  • Hello! So happy you've joined us in this wild ride! 37 pounds down! That's incredible. I had gastric sleeve Oct 29, 2020 and haven't looked back! I appreciate the accountability as well. Welcome! Shauna
  • My family can't tell the difference either! It's kinda fun to watch and see! 😂😂
  • What a graat idea!! I do all my prep on Sunday or I'd never get to it during the week. They closest thing I've been able to get to whole family choice are Tacos bar. I can make ground turkey and ground beef for family. I've slowly been converting my family to all ground turkey. I put a variety of Taco shell options, corn,…
  • My NSV... It's inconceivable to me, but I bought (and got into) my first two pair of size 8 jeans! 👖 And getting back to church in person every single person I encounter notices and says something about my new size! It's not onky about the scale! It's about these other victories! Sure doe feel great!
  • Thank you so much. I did have a hard time getting food and water. I dint even kniw how to do tgat when all I do is sleep 😴😭😭
  • Best of luck with your plans. It sounds like you've got it solid! Let us know your progress! I recently read a book called Mindless Eating by Brian Wansick that gave me some great insight and strategies for cutting off eating mindlessly. I fojnd it a great read. It's truly an everyday struggle.
  • Way to go! Your fear mirrors my thoughts and fear are much the same. After all this we want to do better than we used to!
  • @spangadora I know exactly the feelings you're expressing! I feel the emotional struggle is worse than the physical one (which is difficult by itself!) for me it's so important to have someone to bounce thoughts, emotions, successes, and worries off of. I'd go insane without people to help! I weigh myself way to much! But…
  • Start small. When I could get back to cleaning, my first month's goal was to never go to bed with dirty dishes in my sink. I changed my routine to get it done and when I had that down, I added a new goal the next month. I don't always hit the goals every day, but for the most part I do. Maybe start with a goal to set a…
  • My dietician told me it's not a loss stall until it's a couple of months. In this journey days are really not what matters for overall weight loss, but weeks and months. What's important day to day is what we do with the day. Generally eat healthy, small portions, follow the food plan. I don't know if meal planning is…
  • Please let us know how it goes!
  • There are so many "head games" to work through after surgery, and probably the rest of our lives! Throwing away uneaten food, small portions, seeing ourselves as thin. Ive heard this don't drink calorie difficulty before in our local support group. But, remember, our bodies process food and liquid differently after…
  • Welcome @elleykat! All are welcome to join! Come back often and join in a chat. Many suffer from reflux after gastric sleeve, so you're probably wise to go the RNY route. Keep us up to date. Shauna
  • @thatalabamamom Welcome to the group! I hope you're able to join in and find support here!
  • Before WLS I felt so horribly physically and mentally, that I preferred to sit in my bedroom with the darkening shades pulled down. I thought I loved that dark, quiet space, but it was holding me back. Now I started a routine of opening every shade and curtain in my house every single morning, especially that darkening…
  • It's definitely these tiny (huge really) things that keep us going and make the journey all worth it! Hugs to you and hubby!
  • Wow! What an amazing transformation. What was your most difficult recovery lipo or RNY?
  • My pain if I eat or drink to fast or the wrong thing is just under my sternum, not up near throat. I have burning and pressure as well if I lay down to soon after eating.
  • I went to the thrift store this week to find the next size down pants. I use this as my measuring tool. Bought size 10 thinking I would have sometime before I could get them zipped up. When I got them home, they fit! Holy Cow! Was I ever a size 10??
  • @spandora I'm 6 months po. I have lived my sleeve. Even though at times I feel I can eat more or want more, I try to be very regular. I have to consciously chew food, sip water, and time between "feedings". That has worked really well for me. Also, during my phase 3 soft foods a d phase 4 regular foods, I meticulously food…
  • @spandora how was your first checkup? I have done really well with Gastric Sleeve.
  • I, too, have found the 40,40,20. It's been so hard to fine tune the adjustment. I get the listening to your body, not your head, but that's part of the problem that got me where I was. Now I just want to measure, weigh, and regulate my food. Im still only taking in about 800 calories a day, and they want me to increase to…
  • @trishalong84 I know what you mean about cooking too much. I can't seem to adjust to cooking for a family of 3 instead of 7!i did find some great 1/2 c and 1 c freezer to oven storage but I too need to make a list! @spangadora I will have to try your app. I've been uai G whisk app for planning, recipes, and grocery list,…
  • I've been considering what I'm going to set as my new month resolution to begin a new healthy habit. I'm thinking of some type of serving others. What are your thoughts about this type of healthy habit?
  • I am getting way more than I'd like. I'm not looking for anything but friendly support. I'm getting ones that show women in provocative positions as well. Wish we could stop it, I just delete. Shauna
  • I sent you a friend request! Welcome to the group! Shauna
  • @elbonda that is amazing! My gastric sleeve was the best thing I ever did for myself!
  • @trishalong84 look at you go! You keep it up!
  • New fave for me: Ground Turkey Red, yellow, orange peppers Onion Egg Rolled oats I mix together. I make enough for 6-8 muffin tin size loaves. Freeze and then heat to serve. I can't eat ground beef but this is great to warm up when everyone is having Meatloaf
