  • I've replaced my smoking with movement and I think it's offset any negative eating. Instead of a 15min smoke break I walk in place to burn off some calories. If I eat a craving I log it and move on. I quit in early November and have been consistantly losing.

  • Jan 1: 4534 (not close to what I wanted, but my routine is still messed up with the work holiday)
  • I'm in. I've been lazy the past week (I did less than 500 steps Tuesday-I think my fitbit thought I died) Personal goal in 8000 steps a day.
  • Before: Ooooh WANT! 1 was good so 10 must be ten times as good! During: OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM!!! After: Gawd I'm going to hate logging this all in!
  • I ate 1/4lb+ of reeses cups last week in one sitting...it's really hard to find that in a measurement on that site. So don't feel bad, and don't let others make you feel bad. Your mom isn't the one you have to answer to (weight loss wise...don't know what the living situation is), you only have to answer to yourself. Log…
  • I am semi back to normal after the Xmas. I am trying to clear out the left overs so I can only guesstimate the calorie count. My husband and I have a New Years Eve tradition of Chinese takeout food coma and bad movies so New Years Day eveything will be back to our new normal.
  • I ate all the things Xmas eve and day but yesterday I was back on track. The only thing I'm no counting calories for is dinner while I try to get rid of the leftovers but that will only be at most an extra hundred calories a day for a few days. I should be fully back to normal 1/1 after our traditional NYE chinese takeout…
  • As for diet and exercise...I plan to keep on keeping on, but maybe be a little more consistant. I think I found something that works for me, I just need to have a stronger commitment. My main resolution for the year is to dress like a grown up. I've hidden behind baggy clothes, or just didn't care how I looked. As I'm…
  • Almost exactly my schedule. 6am-4:30/4 days a week. I've tried to be an ealier riser to workout but it just doesn't happen. I try to get a walk in during my lunch and will save my workout to before bed. On my days off I try and stay a little more active.
  • You Are Your Own Gym...it's a 30 minute/3 times a week program...all body weight. The book was inexpensive on amazon. Seems to meet what you are looking for.
  • I don't see myself being someone who will be able to get to the gym or will want to lift weights anytime in the near future, but I started with the You Are Your Own Gym body-weight program at home and it's challenging without feeling overwhelming.
  • I work a 10hour/day, boring desk job. It's home is where it's harder to squeeze out time for me. I take brisk walks on my lunch (or can you workout at the hotels fitness room?). I also walk in place for an hour every morning in my cubicle before the majority of the staff comes in. I can "walk" about 2 miles just at my…
  • You will get there. When I got my Fitbit I was shocked to see I only walked about 3000 steps on average. I started added 500 more as a goal each week. Now I feel weird if I haven't made 8000 by lunch time.
  • I have (wedMD diagnosed) hip bursitis that can flare up if I push myself too much, Although it's hard to slow down once you get a good daily momentum going, a day of rest or just light activity can do wonders.
  • If you want something a little different Zombies Run! has a 5K training program. It's really motivating to hear the walking dead coming up behind you.
  • I am forced to be a morning person because of my job and getting my son to school but I hate it...so for exercise I fit it in during the afternoon or evening. I've tried to get up earlier but I'm lucky if it lasts a week.
  • My dogs are such whimps, I have to drag them out when it's raining. I do a lot of walking in my house. I have certain shows that I don't allow myself to watch sitting down. I can get about 2 miles in just slowly walking in place watching an hour long show.
  • With being so close to your goal I would take turn off the sync and just use the pedometer app by itself if you want to monitor your steps separately. No use fixing what isn't broken for you and like you said the extra calories showing can be tempting.
  • SPI belt is basically the same thing with a zipper.
  • +1 I just got it and it is a very doable program with no equipment needed.
  • When I go for my lunchtime walks I listen to a podcast. It definitely makes the 30mins walking the grey parking lot, with the same scenery, over and over much less mundane than it did when I listened to music. I end up going a little faster since I'm not unconsciously restricting myself to a tempo.
