Another one from Scotland here

Same here but I ate way too little. I try my hardest to get McDonalds into my diet now. Reaching my calorie goal is a pain in the *kitten* lol

Hi Alexandria Good luck with the diet.... and serious kudos for the T-shirt

Another Scottish guy here. Good luck bud, get your head in the game and nail it

Hi Donna There are loads of us UK'ers on here. Good luck reaching your goals

That's a really difficult one as everyone is different. I can only say what has helped me gaining weight. I use the myfitnesspal app to make sure I eat enough. It's like a high score to me, every day I have to hit that number of calories, if I don't, I know that I'll start going in the wrong direction again and that pisses…

Once you lose your hunger cues getting them back is really just eating at the right times. I know it's not easy when you don't feel like eating, the feeling of force feeding yourself isn't pleasant. That's why I use alarms on my phone, it's just for the reminder that the stomach is supposed to be giving. Once you are…

With you saying 'but I wasn't hungry and the thought of eating repulsed me' it sounds like you may have an eating disorder. Speak to your doctor about how you think about eating and see what they say. That being said, I can sympathise with the forgetting to eat. I ate very little for years, eventually your body stops…

I know what that's like, most of the people that have went with me haven't stuck at it for long lol. After about 6 weeks of gym sessions I couldn't stop going. Once you've been going for a while and start to really feel the benefits it makes you want to be there more. I was chatting to one of the PT's at my gym a while…

Going to the gym is difficult right at the beginning. Unfortunately there isn't really much you can do about motivation, some days you just don't feel like it. I just kept telling myself 'it isn't going to happen without doing the work'. I have always found having a gym buddy does help though

Let the ar*e kickin' commence

Definitely, I agree. You would be better posting this in the Feedback/Suggestions section

When you are cutting it's more about maintaining the muscle mass you already have. You aren't going to build muscle in a deficit (generally speaking) but you can still condition them to a workload. Your body won't get rid of something it needs, in that if you are working those muscles it wont break them down as an energy…
-
Totally agree! :o Good luck reaching those goals
-
OP: I can sympathise, it sounds like you are in a similar situation to myself only a few months ago. For years I didn't eat properly, I ran off tea/coffee and occasional snacks. My weight levelled off at about 9 stone (126lbs), that's for a 5'11" male (that's been the last 15 to 18 years of my life). I was constantly…

Brilliant! lmao

Hi Lauren, good to see another UK user! You already have half of the battle nailed by training hard, once the diet is sorted out it will all fall into place. MFP will help you with that, the food logging bit is really handy for controlling what you consume

:o Mind...............................................blown :D

LoL It can take a good 4 weeks to see what is going on. Allow for a good 5lbs or so variance in your weight, it can go up or down (that accounts for retained water, body waste etc), those will change what the scales are showing you. After a while you'll see results.
-
I'd love to discuss meal ideas but I'm too lazy to cook lol. If I could get my entire days worth of calories into one shake, I so would :)
-
Personally I think it greatly depends on an individuals own mindset. It was hating the way my body was that tipped the scales for me and got me motivated to do something about it. For the person I am, being too comfortable with something tends to not lead me to changing it for the better, more often than not I'll leave it…

Yes it's very possible. I've gained 34lbs in just over 3 months using MFP to make sure I hit my calorie goals. As other users have pointed out, that wont be all muscle, most of it will be fat. That might not be a bad thing though, it depends what you are looking for. For myself, I've went from looking seriously unhealthy…

Hi Stephanie, Well done on your loss so far! You are well on the road to that healthy lifestyle
-
My diet is now high in fats and I get spotty too, I'll get the oily skin and that bruised feeling under the skin that let's you know the spots are coming lol
-
I would definitely recommend doing something outside, or at least out of the house. After a while it becomes way too easy to find reasons to not exercise when you are in the comfort of your own home. I used the high motivation I had at the beginning to start going to the gym and built a habit out of it. Now I can go…
-
I've been using it for 3 months to gain. I'm 30lbs up so far. It works if you can stick at it, you need to stay focussed over the long term.

Falkirk here

Hey Gillian. I'm from Scotland, I've been using MFP for a few months now. I had the same idea of using technology, it was more of a digital slap in the jaw for me lol
-
I'm up north (Scotland) There are a few UK threads of UK users on the go too.... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10182299/anyone-from-the-uk I'll post the other one when I find it
