  • @mom23mangos You got me curious, what game is this??
  • Thanks for your input @cwolfman13, no "HIIT' with me, that's decided. I'll give 5X5 a real go and just walk/dance etc on days off and see how it turns out.
  • Ann, thank you very much for the previous post, there is some invaluable info there. It looks like I didn't know much about the HIIT after all. My goal is to burn the excess fat and build some muscle. The scale weight really doesn't matter to me, I know I could be dress size smaller and weigh more, that's not an issue, so…
  • @making_tracks Wow, in just 6 months? You look fabulous, keep up the good work. @mikea2g Your progress is incredible! I must show it to hubby for inspiration!
  • Hi Dulinh, thank you for writing. Your journey is truly inspiring. The reason I'm planning to do 5X5 is because I know it's simple-that's what people say. As I have never lifted before I don't want to get too confused with methods etc and just focus on good form and simple compound movements. I have heard about the MS…
  • Pork! Makes me gag to be even in the same room.
  • You face looks so different than the before picture, really great work! How long did it take roughly?
  • Wow Mango, that body!! You sure know what you are talking about. I'll take the advice and NOT combine weightlifting with HIIT. The thing is I'm too weak, I can't even do a proper push up -only 2 or 3 on the knees. Also my husband will help me with 5X5 but that's exactly a month from now-he is away, maybe I should hit it…
  • As for the HIIT I was thinking of doing tabata style walk and sprint outside when it's not pouring down ( hey it's London!) and for indoors maybe do a Nerdfitness Beginner body weight program- I know this is actually more like a circuit but I have done this program in the past and I pushed myself to the max with a little…
  • Hi there, thanks for your advice. Yes I have set my goal to lose 0.5 lbs a week, I have absolutely no hurry, I want to do it slow and steady and hopefully keep it off this time.
  • Ann thank you for taking the time to write in detail. Firstly, having 139g protein is not really what I want, because I'm struggling to eat so many protein a day (only started a couple of days ago) and I don't really want to use whey protein etc. I would happily reduce the protein intake if this much is unnecessary! I'm…
  • Amazing achievement, you look fabulous !
  • We are the same height and my MFP suggests 1200 cal for me too. I'm hungry most of the time but afraid to have more calories. When you increased the calories to 1650 did you eat anything more specifically? like fat or protein? Awesome progress on your weight, keep up the good work!
  • Try scrambled eggs with a full spoonful of cottage cheese. It's really yummy. You can also add some fresh parsley in it.
  • Amazing results for one month. I've tried to do this a few years back but lasted for only 3 weeks. I still got amazing results. Currently I'm gathering courage to have another go. Well done for sticking to it and please share your results again next month.
  • 30 Day Shred is a DVD program that Jillian Michael kicks your *kitten* mercilessly!!
