  • My breakfast is standard during the week (or 6 days a week): a hard boiled eggs and a dannon light and fit yogurt. I meal prep my lunches and often make grilled chicken with a veggie (like broccoli, cauliflower, spaghetti squash, brussel sprouts, etc). I often make chili with ground turkey breast, beef broth, Worcester…

  • Get sweets in moderation out of fruit. I eat an apple a day. Strawberries and grapes are low calorie but sweet. Increase your protein intake so you aren't as hungry or crave as much and finally find less guilty alternatives with low calorie and some protein to curb them. I like some protein bars, fiber one protein bars,…

  • I have found that I can keep hunger under control if I eat leaner on carbs and more protein. I am a woman at 167 lbs now. If I eat less than 90 get protein in the day, I am starving by afternoon or evening. I also eat foods with protein more frequently too. Determine your BMR, figure out the calories that you should be at…
  • Random question, are you all seeing a lot of new ads on MFP in the middle and slowing down the app? I am seeing it just today for the first time like this!
  • I just saw them both at the store today, but haven't tried them. I like the cranberry ones with a wedge of light laughing cow Swiss cheese, and guessing I would like the blueberry ones, but at 160 calories, not sure I want to ...
  • Good job! Consistency will get it done. The 27 lbs since January is great success! Keep it up. Make it a habit. You can do it. I started last year May 1 and I am at 95 lbs lost. Aiming for 100lbs in a year. It was numbers like yours that brought me along the way.
  • I go to the chiropractor often. He explained that after having gained weight, the tendons stretch out. After losing weight, the tendons take time to shrink back. Because of this, I have tailbone pain. It might be similar to what is going on with your hip. He also gave me hope that it takes an average of 6 months for the…
  • My downfall that got me overweight were pizzas. I have generally given them up entirely. Today, I tried making a low calorie, low fat pizza alternative and I have to say it was delicious! I found these 100 calorie 6 G protein Flatout Foldit artisan flatbreads, used 2 tablespoons of low cal pasta sauce, 1/2 serving of Kraft…
  • I haven't seen that flavor, though I have tried the chocolate peanut butter swirl. I like their salted caramel flavor even more than the chocolate peanut butter. The grocery store close by must have realized by sales that others thought so too, because they no longer carry the chocolate ones, though I liked them enough…
  • I have lost 4 lbs this week with the flu... I so wish I would have been fighting for 2 lbs with an elliptical and TRX all week, but I will take the 4 lbs as an upswing to the suffering!
  • I had an aha moment like that when I was at Kohls shopping for another winter coat because my winter coats were too big. I couldn't find one that I liked and I kept walking back to show a friend that was shopping in another section of the store, when a young man that seemed to be an employee is walking by at at least 20…
  • I know! I bought some shorts to go to Puerto Rico for Christmas and they are too big to wear to Costa Rica in February, so I had to urgently get them tailored along with a lot of other clothes!
  • I just had a co-worker come selling Girl Scout cookies... I read the nutrition info (never have I done that for those before) and I donated for the military without buying the cookies!!! That was hard, but I am thankful I am not getting a setback due to indulging in the cookies!!!
  • I used to not plan and I ended up buying/eating out not healthy choices, which got me to a very unhealthy weight (to say the least). With MFP, I started planning my lunches for the week, cooking and pre-portioning out what I grab and go for lunch. I have the same thing for breakfast (hard boiled egg and Dannon Light and…
  • I started measuring a couple of months into my weight loss. I wish I would have known what my high measurements were. Little by little, I added other measurement areas, so I don't have a full history, but I love seeing progress there too. It does seem slower. I weigh myself daily and measure myself weekly, though now I…
  • I don't see the pic. Not sure if it worked.
  • I started May 1, 2015. I have had great success though I am not done yet. Almost at 80 lbs lost in 9 months. 45 lbs still to go. Feel free to add me.
  • Good job! It's a new lifestyle. I started May 1, 2015 and I am not going back. Feel fee to add me too.
  • I try to find a small alternative with less calories for what I am craving. I have started to notice that my cravings become healthier as I appreciate better food. I crave chocolate or ice cream, so I find low cal, high protein, popsicle bars that I save calories for. If I must, I will eat a little piece of chocolate and…
  • They are so good and I just discovered new flavors! A chocolate chip cookie dough version jumped in my cart today and a coffee ice cream version waved at me as I walked away with the mint chocolate chip again... I will have to rescue it from the store next time!
  • I did a 5 mile walk today! It took me 1.5 hrs. The last two miles/laps were a bit slower than my regular 3 miles/ hr, but I am thrilled to have done them at once!
  • These are becoming my favorite treat!
  • This app, along with my Garmin Vivofit, have been a life saver! I have used it as a learning tool and as a planning tool in addition to just tracking. I am almost at 80 lbs down in 9 months! It is time consuming, but with results like that, it is so worth it!
  • I have just started noticing my hand veins and tendons pop out a bit on the top of my hand!
  • Hang in there and DO celebrate the milestones! I am 1.2 lbs and 3 days away from an intermediate goal of 80 lbs in 9 months! I am working hard to make it and I will celebrate it so much, even if I make it a day late :)
  • That happened with me too! It was awesome!
  • I knew I needed to change my lifestyle permanently when last April, I went on a trip with my mom for my birthday and I was in pain pinched on narrow exit row seats that had a sharp corner digging into my thigh! I like to travel a lot and not fitting in the seat was a shocking wake up call. I had to extend the seatbelt…
  • I so agree with how much of the mind cycles and time are consumed in the process and making sure that it continues to work!
  • Anyone try the thin Oreos? I saw the package and they have less calories, but didn't know if they used not have that perfect cookie balance.
