Fat-free mass is important for health. The less fat-free mass you have, below a certain threshold, the more likely you are to die from any type of medical insult--cancer or heart problems or an infection. You're also more likely to get sick in the first place and suffer from osteoporosis. If you're 110lbs and feel fat, I'd…

I support any level of rational fat loss within the bounds of healthy weight. :) She's ALREADY underweight.

I have had a friend who replaced the food-rush high with an endorphin high. I'm going to say this with love... STOP IT, WOMAN! Seriously, continued high-impact workouts beyond a certain level with no rest can hurt you--even cause permanent damage. You should not be "hitting the gym" for another hour. HAVING TOO HIGH A…

None of the men look good. LOL. THey would all fail the waist/hip ratio test! And the same volume of muscle DOES weigh more than fat! Most people don't add that first bit, though. That's what they mean.
-
Adding: How much do you THINK you burn? Because I think you're a rare case where you're burning more than you think you are. Your deficit, if you're walking quite a lot but do NO other exercise, is more like 1500-2500 calories. That's really high. I think you should get a fitbit and sync it. :) It's crazy accurate! If…

6'2" male???? Seriously, DO NOT EAT 1000 calories. Even 1200 (which most literature supports as the lower bound for men) is too little at 6'2". The low calorie diet range for men is 1200-1500 calories. You should be eating at least 1400, given that you're over average height! Because you weigh 244lbs, you can safely run a…

I eat when I'm hungry. Call it a snack, call it a meal, I dont' care....
-
[edited by mod] I'm 135lbs today. Down from 162lbs. I drink 6 diet sodas a day--MINIMUM. And I refuse to be hungry. If I'm hungry, I eat!
-
15? Is that a choice?
-
...What? If you weigh the same, you'll be smaller if more is muscle. Drop some mass if you think you're big. You have plenty of room for it.
-
Try 100cal a day. But really, you'll find your new maintenance and stop anyway. It's not like you'll waste away. So it's up to you whether you care!

My husband gained 30 in 6.... 1.) What food do you binge on? I haven't yet met a person who binges on carrots. :) Is it possible NOT to have those things in the house? 2.) You binge at the same time every night. You need to break the pattern. So do not allow yourself to be in the house at that time of night for now. Go on…

No, it's not. That is nonsense, and as long as you indulge in nonsense and thinking your food has magical properties, you WILL fail. Only really extreme people eat only "clean"--and they generally pretty thoroughly damage their relationships with normal people when they do this, too. Most others mess up then think that…

They might, but they'd be fooling themselves (unless they had poorly maintained type 1 diabetes!). Chances are, she gained on the trip and lost later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTr1JUvEiUU Also, carbs don't make you gain. Calories do.] Anyway, if you're having a really hard time, you can just eat your future…

Also, I am now below a weight where it's healthy to eat a deficit of 1000 calories. I'm at 945 calories. So any day that I have a deficit of 945 calories, I'm counting!
-
When in maintenance, set your trigger at 5lbs. Much less irritating to lose!
-
I hate the gym, so I'm geting weightlifting stuff at home. :)
-
I use the treadmill not for intense exercise but at home to raise my non-exercise activity thermogenesis. :)

She's already below your goal weight. That means her burn for exercise are lower than yours. But I don't see evidence that exercise is being entered at all, so her deficit could be WAY higher than she thinks, which WOULD be seriously concerning. I think many things would become clear with a FitBit synced to her account. If…

FitBit. This, too, could make your deficit too high. If your deficit is more than 1200 calories a day at your current weight, it's probably going to be trouble for you. So you really should get a FitBit. If your deficit is more than 1200 calories AT YOUR CURRENT WEIGHT, you could be getting dizzy from that. If you were…

Where do you live? If this is happening when you're outside and you're spending a lot of time outside and it's hot, I would suggest that you're suffering from dehydration. Dehydration is very rare in cases where people aren't losing a lot of water through sweat, but being hot actually depresses your thirst, and you can…

I eat on salad plates and bread plates. :) I also use consomme-sized bowls often.
-
Let yourself watch TV ONLY on the treadmill. You'll watch less TV AND walk more!
-
Try to UNDERestimate what you're going to eat. My husband will eat off my plate if there's any left (to the point of being sick), so I put only small amounts on and almost never have leftovers.
-
Cut slices and put it in a baggie for later. :)

Got it! :)

Invite him to come along when you go. Stop making lunches if he won't eat them. If he whines about being fat, say, "You know what needs to be done about that" if he's not doing much and "You'll lose it in time" if he is.
-
I would kill him for wasting money on expensive bad food in secret. Ahem. He needs to be honest with himself and with you. If he wishes to remain fat right now, he should admit it and not lie.
