  • Hi! I’m a long time MFP member but I’m just starting back after some time away and looking for some new MFP friends. 😁
  • Wednesday wish- I too wish to be out of the 300's! It will be a bit longer for me than for Rach (congrats on getting so close). I'm about 20 lbs away from the 300 mark and it feels like its miles away today.
  • Hello my name is Elaine, I have read some of the posts in this forum and I like how you guys take the time to really talk about stuff. I have been finding many of the comments and posts in my feed to be a little shallow and not really helping me overcome my issues. I appreciate this forum being so open and honest. Thank…
  • I know I am a food addict and it has been a life long thing. Just accepting that has helped me feel better and less uptight about the whole food/ weight issue. I also have discovered (like the poster said above) that there are certain foods to not have in my house because I can't always control my portions with them. I'm…
  • I wish I knew that logging consistently even on days when I go waaaay off track still is important and helps me anyway. I also totally agree with what you said about not beating yourself up on bad days. Just keep going and try to do better the next day. Congrats on the success you have so far!! You seem like a good…
  • I'm 6'2" and significantly over weight at about 320 pounds. I also have a large frame and very broad shoulders so my ideal weight is about 180 I think. I looked pretty good at 210 but the BMI charts said I should be like 160 or something which is insane!
  • I have had similar problems in the past and I know my weakness is eating too many calories in the evening. So I make sure to eat light early in the day when It's easier for me and then I will have enough calories left to cover what I eat late. That's the idea anyway, some times I go over my limit but I do feel like it's…
  • I used to do pilates and it did wonders to whittle down my waist and help it look longer and leaner. By the way I think you look great!
  • Eugene Oregon otherwise known as Track Town USA or (Nike Town if you prefer). Recently home to the Olympic trials for track and field.
  • I also am a sugar addict, although I agree that it's more accurate to call it carbohydrate addict. When I control the carb intake I find a huge reduction in cravings for sugary foods and high carb stuff. I found "the carbohydrate addict's diet" book extremely helpful. That may not be exactly the name of the book but close…
  • Welcome! I'm glad to hear you've found out the cause of your health problems. That is half the battle. I also have many health problems that have effected my weight and I struggle every day to try to make healthy choices. Feel free to add me if you want. It sounds like you are off to a great start though, keep up the good…
  • Always open to more friends. Add me too!
  • I'm in need of some accountability and support buddies also. Feel free to add me.
  • Way to go on the 35 pounds Lost! I'm looking for more positive friends too.
  • Very cool reading material Madalina thanks for sharing.
  • Be proud of yourself for staying strong and reaching out for help instead of letting the breakup send you into a binge. Keep your head up and remember to be kind to yourself.

  • Hi ladies! I am 6 foot 2 inches tall. I am fighting some very difficult and painful long term medical problems that have made it very hard to loose weight. I am about 310 lbs which is about 25 down from my all time high. I am really struggling to get back under 300 but I really love seeing all of the posts from tall women,…
  • Such a great inspiration! Thank you for sharing your experience and photos. Like everyone else said, you are sooo gorgeous before and after.
  • I've been at this for a while now, but I haven't had much success lately. I've been having a hard time consistently logging my intake and sticking to my calorie limit. So I guess I'm hoping that more friends will help keep me motivated! I also have more than 50 pounds to lose.
  • I've been stuck for a while too. I know I need to add more exercise to break out of the plateau.
  • I also really struggle with over snacking all the time. I know I'm gonna do it so I budget calories for it earlier in the day. It doesn't always work but it definitely helps. Also, like other people mentioned swap out for lower calorie options. Good luck with the snack battle. You can friend me if you need someone to be…
  • I bought a package of gluten-free cookies today (I really have celiac disease) and I got home only to realize the nutrition label made no sense. It says the serving size is 3 cookies and the number of servings in the package is 4.... there were only 6 cookies total in the container! Now I have no clue what the real calorie…
  • I also have a really tough time with snacks between meals. I recently learned to crochet and that actually helps. It keeps me focused on something and keeps my hands busy. So maybe try a craft or something to keep your hands busy?
  • Congratulations! You are a great example for us all to strive for. I was wondering though, did you have any problems with loose or saggy skin after loosing that much weight? I am concerned about that happening if I loose the 100 or so pounds that I need to.
  • I'm a sugar addict too. I have had some success by still including sweet stuff but going for lower calorie options. I'd never try to cut it all out all at once, that would lead to binging. I suggest you try to use less sugar in drinks and save it for good stuff like chocolate and cookies that will be more satisfying to you…
  • Try shoe inserts to add cushioning. I also agree with the people who said to try going up a size or wider. If none of the suggestions help consider going to a podiatrist to look for possible malformations in your feet. I was born with major deformation in the bones of my feet and they don't fit normally into shoes without…
  • Bravo! I'm glad someone finally explained the insulin release that happens with fake and or real sugar. When I stopped drinking sweetened drinks I lost weight easier and quicker.
  • I'm right there with you on the getting out of a rut part. I'll add you now!
