Insulin spikes and crashes from eating sugar all the time can make you hungry all the time. One peanut butter cookie won't do it, but eating lots of sugar can do it. Eating large amounts of sugar is like a drug. And trying to come off of it can cause intense symptoms ( ask anyone who has gone low carb and had "keto flu").…

And that's good that you can do that on a whim. Give yourself a pat on the back or something. Not everyone can. I know myself, a failure to plan is a plan for failure. It sounds like the OP is wanting to preplan her meals as well, so that she doesn't eat nothing but junk the whole week. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Crap food = junk food. If I don't go in with a plan of I'll eat x for breakfast, y for lunch, z for dinner and A for snacks, then I am prone to say "a serving of fries won't hurt, another ice cream is fine, the Olaf cupcake is a treat" and all of a sudden I've gone way over my intended calories. And don't even let me near…

I picked up on it, but I don't know OP to say whether she needs to lose weight or not. I have very unsupportive people in my life. My mom tells me all the time not to lose weight. I think she'd rather I be fat like her than fit and healthy (misery loves company), so OP could be in a similar situation. I don't discuss my…

I don't count calories at disney, but even usually go for a week. Between the heat, the walking, and the attractions, I usually don't have much of an appetite. I typically come home 5-10 lbs lighter, without really paying attention to calories.

In Magic Kingdom, there are some great healthy options. At Columbia Harbor house near the Haunted Mansion, you can get delicious bowl of vegetarian chili. The village market has tons of fresh fruit optio8, including yummy pineapple spears. Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe has half a rotisserie chicken with 2 sides (maybe split…

When I was a vegetarian, I would eat a lot of black beans. My favorite go-to was a bed of brown rice mixed with cilantro, too with black beans and a scoop of salsa. Very filling and yummy. I also ate a lot of vegetarian stir fries, and grilled portabetlla love "steaks". Whole wheat pasta with marinara, salads with…

Be happy to see numbers like that! I think it would be such a huge motivator to see giant losses. I've been at this about 3 weeks and I've lost 2 lbs. two. Enjoy your 16 and keep on it!

When you say spinal injury, do you mean paralysis, or a back injury that makes intense exercise difficul

If you need to get more movement into your day, you could take a walk on your breaks. I have a little walking route that I've mapped out at work. On my 15's I go and do one lap. On my lunch I do 2-3 laps. Even though I'm on my feet all day as a nurse, it helps to get out and take those extra walks. I also take the 8…

I'm a nurse too. The best thing you can do for yourself is pack your food. Not just a lunch, but all your food. You know what times you are hungry. For me, on a 3pm to 3am shift, I know I will want dinner at 6, and a snack around 11. So I pack a healthy, light dinner, some cheese and grapes for snack, and maybe a pear or…

Knowing your triggers and avoiding them also works wonders. If you can't see the pastries at Starbucks without caving, don't go to Starbucks. I personally have trouble stopping myself from eating like 8 oreos. So i don't buy oreos.

When I was on nights I did a big workout as soon as I left work. After my workout I would have a glass of milk and sleep soundly because the exercise gave me the final push to exhaustion. I took lots of healthy food with me to work, since the night cafeteria has awful tasting food. I was a size 2 back then. Sigh.

Avoid fat burners. Your heart will thank you.

That's awesome. I'm an RN and I see so many patients with your health issues, the heart damage, the copd, the blood clots, and they refuse to change. You'll be amazed at how much losing weight and quitting cigs will lower your blood clot risk. Congrats on your progress and keep on going!

Mother's Day. We went to lunch with DH's family. I insisted on on a group photo. I was wearing a white dress that I thought I looked cute in. When I got home and saw the photos in Facebook I wanted to cry. I am wearing a size 4 but I look like a whale. That was my turning point. Took a few weeks to start with a trainer and…

Also, if you aren't getting dizzy or fainting, or having any additional symptoms, the odds of this being anything worrisome are low.

Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor and thisbis not medical advice, just information based on my personal experiences. Talk to your doctor to follow up on your tests. Honestly, a sudden, sharp chest pain that goes goes a way quickly does not sound cardiac in nature at all. Cardiac pain is typically in the center, and feels like a…

Thanks for all the replies! You all have been very helpful!

No, I got the sarcasm. I'm just sticking up for the people like me who really needed a good eating plan. I wasn't sure where to look. Instead of making fun of people with the "what to eat" question, I thought I would post what I used and be a bit helpful. I do know about nutrition and exercise. But having it written out…

Should I get one with a removable food bowl? Or a flat surface one?

That is exactly what I needed to kick start this weight loss journey. I am pretty open and willing to eat what is on on the plan, but coming up with an eating plan all on my own was overwhelming and I failed over and over. I searched online and found a six week eating plan that Women's Health had published. I followed it…

I like to slice an english cucumber thin and put salt and garlic powder on it. Gives a salty crunch like a chip without the calories.

I like to drink the Aldi brand version of the special K shakes, I think they taste better than the name brand and cost half as much!

You might see if your insurance will cover a visit to a nutritionist and an allergist. They would be better able to help with your selectively vomiting stomach and weight concerns. I'm truly interested in how your stomach would vomit up on piece of food and not all of its contents. It almost sounds like you coughed and…
-
that is physically impossible. Your stomach doesn't selectively vomit up one thing in it. If your stomach is purging, anything in it will come out. So if you had strawberries and chicken for lunch and then vomited, both would come out.

I'm not sure how you're expecting to lose weight without eating fruits, vegetables, or lean meat? If you're trying to lose weight and stick to 1200 calories a day, you're going to be eating very small portions at each meal and you will be starving. I foresee an afternoon blood sugar crash and binge. Been there, done that.…

I think Phenteramine is a powerful, scary drug. I don't know why it is still legal. I'm a nurse and have known coworker who were on it. It makes people very emotionally unstable. And when you come off it you will blimp up because you aren't in the habit of eating right.
