have a little one that will be three in September. I hope to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by then and then lose another ten beyond that. I find losing much harder at this age, but I think it is because I've lost a lot of muscle and have much less time.

I use one and have seen results. I do HIIT and try to keep the tension high, but my joints are dodgy and can only do so much tension.

I bought a bag of popcorn thinking it would be a filling, tasty, low-calorie snack. On a stressful day I ate the whole bag, totaling something like 700 calories. Then I proceeded to eat chocolate for a snack and Indian food for dinner without weighing anything.

I was 160-ish when my daughter was conceived. I chose 170 because I don't want to be too ambitious and I think that is a weight appropriate for my new lifestyle. However, my BMI numbers say I should be 159 or below, so I will probably keep going once I reach my initial goal.
