4,000 to 1,200 is a big cut! You'll crash an binge in a couple of days!! I know I would! I'd concentrate on reducing those calories over time. Why don't you try to 1/2 the calories, see how you are losing and assess from there. There are some good websites, e.g. scooby.com, that have calculators to work out your calories…

Are you tracking your calories accurately? Do you weigh and measure your food? I know this sounds basic, but if you are estimating some, or all of your foods, you may be under, or over, estimating what you are eating. I purchased an electronic set of scales and got a shock! I weigh everything now, as far as is practicable!!

I do 30 mins per day every day as a minimum - alternating swimming and weights - free and on a machine. Plus a slow walk, 'cause my dog is very old!, for a minimum of 20 mins a day! Not always strenuous, but I try to get my breathing to a point that I can just talk! I want to start running, but waiting 'til I weigh a bit…

You I'll look better for your birthday, if you carry on on your current plan, steady reduced calorie diet - whether or not that is 50 lbs lost or 20 lbs lost! Good luck to you and stay healthy!

I ate a whole pack of Tunnocks chocolate marshmallow tea cakes once. 6 of the b*ggers ....felt sickly, sugary and so bloated after!

I usually just don't eat... try to keep hydrated, then as recovering work back up to my calories. When Ill, I tend not to be so focused and get back to it when feeling better

C25k....I'd give it a go, but bear in mind I'm inexperienced! It is a programme based on building up to running 5k over a period of weeks....8 minimum. Walking interspaced with short periods of running.... building up the running over the weeks..that is what I thought and found out about it...... I really want to try this…
