  • @Tribbey143 how have you got on with the adjustment? I've just bought one for my OH (he asked for it not a dig) and the adjustmnt seems really low. he only got 170 ish Kcal for a 15k step day even thugh he is set to sedentary. on the withings app it gives him about 500 extra but that's not translating....
  • Yep me too, the photos are ones I've taken, and I've thought about reverse image search. Though if someone is determined they might be able to find our (now sadly deceased) fluffball on instagram. It's mostly privacy for me, anyone who knows me well will recognise the person and cat in the picture, but colleagues and…
  • Yep me too, I was in a chocolate shop this week (picking up easter eggs for my godchildren). And my husband asked if I wanted anything. I had a long think (Yes I wanted everything) but because I couldn't easily pick something I knew I only wanted it was because I was tired and bored and wanted to go home. So I went past…
  • As to the bolded, Just by being here I am a testament to millions of years of evolutionary success. Every one of my antecedents survived to puberty with adequate nutrition to procreate. There are evolutionary selection bonuses for those who overeat and can then last a famine, or have enough nutrition to keep their immune…
  • Me too, I'm a night owl and I've been suffering because I've changed jobs, which requires an earlier start. Radio on, lights on, and my phone alarm, I can just about get out of bed but not quickly. Several of my failed attempts involved me trying to work out in the morning before work. Just get up earlier it's easy part of…
  • Hopefully checking they are set up the same has resolved your problems. Honestly I ignore the fitbit food prediction, just stick with MFP and use Fitbit to look at distance etc. It's worth being as accurate as possible with your activity level. Once your Fitbit has 'got to know you' and gives you consistent kcal burn it's…
  • I did something slightly similar to make sure I was progressing I set the bike to a medium resistance so I had to work but I wasn't struggling, and downloaded a (free) couch to 10k app. So when it says 'walk' I aim to cycle at 15-20 km/h speed. When it's set to 'run' I aim for >30km/h. This way I'm not just peddling…
  • I have had a similar experience to others It's a bit trial and error, you just have to work out what works for you. Eat as MFP suggests for 6 weeks or so eating your fitbit adjustment and see how much you lose in that time, is it more or less than predicted? Use a trendweight app/website to see your losses. MFP is designed…
  • Because I'm still big I'm losing at 2000k net (lightly active), I aim for: 1850kcal net Mon-Thur (650 deficit) 2200kcal net Fri-Sun (300 deficit) I don't at the weekend I still track and monitor just my allowance is greater. Intuitive eating is still beyond me at the moment so I can't just not track at weekends. In reality…
  • It's socially required here, that if you want the last one of anything, you must offer it to someone else first, when they decline (twice) then you may have it. If the person accepts, you then may give them a death glare as they have not played the game. Generally if I like the thing and can fit it in I eat it, I'm not…
  • You know now that you say that it makes so much sense. Made me think about when I bought my wedding dress. I started telling her about my sizes, and she was like nah. Just measured me got a bunch of dresses after checking some sizing tables and every single one fit perfectly, but they were all different sizes.
  • So without trying to be mean, I think people often read too much into this. I make no assumptions about others being successful or not. I work in a sizable office, so there's an event every few weeks, this was true when I was trying to lose weight and when I wasn't. Just when I am trying to lose weight I'm more aware of…
  • So my grandparents lived an area with mountain spring tap water, being used to London water it was so weird, like you couldn't taste it. And when you washed your hair the detergent would foam so much you couldn't get rid of it. We'd always adjust in time to go home....
  • So I have a cheap stationary bike with magnetic resistance I quite like it. I've never been an avid cycler but my husband is so trying to up my endurance, so we can go out together when the weather is nicer. What I've been doing is using a (free) couch to 10k app. Cycling moderately on the 'walk' portions and cycling hard…
  • So If you scroll to the bottom it says 'Not correct? Find a Better match' Then you can search for the correct entry. However if you can't find it you can create an entry yourself, then re-scan the barcode and 'Not correct? Find a Better match' to link it I do this quite often for foods I eat frequently when the recipe gets…
  • I also have a job where I'm chained to my desk but regularly get in 10k a day during the week. My commute is an hour, but 25ish minutes of that is walking. I walk to the tube station and walk to the office. I used to get the bus, I always assumed it was faster but you only need one traffic jam to ruin that. When I decided…
  • I weight daily and use Libra (manually) and www.trendweight.com (automatically) I still link my weigh ins to MFP but I turned off my auto notifications as the daily fluctuations were a bit much for MFP
  • I've come across a couple, especially if the person was young. I think for me I'd always choose black. Associations can be quite profound. I won't have lillies at home because they remind me of death. There was a funeral full of sunflowers and now when I see sunflowers they always make me think about the poor girl who died…

  • There was a little chat about it a while ago, no-one was wild about it, it is meant to be quite big. Depends how you want to wear it. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/comment/37703199#Comment_37703199
  • Settlers causes family rifts, so we play it often.... We're going away at the weekend and just taking a load of board games, me and my OH discuss what we want to take, and as an after thought it's like 'yeah, probably need some clothes too'
  • ESO, ALL THE TIME.... My friends ask have I seen whatever on Netflix, Have to be honest that me and my husband play games as soon as there is any time. Though he was playing the new Resi demo while I was dozing on the sofa, I woke up at exactly the wrong time and it properly freaked me out..... And sharing my (sadly gone)…
  • I just put this in the other thread..... I weigh every day I'm home (I don't use other scales). I weigh in the same conditions (or as close to) as I can manage. I miss happy scale, ideal if you have iOS, there is libra for android, trendweight.com on a web browser. It does help, in the graph below you can see I 'put on'…

  • I'm very into science..... I have a biology background, and I admit I've forgotten stuff. But anything that quotes a whole bunch of hormones out of context, blames genetics so you're doomed! (unless you buy this thing). ETA:The 'Natural' one also annoys me too, arsenic is natural, and will make you lose weight in a…
  • It really depends on what you find sustainable. Both use calorie restriction just in different ways For example I went on holiday with some friends, we were cooking together I was calorie counting, one girl was on SW. She was very restrictive. At the end of the day we were sitting round the fire and I was eating toasted…
