@daylitemag Magnesium citrate... "Calm" brand is good and/or magnesium oxide powder. I do both :-) Cheap on Amazon. 1/4 tsp in water before bed. Guaranteed results! Tasteless... It's what milk of magnesia is made out of. Long term.... probiotics and fermented vegetables for sure :-)

Totally agreed… This is a serious commitment to counting, weighing, measuring, planning, but the benefits are great because if you're anything like me, with the stubborn last 15 pounds to go... postmenopausal... it doesn't come off easy :-) ... and this way is the best way of anyway based on my research. I've tried it…

You too @Kitnthecat !!! Have a great energetic day!!!

You are welcome, yes I like it because I can plan my days food on MFP and then check the meal and then also the days end. So when I am making a meal and it is, say mildly ketogenic, if I add more MCT or coconut oil or butter, cheese, maybe less meat, etc. I can bring my meal up to strongly ketogenic. Of course I am a bit…

I make fermented veggies, Sauerkraut, and Kefir, Kombucha and Jun tea. My spouse often wonders at my "experiments" in the kitchen. LOL ... YET, he will eat a little kraut and drink Jun (making faces) and take some kefir in his protein shake. Healing the gut microbiome is essential. :) I used to have serious issues, then…

Thanks so much @Dragonwolf and everyone who answered. I appreciated the scientific facts you presented and the analogy is perfect. Calling mom now and I am ready. Also good luck to your husband @lukesydaisy . Who knows maybe eating this way revived his gallbladder. That would be great!

Wow that sounds great! @CMYKRGB What is the "full Monty" so to speak, for the ultimate BPC? My MCT oil arrives tomorrow (have regular now), I have organic pastured butter, cinnamon, organic Dagoba Cocoa, Truvia or Xylitol... Then blend in coffee. Also HWC. Am I missing anything? Mmmmmm

Nice to meet you too! I know what you mean about David Bowie.... We are kindred spirits. His passing was pretty hard for me too. I absolutely LOVED him and his music, creativity. Rock on!

Hi @GrannyMayOz I had to join this forum! My name is Disa and I am 5'7" and turn 57 years old in March! When I turned 55 I was 170lbs, 38% body fat and a size 16 pant. Single and depressed! In my younger days I was alway slender, athletic, bicyclist, rock climber, hiker, gardener. So I decided to buy a small home…

Hi Dan, Thanks for your reply. I hear you about the milk kefir issues. Since I put mine in a smoothie with protein powder (naturally sweetened with stevia.. low carb) It doesn't matter if it was over fermented. I like it tangy. :) My grains grow like crazy. I ordered my grains from http://www.kefirlady.com In fact they…

Wow Thanks SO much for your great sharing @KnitOrMiss !! I had also discovered the longer I went with my brews the more the acetic acid taste went away and the other more beneficial probiotic acids took over, making it sour or tart, not vinegary. I also do a second ferment with some fruit. I am just so stalled... Today was…

My apartment fitness center also does not have barbells. So I do Kettlebell deadlifts.. Kettlebell Goblet squats and Dumbell squats. I use the smith machine for some benches and presses. Works great. I agree.. weight is weight. Squatting with weight however you do it works! Use what you have and enjoy. IMHO :) I am seeing…
