210g of egg whites, 150g of baked potato chunks, 14g shredded cheese, 14g butter, all into a skillet, maybe some spinach if you're into leafy stuff (I'm not lol) . comes out at less than 400 cals and is a large plate of delishousness.

...NO. made me giggle every time, like my hard *kitten* Chem teacher or something hahaa

Sometimes my brain sees the word metabolism and just interprets "magic"...like there's way too many theories and contradicting studies for me to even care about metabolism

Exactly..90%ish I eat "clean" but still allow that 10%ish of IDGAF

So I've lost about 40lbs, and when I started, the first week I simply cut out soda and extra sugar.. was drinking like 5 sodas a day..now I keep my calories low, mostly by just not eating till late in the day and then having a couple meals. I treat myself to everything I used to, cept soda, but only every now and then.…

Umm..is your name hary??

Sometimes those that can't do, teach...but that doesn't mean their teachings are bad...unless they are actually bad...then I'd change gyms :P

Well I'm just starting, but it's been about 3 months and 40ish lbs down, so my system is working I guess. I'd say just keep trying man, and I firmly believe that if in a month you stop it's because you're simply not ready to fully commit yet...no worries, you can try again later =)

I just imagined a person doing all of these at the same time...quality visual! Lol!

I work in the morning, so I'll go my 10+ hour shift without eating (yes it's tough but it gets easier over time), then I eat between like 4p-9p. Basically I have a 4-8 hour eating time frame, and it's working really well for me. Bonus is that I get to eat like all I want at night, which is when I want to eat most!

I love egg whites!! A serving of the brand I use is only 25 cals, so I'll have like 5 or 6 servings and it makes a huge plate! I then top it off with 150grams of baked potato chunks that I always keep on hand, a serving of shredded cheese, and some hot sauce..it looks and tastes amazing, takes up the entire plate and my…

Ranch dressing...a little bit on foods I don't normally eat like chicken breast or a bag of veggies helps me a lot =)

I always eat what's on my plate but I feel your struggle =P

Patience has been my biggest hurdle and now greatest asset to losing weight..give it a couple weeks, then reassess. Stick with it tho! =)

Oops for calling you bud. Then again, girls can be my buddy too! Lol

These days I don't weigh/track super accurately, and I'm losing weight/feeling great no problems. If that's what you want to do, that's fine, but on MFP you're gonna get wrongly shunned for it. I'd probably check in to your doc tho, because it seems you're doing fine on the diet, and who knows what underlying health issue…

Bottled egg whites are amazing! I'll have like 5 servings of egg whites for some great low calorie, high volume protein. Then maybe some (100g) baked/seasoned potato chunks that I keep on hand in the fridge, with some nice cheese on top..it's really good!! Add some hot sauce if that's what you're in to. .all for less than…

Hey bud, looks like you're on the right track. I've been eating healthier for about 3 months, and lost about 40lbs. I'm just now under 300lbs so I'm stoked! Couple things I've learned is that the weight loss isn't consistent or "linear" as they say. Sometimes I don't lose any weight for a week and then I'll lose 5 lbs the…

This is kinda my issue with CICO..no one really knows how many calories they need, and the margin of error can be huge between all the online guestimators...imo, set a calorie goal somewhere in the average, after a couple weeks if you feel decent AND you're losing some weight, you're golden.
-
What ever works for you man...from my meager weight loss experience, this is all just a big trial and error experiment...keep trying what you're trying, if you start to notice ill effects, try tweaking it??

When I worked over nights at the hotel, I'd use the hotel gym for half an hour. Since then I've started a different job that has me walking 15,000+ steps a day so I just call it good and don't exercise =)

These are the kind of helpful posts, this is why I still use the forums =)

Hard to say..from personal experience, I think at some point you'll just stick with something, but for now you're probably just not ready to commit enough. There's nothing wrong with that, whether it happens in a moment, or years of frustration, eventually you'll realize you're read for the journey. That's what happened to…

I was doing chicken breast a lot, but got tired of it, now I often have chicken thigh which imo is much more flavorful..I'm slowly branching out like you..next test will be ground turkey!

I had/have a lot to lose, so it wasn't much of an option for me to give up soda. But know that I was drinking 5+ cans a day, typically mtn dew or pepsi. I kicked it by using mio, which in icewater, I barely noticed the artificial taste. Now, 3 months in, I'm still drinking a lot of mio, and to me it tastes just like I…

Others explained my complaint better than my OP. "move more, eat less" or "just cico better" responses are suuppperrrr frusrating to pretty much anyone looking for actual, usable advice. If you've seen that persons question 1000 times and that's all the advice you have to offer at this point, then just don't offer any…

^^ the weight loss veteran tone.."hey just CICO" may not be meant in a patronizing manner, but to someone grasping for real, practicable advice, patronizing is how it comes off.

@joaniee glad you liked it. It's just that I've spent a lot of time teaching class rooms, and learned a long to way that being approachable and able to diffuse frustration are some of the most important assets to education ..on the contrary, feeling insecure or belittled basically shuts down most people's capacity to learn.
