  • I've found this thread really helpful - I'm not in the same situation as the OP, as I'm still miles away from reaching goal, but after several good months of weight loss the last few weeks have been pretty awful. I feel like I've just lost that psychological drive that made it feel possible to eat well and exercise…
  • Gah, bad week of inconsistent eating and no exercise & as a result have put on a couple of pounds. Sorry team! Aiming to do better this week.

  • Yay, #1! Good work, team! I danced today to Elvis, Taylor Swift, and some 1960s French pop. Mixing it up
  • Great work with the weight loss & extra steps, Marg! I'm doing pretty well with the extra steps challenge- yesterday I did 8,000 steps, which is pretty good for me (I'm often only at about 3500). This morning I walked to the train station & then paced up and down the platform like a crazy person while waiting for my (very…
  • Lost .6kg this week, which I'm quite surprised by as I had a pretty bumpy week, food-wise. Feeling good that I haven't let a couple of bad days totally throw me off course. Hope everyone else has a good week & that the Americans amongst us cope ok with Thanksgiving! Name: Nora Age:36 Height:5'9 Start Weight (Oct 8) 112.1kg…
  • Congrats on the loss, letngo! And welcome to Lindsay. Like a few others, I'm not doing the jumping jack challenge, but I'm making an effort to be active throughout the day. I did yoga for the first time in months today, and hoping to go to the gym tonight if my 2yo doesn't stay up too late. Suspect my weight loss is going…
  • Hi all, I'm afraid I haven't been organised enough to do or log the challenges this past week - sorry. I'll try to do better this week!
  • So strange how the body works. I often find I follow up weeks like that with a big loss, so hope that happens for you too!
  • Ahh I still haven't quite got the hang of the daily challenges- had my worst eating day in 2 months yesterday, involving the consumption of a large amount of bread and cheese, and, more to the point, about 100g of swiss chocolate. Damn those Swiss chocolatiers. Am back on the wagon today. Gonna try to nail the…

  • Sorry to see you go! Thanks for all your work, team mentors- it's a shame not everyone is going to take part in the challenge but I'm sure the rest of us will totally master this. Congrats Ravensbaby on joining a gym- I've been back at the gym for 2-3 months now and already feel so much fitter & stronger. I had a bit of a…

  • I am a total emotional binge eater, but have managed to get it under control in the last couple of months. The key thing for me was to recognise that acting on the urge to binge-eat when I'm unhappy is something that will make me feel worse, rather than better. Now, when I'm feeling the urge to binge eat, I either do…

  • Great advice above. I think it can also be helpful to talk about how you're feeling with your friends/family, or even just write it down. Sometimes just expressing the bad stuff can help expel it!
  • Congrats on posing 57 pounds already! Like you, I also have about 80 pounds to go. So far I'm managing to avoid getting overwhelmed by that number by setting smaller goals (eg lose 4 pounds in a month, or non-weight related goals like getting to the gym 3x a week). I'm also trying to focus on living in the moment, and just…
  • Welcome to the latecomers :-) Hope everyone had a good week; mine was pretty so-so and I ate over cals on a few days, but think am back on track now... • I also find myself craving sweet stuff after I eat. I find it helps if I drink a lot of water while I'm eating. Also, I buy small portion-controlled sweet stuff, like mini frozen yoghurts. Doesn't always work, but mostly it does!
  • The biggest lie I told myself was that allowing myself to binge eat was a treat, a reward for working hard or a consolation for being stressed or unhappy. In reality, I was just shovelling the food in, not tasting it, taking no pleasure in it, until I made myself so full that it hurt. Binge eating was more of a punishment…
  • Woah, had a 2.2kg loss this week! Despite eating more than the week before, when I only lost 0.3kg. Maybe slightly higher cals is the way to go! • You look amazing- congrats on all your hard work :)
  • You look great- nice work
  • Congratulations- great job!
  • A slightly disappointing loss of 300 grams this week. I was actually down 700 grams but then went back up again, for no apparent reason. I've been eating pretty well & exercising, so maybe it's just fluid retention from too much salt or something. Never mind - a loss is a loss! Name: Nora Age:36 Height:5'9 Start Weight…

  • I don't like it either - I think it's because I like to pretend that nobody notices how fat I am, so when I lose weight they shouldn't notice that either!
