Thank you for sharing that experience. I actually never have thought twice about the label misrepresenting the serving size and now I wonder why I never did. I will have to start checking some things myself. Hmmm.

You are not alone  I promise to continue helping you support the industry.

Really great links! Thanks! :) The lit search on medline is my go-to but definitely will check out the Mayo one. I have particular love for: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/ Thanks again!

I like to look at how far I am from where I started. Makes me feel so good. :). Healthy competition among friends such as step challenges also keep me motivated. Finally I make small goals frequently. Achieving them is less daunting and when achieved really spurs me on to the next challenge. What a great question! Hope to…

You mentioned boredom as a trigger. Planning my meals ahead of time really helped me on several levels. First it made me invest my time in researching different nutritional theories and then planning one for myself. As a result it cut down on "down-time". Secondly, it helped me at meal times as my meals were already…

Tea works for me:). I have found it is an acquired taste and I have acquired it. Yay. So that's what I do. Good luck.

Only you will know it's worth it to you. Give cutting back a try if you want to experiment. See if makes a difference.

There should be a like button. That's where I am now more or less.

Yes it was in response to a post so let's get the whole story. I think that's sound advice. Let's hope it helps. May she be successful in her journey. I tried that. Didn't work for me but that doesn't matter. Everyone is different. It's a tool to start working on better health.

I don't mind disagreement. But some comments did feel over the line. Insinuating someone is dum or not on your level is not disagreeing. It is rude. Talking down to people is not disagreeing. I think we could agree on that. I really don't mind disagreement at all. You didn't make any such comments. You posted your opinion…

Yep. True. And if she wants to start by working on a small portion or manifestation of the problem then she should do it. And just to clarify your advice to her is.... I don't remember if you posted one. Could you reiterate.

Oh dear! Yes and yes and yes. Agree with all! Here is where we disagree, and it is not even a huge disagreement, if she thinks she is addicted, in whatever way she decides to use that word, whether it is a biochemical process or a perceived psychological or even emotional need, what does it matter? As far as I am concerned…

LOL. I'm with you. Private messages from me from now on. Sometimes people just need to tear into others to feel better. It is a sad existence. I think they mean well. I think. I really do believe deep inside they men well. But 's you said... Telling someone who feels they eat way too much sugar and is asking for advice on…

Read it too. Good read.

That much was obvious. But thanks for the truth. We were in a pinch here until you bestowed it on us.
-
Thank you.

I felt the same way and it got me started so I am happy it lured me into the nutrition research I needed to do to continue my journey.
-
Well here is me talking to you. Well here is me talking to you now. Your opinion has been duly noted.

Asserting I had a problem. Was that supposed to be encouraging or even polite? Because if so it was not. You are assuming things about me. And in spite of all that, I still believe you have some information to share that I could use on my journey and for my adavantage. Because yes-i am still learning on my journey. And I…

Don't think I was referring to you when I made my comment about getting it. I have every right to feel that someone is or is not getting my point. It is my point to deliberate upon. It is my opinion. What is sad is that the OP was asking for advice on how to lower sugar not a discussion on the merits of it. I hope you (op)…

You have no idea where I am on my journey. I have no notion of yours. We probably have closer views than you think. But the topic here was advice for someone who wants to cut their sugar. So yes- shared some which helped me in a similar endeavor. And I think they probably appreciate that. Someone has posted a nice link…

So many experts...

I don't have a problem I don't have a problem  But thanks for caring. Debunked by another opinion. I see. I get it now.
-
Yeah. It is too bad you don't get it.

Than Insightful. Thank you. My advice was for the person who started the thread. And actually she did want to cut ter sugar back. If you want to eat large quantities of sugar then eat large quantities of sugar. "Have it. That doesn't mean there is anything wrong or evil" about not eating sugar in large quantities. And…
