  • Been there and done that! I got pregnant shortly after reaching my wedding weight loss goal, then gained 70lbs when I was pregnant. I didn't try hard enough to loose it after my son was born and fast forward 6yrs to was even bigger than I was at full term :( last year I decided it was time to make a change and lost…
  • My diary is open to friends, feel free to add me. Most days are good...some aren't ;) trying to make myself accountable for the few lbs I gained back and I bet knowing someone is reading my diary will help Lol
  • Feel free to add me. I originally lost 70lbs..I've had about 6lbs sneak back up on me over the past few months so I'm trying to loose them and get back on track. I think creating a new friend group would be helpful for the last few pounds.
  • Hi there, I'm going back to school in September doing my Masters while working full time in a high stress job, and the usual family stuff. I've been maintaining my goal weight (lost 70lbs last year), and the idea of adding more stress to my life while decreasing my exercise time scares me. Feel free to add me and we can…
  • Congrats on the first 50, that's amazing! I'm Mel, I work full time, school part time and have a 5yr old. I just hit my goal weight of 170 two weeks ago a total of 60 lost. It's a hard balance to do it all and try to make time to be healthy. I'm all about supporting each other through this. Sending a friend request now.
  • It may seem a little silly, but try the website gonoodle.com - my 4 yr old loves it, it's an exercise site for kids. But I do it with him, it's fun bonding time, and I can get a solid 30 min of cardio in before he gets bored
  • I was super self conscious and my own worst enemy when I started. So I hid on the local high school, track by myself until I felt brave enough to run on the sidewalks. Totally agree with the recommendations for couch to 5k...I went from being winded walking up stairs to running 23 min straight without walking and I'm only…
  • Love it! Completely how I feel.
  • I love this thread! I have 2 to share...I got to buy new underwear at Victoria's Seceret not Walmart because I could, and I have officially dropped from "overweight" to "healthy" on the bmi chart.
  • That's awesome! Must have felt great
  • Today was w3d1 and the first time I made the switch from time based to distance based. I run on the track so having the visual of running 200m or 400m vs 90 sec seemed more appealing to me. However, switching to distance based I needed to do 1.5X the workout to get in 20 min of running. What does everyone else go with time…
  • Walk, it's easy, you don't have to be coordinated, and it's free. I started walking 3-5 days a week for about 30 minutes and I've lost 48lbs since the end of April when I started. I don't have the coordination to go exercise videos so I got easily discouraged, but getting outside with some good music in my ears was a great…
  • I was wondering the same thing. I don't have a hrm, but if I upload a run from a different app to mfp my vivofit is still giving me exercise calories for my "steps" while on a run. Should I be taking off my vivofit when I run and just inputting manually since its lower?
  • I've tried on my own on here without success...getting others to help support along the way makes this SO much easier! I'm sending you a request
  • It sounds like we're the same person! I'm 35, 5'11" and 184. I tried to start running a few months ago and after finally getting up to 2km non stop my left knee gave out and I landed in physio for 2 months:( turns out it was my incredibly weak glutes and core that was causing the pain. I started doing more stretching,…
  • Omg that was my downfall! I put in all of my weight snacking off my sons plate. Couldn't stop thinking "well. I hate to waste it" I should have known better, gained 70 lbs eating puffed rice and chicken nuggets lol
  • Hi Magda, I'm an emotional eater too...stress = chocolate, boredom = salty snacks. I've been working hard on replacing boredom with physical activity like going for a walk leaving less time to sit still and think about snacks. Stress eating's a little harder to combat, so I usually just try to portion control so I dont…
  • Argh! Cut me off! I started slow with walking and increased to running, I do my best to stay with in my calorie goal. My goal is to reach my pre-pregnancy weight of 170lbs. I'll send you a friend request, let's do this together!
  • Hi, I'm a mom to a super active 5yr old boy. Trying to match his activity level was one of my reasons to start this journey. Im 5'11" and started at 230lbs and I'm now 185, with 15 left to go. As of this morning I have lost the equivalent of the weight of my son
  • You can do it! I'm here for you too, add me.
  • Hi Trish, congrats on your wedding! I did exactly the same thing, just took me longer to realize it. I lots 35lbs pre-wedding in 2009, looked super awesome in my pictures, then got pregnant 6 weeks later and I went from my smallest to my biggest in one year. I got content (aka lazy) and managed to put on 70lbs. In February…
  • Argh! MFP keeps deleting what I type...I've been logging in daily for a few months and have consistently been loosing 1-2lbs/month. Lots of hard work and mindfulness about what I'm eating, feel free to add me for some extra motivation!
  • Hey, I'm 191 right now and looking to get to 170...maybe 160 if I'm lucky
  • Hey, I'm 35 and STILL working on loosing my freshman 30 lol. I've been using MFP for the past few months and log in daily. I started my journey at 230 and my goal is 170...I'm just over half way there - weighted in today at 191.5. More than happy to help motivate, I can't seem to figure out how to add ppl from my iPad, but…
  • Hi, I'm from Courtice ON. Would love to find a walking/running buddy around here. Been on MFP for a few months now, started at 230lbs, I've lost 37 so far with a goal weight of 170. I started walking, then transitioned into running, got hurt, now back to walking again...I'm very motivated, but I'd love some company.
  • It IS really hard. I find I go through cycles of love/hate with this journey. Some days are awesome, I feel better I look better...then other days McDonald's wins, I eat like crap, and I'm beating myself up for lacking will power. The important thing to remember is that you are doing this for a reason, whatever it might…

  • I wait until after my little guy goes to bed then go out for a walk. Makes for a longer night, but I try to get in at least 3 run/ walks a week. If your little one is still small enough, go for a stroller walk after dinner...that way you'll decrease the guilt by doing something together.
  • Omg, it's like I wrote your post
  • Not selfish at all...I feel the same way. I tried to stick to myself with my weight loss for the first little while, but you're right, having someone to say congrats when you reach a goal is awesome. Feel free to add me and we can do this together
  • I've been trying to do this alone, realizing that I need the support and motivation from others as well. Feel free to add me and we can support each other.
